As an AMD miner i have that fear eth will switch to pos, so i want to have some nVidia rigs for zcash mining backup incase situations go wrong, can someone help me with those questions:
1)What is the best achived speed with 1070 8g at stock settings with this miner ewbf
2)what is the max power consumption at this speed(at the wall if possible).
I want to build my nVidia rigs separated as 2x 1070 mounted directly to a 2 slot x16 board and 500watt psu 80+ , i followed this setup with amd cards and worked perfect for me and i have reached roi on most of them , so i wonder if i can follow the same setup with the gtx 1070?

I'm in the same boat as you.  I have been slowly trying to get my first Nvidia rig up and running.  From the stuff I have been reading most people seem to be going with the GTX 1060 over the 1070.
I now have a rig with 3x GTX 1060 3gb pulling in around 300 Sol/s each. I think most GTX 1070's are around 425 Sol/s average.

I have 54x 1070s of many different flavors.  I can usually find them for about $340 a card and the rigs average about 2750-2850 Sol/s at 1KW.  This equates to roughly 460 Sol/s on average.

Hi again  guys. Anyone using Nvidia cards here? I'm running currently (all Asus strix) 1080, 1070, 970.
If I try to overclock any of the cards even by the slightest)(+20 clock and memory) my pc crash. How er if I take each card out and put it solo in my main computer, I Ca easily hit +125clock and +300memoery stable on all 3 cards.

Is this my psu? I'm using an older corsair hx850 gold, but switched now to corsair rm750x (seems more stable for now but just running clock settings).
I'm getting in 3 more 1070 and 1 more 1080 cards making a total of 7 for my Nvidia rig.

Anyone had any experience with power draw? I was gonna wire the cables to run both the PSUs togheter. Just seems weird a 850w supply is struggling with only 600w of power.

I can't find cheap 1060 in my country thats why the 1070 is better roi when i calculated my profits, so 1060 from your words here is much like 480 in hashrate and price , i want some advanced nvidia card like the 1070 in hashrate to make a specialized zcash rigs.
I made some 6x cards rigs but i found that my first rig which was 2x gpus has better stability , very lower problems rate and faster hashrate

Looking at the difference between the 6gb 1060's and 1070's ROI, they are basicly the same time, within a few days of each other with the current exchange prices.

Looking at a longer term option, after ROI, the 1070's will generate more income. 

1070 - 3.50 to 4.00 USD per day (excluding electricity costs)
1060 - 2.50 to 3.00 USD per day (excluding electricity costs)

The 1070's perform about 33% better than the 1060's on average, giving a realistic mining rig configuration of 450 and 300 sol/s respectively. 

I comfortably run 6 x 1070 rigs with a single 1200w power supply and have had no stability issues when using the BTC version of motherboards and a reasonable power settings of 125 - 130 watts per card.

If you use linux; you shouldn't have stability issues.  I have even started cpu mining XMR on my 6x rigs while the GPUs mine ZEC; still stable.

My Gigabyte G1 goes to 300 S/s @ core1500/memory3700/150W PL on Windows. Linux not so much, but for 1060s Linux excels.

Regarding choices:
1060 3G are not a bad choice.
But 1070s  have better resale value then 1060 3Gs.
But that argument is moot if you intend to run 10603Gs  for years, the cheapo fans will surely wear down (especially if you help them by setting max RPM), and you will get a shiny 2060 6/8GB in return by the end of next year.
On the other hand, if you intend to sell them next year when Volta hits, or when hashrate bomb hits due to ETH POS transition, you will be happy if you manage to sell them for 100$.
Hashbomb scenario is not very likely for at least a year IMO, but still a possibility.

Is that too hot?

My MSI 1080 GTX runs at 66c.

No, but your card underperform in order to stay below 84 celcius. Try setting your fans peed to custom, or constant 70-80%

I have a rig which is an Asrock H81 BTC PRO with a very low end CPU on it, 8GB ram, 120GB ssd and an 850W PSU

I have 2 x Gigabyte G1 gaming gtx1070s and 2 x Galax GTX 1060 6GB. All GPUs are attached via USB powered risers (even the one in the x16 PCIe slot. I use windows 8.1 and EWBF miner.

I power limit all the GPUs to around the 70% mark, overclock core to 75 and memory to 700.

I am getting 1400sol/s from this rig and drawing 500W at the wall.

As a contrast I also have a rig which uses the same motherboard, CPU, RAM, SSD but it has 5 AMD R9 290s and 1 R9 390. It runs Ethos and uses Claymore zcash miner. All GPUs are core clocked to 1050, The ones that can manage it are memory clocked to 1500, one is at 1375 and one is at 1250 (because it crashes the rig at 1375). This rig does 2200sol/s BUT it uses approximately 1800W at the wall.

So yes, Nvidia is far better for zcash mining, but it is a big investment for new pascal cards. I still use the AMD rig because I have had it for over a year mining ETH mostly. I am very tempted to sell the AMD cards to upgrade to Nvidia but I would be lucky to get $200 each for them and three of them are watercooled so probably hard to sell.

I also ask myself - how long will zcash continue to be profitable to mine? Having AMD cards ready is a good backup because although they are power hungry, they are generally still good at mining.

What i am trying to do is to build some specialized zcash rigs in addition to the amd i have , i won't sell them just a backup if eth turn pos , i think if eth turn pos the resell price of the amd will be down to the ground due to the increased difficulty that will hit all the other coins most of high electricity price miners will just sell out thier equipments , you have to imagine how many gpus eth network hold , tons

I am getting limited on how many slots I have left to fill before I have to start another rig... I am running 3x 1060 3gb cards on it right now with one slot open.

I found a deal on an open box 1070 and wasn't sure if I was going to jump on that or just get a 1080.  I  am thinking its the open box for that price if I can get 460 out of it.
