Some people prefer bitcoin over fiat because on some places bitcoin is tax free. I guess it's not bad to use bitcoin for something as long as you're not breaking any law/rules from your place. There's much more misuses of btc but if we continue this discussion it's getting kinda off topic when the title is about bitcoin and fiat.

There can be certain restrictions that only bitcoin can bypass. For example, in many countries, underage people can't open bank accounts to their name without parental consent. Bit more importantly, entire countries are limited by things like capital controls, like here in Greece.

I wouldn't call it a misuse of the currency. Even fiat can be used for such illicit activities(based on your jurisdiction) but Bitcoin is used widely for it because of the properties that it has. It is inevitable for some users to use it for such things.

it is a currency first of all and that makes it the same as any other currency, people use them to pay for all kinds of things. you can pay for your bills or buy drugs with both USD and BTC. not much difference there.

Don't worry. Everyone use bitcoin like he/she want to use it. And this he/she will use it in the same way like the fiat money. So if these people use bitcoin for those activities you mentioned at your post this have nothing to do with bitcoin but with them. Every money is used for not clear mains from bad guys. Bitcoin is money. So cannot be out of this misuse.

I have seen thousands of posts and comments regarding uses of bitcoin in  porn and gambling. You can find it in this forum with minimum effort too. I know bitcoin has great potentials and I also know that there are some bad user of bitcoin like any other currency. But my point is, those bad users are a lot in number. And as bitcoin is not globally adopted, those users really play great impact on impression of btc, I guess

yeah i am also well aware of the fact that the illegal usage of bitcoin (or bad if you want to call it) exists and many are using it.
but for porn! there actually is no major porn site that accepts bitcoin until today. there are some random live cams which were advertising in here and most of those topics like this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=957629.0
are filled with their spam and other signature spammers.

and about drugs and dark net, these days it is mostly Monero that is being used there not bitcoin because of the anonymity that XMR offers instead of BTC!

in my opinion the majority of usage people get from bitcoin is only as an investment and for trading. then the second place is for payment and third with close rank is gambling. the rest are a very small percentage.

There is no reason for any of us to panic about this issue, not only bitcoin other forms of currency are also being used for drug dealing and gambling. However as bitcoin transaction are completely anonymous so it has been currency of choice for porn and gambling industry. But you can also see lots of big merchants accepting bitcoin payments so bitcoin is being used for both legal and illegal stuffs.

Who wants to gable, should gamble, who wants to watch and pay for porn, should be able to do just that, and if youw ant to buy drugs for yourself, feel free to do it. Bitcoin was made to be used firstly as electronic cash (according to the satoshi whitepaper) Period.  What an induvidual chooses to spend that cash on is entirely up to them and is none of your business.  Fiat currency and credit is used everyday to buy porn, drugs and gamble, are you hurt by that also?  wise up.  porn/sexual deviancy, gambling and drugs have been around for 1000's of years, and that is not going to change anytime soon.

How about mind your own business and continue to use Bitcoin how you see fit, that way you might be a little less hurt.

Of course bitcoin wasn't created to pay for such things as porn and drugs. But what to do if such industries took a look on bitcoin and get used to it before some ordinary things as supermarkets and others. The main problem is that it's not admited by the government. btc is not made for used in porn sites, gambling or even for drug dealing but btc is made and design for more than that, i see with my opinion that bitcoin is a large industry which can reach all people from all country and bitcoin can be a new currency for every one. blockchain itself is new technology which can help the economy of the country to be better than before.

More people use fiat for those purpose than those who use bitcoins for them. However media who want exposure will just publish articles about how criminals use bitcoins for such purpose just to get a click from those who aren't involved in bitcoin and curious about it.
