Hi! Just got a Gigabyte 1060 6GB Gaming a few days ago, miner works fine

Maybe I've been away from Nvidia too much time but I can't figure out why boost clock won't jump to full when I start the miner, it jumps only to 1595 Mhz, mining only 265 sol, but if I start a web browser like Firefox it will jump to 2114, mining at 308-315 sol depending on memory oc

Is it a driver issue? I'm using the latest one

That is because some program is blocking it. Try to shut down everything ( even from your tray) and it will go back up. For me this happens when i have crhome on, or GOG console for example.

Yeah, usually this happens to my when I have chrome open.

open the nvidia control panel and in the "manage 3D settings", change power management mode to maximum performance (adaptive should work too).  The default is power saving for some reason.

thank you that did the trick

There is no reason to increase GPU speed with TDP limit - we get the same.

Equihash is more GPU core intensive, you should run OC@150-595, for me @ 60% tdp (110w per card / 825w @ wall) i get ~2640 sols/s with 6x gtx 1070 rigs

Is it a good idea to keep the fans on auto?

I prefer to set them on a fixed % because they'll wear a little less overtime, but it's a danger if your environment isn't properly controlled to have overheat.

It's a bad idea if you do not tweak the fan curve.

No i said GPU core, so talking about the processor (gpu) of your graphic card, not the memory. Equihash is much less memory intensive than gpu intensive, hence why boosting overlock of the gpu give you better result.

For me, the GPU fan speed does not matter, since I have attached additional fan (3000rmp). Its stable on 60-63 degree.  So I see no reason to change the fan speed settings by afterburner.

Hey,

Ok so my 10 rigs are like so

6 x EVGA geforce GTX 1070 FTW Gaming ACX 3.0 - 8 GB (2x8pin power)
6x PCI-E Riser USB and powered version 006c (6pin power)
2x FSP Fortron Hydro G 750 - 750W
Intel Celeron G1820 2.7 GHz
ASRock H81 Pro BTC R2.0
Kingston SSDNow UV400 - 120 Go
HyperX Savage 8 GB DDR3 (2x4GB)
W10 anniversary edition x64
Drivers 372.19 but will upgrade to 372.33 today.

I choose dual psu rig because it doesn't take much more room, allow for dual fan cooling from below because i turned them toward the gpu's, more cables than solo psu so less money for added adapters, more power lines, more stable, consume less overall because able to hit the sweet 50% load spot that allow maximum psu efficiency, and cost 60% of the price of a 1300W psu, so money saved here too.

one psu power the whole motherboard and drives (mobo + ssd) all the motherboard added connectors for power of PCI are also on that psu, and 2x GTX 1070 + own risers + added fans
second psu power the remaining 4 gpus + their risers.

both psu load is the same (1% variance) and well splitted across all power rails.

Sweet spot running those rig is about 60% TDP (about 110w per gpus) and different overclock depending on algo, for equihash (zcash & fork) i used to run +150/+600 but with latest EWBF that exploit everything a bit better, i had to tone it down for stability @ 145/590, been stable all night across all rigs, for an added ~2.5% average more hash (~2585 > 2650sols/s) with Solver 0 and one EWBF instance.
How do you power 4 gpus with only one PSU, the PSU has only 6 x PCI-E 6+2 but the 4 EVGA geforce GTX 1070 need 8 x PCI-E 6+2

Use the Sata and Perf port on the PSU and use 8-Pin PCIe to 2xSATA Power Cables
