Like everyone else i still dont get any response for 31st order and i had a order on July .....just cancel it off and replace with 31st Aug order. Didnt know they can screw up. Now they will probably send some tickets to the old orders asking "Are you still interested in buying?". Then, when we answer "Yes", maybe they will need 10 more days to send the BTC address. And when we pay, they will need another 10 more days to confirm and ship the order. But at least they are still alive and there is light at the end of the tunnel. Let's be optimistic...or sarcastic I expect the BTC price to go up in the next 1-2 weeks because of the demand for the payments. And if Bitmain releases a new batch for some of their miners, the price could easily reach $4600-4700.

I believe they are processing pallet orders first. admittedly we placed a pallet order and have been getting regular communication from Cannan
Will keep you posted.
Well i ordered a pallet and no response at all other than automated "we only accept wire for this, how do you want to pay" All they need to do is send pallet people wire instrucions, but we did not even get that, hell bitmain is automated right when you checkout it shows. So not sure what you mean by regular communication, you mean the automated back and forths? Only communication should be (here is wire info or bitcoin address, as soon as payment clears items will ship). Or would be nice to hear something like (we are not shipping till whatever date, or we are processing orders xxxx-xxxx today. Anything is better than nothing. We followed up our order with an email with the order id etc requesting more company info from them to process the transfer as with any international money transfer between businesses (we require tax id, registration number etc etc) and attached a purchase order. we then had our product/machinery supplier (who is a friend we can trust) in china contact them independently to verify their business registration, which they did and Canaan is legit. Canaan 'said' are shipping out orders at the end of the month and are processing payment instructions 'soon'. I hope you and we all get our orders soon.

..they are the only competitor of Bitmain
Nope. Ebang: http://miner.ebang.com.cn/BW.com : www.bw.com (large orders only, not sure if they sell btc hardware at the moment) I had to go to Ebang and buy some Ebit E9 Plus miners after the forum group buy got frozen. so did order from ebang? and is this new company? I also ordered from Ebang when my original order from Canaan from mid-august didnt went through. My E9 were delivered last week and are now on route to the colo. They are also sold out now. Their order process is also a mess but at least I got my miners.

Question: I have two 741's daisy chained to one controller, using only one USB. Can I control each miner independently? Can I shut only one miner off at a time instead of both when doing maintenance on them? Is there a way to set fan speed to a % instead of having it auto run? Best way to troubleshoot or tell something is wrong on the miner? I have one that is half red and half green where the pcie plugs are at, I think one of my psu's are going bad but not 100% sure.
Thanks

Thanks Pretty new here, but I suspect ROI now is over 6 months and keeps increasing. For me it does not seem a good investment anymore even though I am sitting on free socket.

Do you really still wish to buy 741 when BTC is 3800$? Crazy guys... There is no difference between now and 2weeks ago (what would be the difference if Canaan delivered and you have the device already in hand -mining ?), we see BTC price fluctuations every now and then.. I think it's rather the belief in the future that counts. So higher BTC prices in 6months or 1year...

I think it's rather the belief in the future that counts. So higher BTC prices in 6months or 1year... you are partly wrong if you ordered on the 31st paid on the 1st and it arrived on the 3rd you would have mined 10 days at the higher coin price. If you are mine and sell guy you would have earned around 90 usd. So the delay cost 90 bucks. Same as the one I ordered on the 6th of aug and got on the 5th of sept about a 20 day dealy cost me 20 x 9 = 180. You are partly right that the future earnings don't base on todays price. What I will do is mine and hold rather then mine and sell. That helps when moves like this happen. btc peaked at 4980 it is now 3779 oh the diff is up 20% a double whammy. Which will effect future decisions to mine and hold

I just checked twitter and bitmain is starting sale of l3 and d3 in few hours, My dillema is if i should keep my btc to pay for canaan order(if they will ever send btc payment address) or try to get miner from bitmain which wont ship until end of year. I already managed to pay for one D3 (late november batch) but i'm not even sure if dash mining will be still profitable by the time i will get it.
Any advice? Thanks

I ordered a late November d3 back in august but have since sold it. It's anyone's guess how profitable dash mining will be in late november, but t is pretty clear that bitmain has sold quite a few of them. Even if the avalon doesn't ship until late October, it is half the price which in my mind equates to about half the risk.

I am still waiting for the btc adress for my 3 avalon order but I am not sure if I should proceed with the buy or not since the btc price falled down and the difficulty jumped up.. I dont have low electricity costs(0.17€) in my country so I am not sure if I should take the risk.
Also I think many of us will not get the Avalons before mid/end october.
Maybe its the better choice to resell them.
