Bitcoin is being used widely in porn sites, gambling and drug dealing sectors. Is that why the btc made for ? I have seen a lot of members in this forum discussing about buying drugs, gambling and enjoying porn with bitcoin. Is not it a misuse of a currency ? Block chain tech is a awesome tech and btc is getting popular. I hate these misuses of precious btc. It hurts me. This will lead into unhealthy society along with unhealthy future generation.
And that's why people chose Bitcoin over fiat. They can freely use Bitcoin as they want, and sadly, it can also be used in such thing that you have mentioned. But take a look in the positive side, the demand is still increasing that made it more profitable. The price also increase. They surely prefer bitcoin over fiat because of its advantages and it is more profitable for them. |

The reason why some people prefer bitcoin is that buyers and sellers can transact without having there profiles revealed, for this reason why bitcoin is used in illegal activities but more people use bitcoin to pay for their services needed. For example in this forum, advertiser pays bitcoin for campaign signitures which is more convinient rather than using paypal or credit card, See , not all people uses bitcoin for illegal purposes and these people are increasing as they found it more convinient. The use of bitcoin whether it is illegal or legal is the same thing as the illegal or legal use of criminals in fiat money. We really can't stop it as these criminals are so wise and innovative in transacting their illegal products or services. |

I think 2 reasons for that are that they think that bitcoin is safer, and of course that they can earn more money from bitcoins by trading or just buying them while they are cheap and selling them later. Of course some think of bitcoins as of gold and just keeps their money in bitcoins.
Yes, me too, I will also choose Bitcoin rather than fiat. The reason as you stated, it is also a part. I think people like Bitcoin more than because of its security, security and transactional systems, its modern blockchain platform. It helps people to trade with each other is simple, much more convenient, cost savings. And just like you said before, Bitcoin can make a profit, even a big profit, to make it more profitable for them, which makes them like it more than. |

Some people prefer bitcoin over fiat because on some places bitcoin is tax free. I guess it's not bad to use bitcoin for something as long as you're not breaking any law/rules from your place. There's much more misuses of btc but if we continue this discussion it's getting kinda off topic when the title is about bitcoin and fiat.
Actually, some people prefer to use bitcoin than fiat because using bitcoin is tax free and you can use it in different kind of transaction like paying bills and many more. In addition to that, bitcoin is very easy to use and you can also use it in gambling sites. Lastly, I think bitcoin is will become our future money. Being tax free is one of the privilege bitcoin gives us and it is also very convenient to use though the use of it online and in physical store is still limited because not all accepts bitcoin as payment as of now but in the future bitcoin will be use worldwide. |

Bitcoin provide good system in transactions that require no trust because there is no person that administrate it but the community itself. It gives us a very good security by giving us the privilege of being anonymous. It also provide tax free transactions.

About buying drogs etc with bitcoin. I think it is better to buy drogs with cash since they cannot get into your track. In blockchain... there is alweys possible that CIA or police can track your trasactions. So this is just bullshit talk that media use it to scare peope a little bit... But time will show what bitcoin and cryprocurrensies are all about. |

I use crypto currency only to increase my income and receive additional benefits for my family. Fiat does not give me a high percentage of profits, so I love crypto |

Before people preferring to choose bitcoin because of the small fees and faster confirmation's.
So delay isn't a problem anymore for those people who are transacting online and loves to buy things online with bitcoin.
And there's no need to bring cash nor credit card if you want to go outside but there are bitcoin debit card which is also a good choice.

I don’t know about other people but I prefer bitcoin over fiat because of its power. I mean the power to increase value and decrease value with the latter being the main reason. Fiat money doesn’t increase value easily

Fiat money and bitcoin in so far as buying day to day transactions, fiat is better over bitcoin. But in terms of investment, bitcoin is superb nowadays. The reason is that the features of bitcoin is just so powerful that people are loving it. |

Well based on transactions fiat is better than bitcoins as it needs time for it to be confirm and would have to pay more for faster confirmations.But bitcoins are far superior than fiat in terms of investment and security.I would always prefer bitcoins over fiat as bitcoin's values will rise more in future because it's in limited number and are in demand in crpyto market.And value of fiat i don't think so increase easily.

It's decentralised, it's some kind of anonymous (though, there are better coins for that like Monero) and it's the most famous cryto currency with the highest value which is still rising. So to save tax one can use it if he knows how it works.

I think the reason why many people prefer bitcoin over fiat is the value of the bitcoin is increasing so much. Many people knows that if they have many bitcoins, for sure they will become millionaire. |

Unlike for fiat money which is set by the Government in the legislation. There are pros and cons of being regualted and decentralized form the government. When it is regulated, there are some restrictions and safeguard for some anomalous transactions like insider trading while with decentralization - it is free for all and the wisest wins a lot of money at the end  |
