Claymore, have there been any specific RX 4xx optimizations?  It feels like the gap between 290x is quite large on ZEC vs. ETH.  Keep up the good work, your fee is worth every BTC

Figured that might be the answer. Or simply that it's sort of pointless due to memory congestion to this point where mixing the algos to this point that dual use offer to profit increase over single algo mining.

Also don't expect jumps as precious. I would expect there is maybe a total 30-40% optimization left in Zcash total looking at power usage and Mem bandwidth. And that's probably only true for high end cards such as 290x390x over 470 due to hardware architecture.

I'm also not an idiot and realize that if you can make extra money pre-runninf a private farm for a while you will prob take the extra paycheck. I don't even think it's unethical.

Not to mention any further optimization will come at cost of power usage and CPU time.

I personally think the next "wave" will be if someone drops the some on equihash ASIC. But that's prob 10 months away and $5 mil. Possibly FPGA before that but not "life changing" from what I can figure with Xlinix and dram modules.

I don't have fury's or nano's to play with but after what I have seen with hawaii and latest claymore I don't need to see any videos...

Not too much difference yet. 470 is cheaper and more efficient than 480.

draw 210W from the wall.
single gpu with intel core i3.
im sure if i put 5 gpus it will reduced a bit.

I have that card.  The stock hash rate is 238 - 240, 225 @ 155w at the wall if you undervolt -100 and power limit -45%

I have also the 470 4GB Nitro, and it does 155~ Hashes.
I would kindly ask you if you could you post your .rom here please using ati flash.

I get about 85 - 90 on mine.  Overclocked to 1125 / 1500 power -15 in Afterburner.  One runs at about 80C and the other around 70C (I have it set as -tt 80 - tili 85 -tstop 90) and the fan runs about 60% (I want to improve my cooling, but it is very stable right now).

So, it sounds like you are in the ballpark with 87 per card.

rig with 1 7950 & 2 280x 510-520sol/s @ 610-620watts from the wall. system idle 175-190watts.

Yep, it's true: 175-180 h/s. And no mods, only overclocking (1180/1500 for me).
BUT, there is a downfall:
ETH mining, v 7.3 - 845W from the wall on 4x280x
ZEC mining, v 7.0 - 915W!!!

I'm new to all the mining things, but how can you trust someone, who uses closed code, meaning, that noone knows whether or not the moment you run it on your PC it does not start sending all your data to foreign sources. Starting with your location, ip, IP camera, etc, and in the same time is asking for a percentage of your earingings in order to cover the abovementioned?

Well you can never know for sure, but there is such as thing as packet capture programs you can use to monitor the traffic being sent in/out of your machine in detail. Wireshark is a good place to start if you are actually interested in learning. https://www.wireshark.org/#download

Got my rig running again on v7 I swapped riser and installed drivers again for my older cards and bingo running stable right now. All stock unmodded (that I know of) 2 r9 280x at 168 each and 2 r9 380 at 118 each for total about 570h/s
Not sure on power usage I don't have a watt meter

What happens if the code is linked or transmitted within the crypto transactions we are all making?

1) What (TH) do you mean with "the code" and "crypto transactions"? The communication with the wallet/pool? What should, for example, flypool do with this sent extra information? Do you have any idea how mining works?
2) Everybody should and can have control over any traffic inside and leaving his network if he wants. But many just don't care (enough)...
3) Start with using packet capture like Za1n suggested.

Every target server you connect to (for any purpose, not only the "mining program") knows your public IP address. That's how the Internet works. But let's stop this here, it's getting off-topic.
