Its currency, people can use it any way they want so its not bitcoin fault that somebody want to use it for some illegal activity. Its just that using bitcoin in buying and sending money is much simpler than fiat. Besides, you can carry all your money with you if its in bitcoin.

It is because of the volatility of Bitcoin, tax free and decentralized. Bitcoin is more valuable than fiat that's why they see potential in using into it. But governments make a move on regulating local exchanges for like anti money laundering and also needs KYC when signing up they can hold suspicious transactions in an accounts too. And I am disgusted to those who are using Bitcoin in any illegal activities because they are the reason why governments implements strict regulations to users. These people also created negative reputation in Bitcoin. I hope the government can resolve that matter since innocent ones are affected too.

Governments will implement those measures even if people were using bitcoin for only good things, governments only care about money and control, so bitcoin is a top priority even if they do not confess it, they are terrified of it, they cannot control it, at best they can try to manipulate it but they are failing terribly at it so they are going to try to regulate it to death.

I think one reason for people preferibg bitcoin over fiat is that in some transactions, bitcoin is tax free and we always love tax free transactions. But I have read in this forum that many people prefer bitcoin over fiat is because they use it for porn sites, gambling and drug buying, and I think people should not use good oppurtunities for bad purposes. That is one reason for a good oppurtunity or a good thing to be banned. Lots of people use it for bad . That is one thing that people should try to prevent on doing.

It is because it is decentralized and all, the fiat economy is very different from the cryptos even if the governments also have digital currency (through credit cards). The reason why government can't get their hands on the Cryptos is because it is too difficult for them to crack it.

I preffer Bitcoin because of its public ledger. I dont like the idea to trust in systems like fiat which I cant verify - and even if I have to trust central bank reports, they create way too much out of nothing with their quantitative easing buying bonds (and maybe Bitcoin in the future).

I feel you but there is nothing much we can do about it. Bitcoin is an asset, like money possessed by you, nobody can dictate you on what you should do with your money. Same with bitcoin. No one can rule over you on where you should spend or put your bitcoins.

Most of the people who uses bitcoins don't know the value of a good thing when they see it. Since OP made this post, the value of Bitcoin has multiplied exponentially and am very certain that those people who used their bitcoins for buying and and subscribing to porn are regretting it now . When it comes to gambling i disagree because most gamblers make money whiles gambling so i see nothing wrong with it there compared to the others.

Those you have stated are not the main reasons why bitcoin was created and established. In fact, bitcoin has been the innovated version of bitcoin since it was made and operated into online usage. The difference is just that it was a virtual money but the main use of it was just like using fiat in real situation. Those you have stated are made and depending on how they want to use bitcoin. Some people prefer bitcoin over fiat because on some places bitcoin is tax free. I guess it's not bad to use bitcoin for something as long as you're not breaking any law/rules from your place. There are lot of reason why they prefer to use bitcoin over fiat. I think they prefer to choose bitcoin than fiat because of the price and bitcoin doesn't have value and as of now the price of bitcoin become more expensive while fiat already have exact price or value. Bitcoin is decentralized unlike fiat.

When people talk about Bitcoin price, they usually refer to its price expressed in dollars. I really don't understand why...

US Dollar is going down in price, US economy is collapsing. There are many other countries which has more Bitcoin users, like Russia, China, Japan, Philippines and the whole Eurozone. Even ICOs are forbidden in the USA. It's not a so Bitcoin-friendly country, its national currency is not so strong. So why price Bitcoin in $?

There could be many other more appropriate currencies like EUR, CNY or RUB...

You can convert it to your favorite fiat currency though but i think the value will remain the same when you change it to your local currency. Because all prices in USD has it's equivalent in Euro too or you can convert or compute it to much would it be in your local money.

It's faster better and easier. You can make transactions take less then an hour anywhere in the world and you don't even have to give personal details away or have any bank account linked. Noone has to know what you doing or buying just like when you is cash noone can tell where that cash was last. I like the whole idea of Bitcoin and virtual payments.
