I am trying to mine lyra2v2 on zpool, but pool reports only like 30% of my reported hashrate...any thoughts?

There were reports of lower pool speed on specific pools, but since the most recent versions of excavator only support NiceHash stratum, we're not gonna address this issue atm.

"If no parameters are provided, device specific defaults are used (M=1). We suggest using two workers per device when running equihash with mode 0*, otherwise use one worker per device.

* To manage intensity of this algorithm, we suggest you to run only one worker to reach low intensity and multiple (suggest 2) workers per device to reach optimal speed."

1 GTX 1080 GPU is the setup

from what i know p-0 is enabled by default , do i edit the  "default_command_file.json" and put 2 exactly like this

{"id":1,"method":"worker.add","params":["0","0"]},
{"id":1,"method":"worker.add","params":["0","0"]}

Does this command give the low intensity and the optimal speed?

Thank-you

Short explanation of M parameter for equihash:

M parameter can be set to either 0, 1 or 2 and determines which kernel will be executed (currently, we have 3 different implementations for equihash).

The highest speed can be reached with M=1 parameter (default). Run one worker per device (multiple workers are suggested to be used only when running equihash with M=0 parameter).

If you want to run equihash on low intensity and still reach a decent speed (lower compared to M=1) then use M=0 parameter and use one worker per device.

Hash speed: M=0 (1 worker) < M=0 (2 workers) < M=1 (1 worker)
Intensity: M=0 (1 worker) < M=0 (2 workers) == M=1 (1 worker)

To summer up - best option for 1080 is M=1 with one worker.

Thanks Mate , i really appreciate your reply.

if i may ask one more question , it is in regards to Static diff...

some mining pools allow for statics diff which can be placed in the password command in the bat file

eg...  miner --server zec.suprnova.cc --user zxy --pass d=200  --port 6266

the pass d=200 is where you may adjust for static with different miners...

is there a way to put the static diff using excavator 1.4.4a?

thank-you

btw i really am enjoying this miner i will donate i wont scum out

Here's the API for 1.4.4a and below, from the github history. See the 3rd paramenter to "algorithm.add" where it says "Username and password (split with Smiley"

Where does the Nicehash excavator team take donations? I don't think it's a donation-based miner. They're a proprietary, closed-playground project. Their funding is from Nicehash. If you want to pay them for their miner, just mine at Nicehash. In which case, you'd use the more recent 1.5+ versions. If you want to use 1.4.4a, they've clearly abandoned it and don't support it connecting to other pools, so I wouldn't worry about paying them for that lack of support.

Ah thanks mate you are a champion...that will help with rejected shares... i prefer static differ over var diff.

You are correct, i cannot find a bitcoin address to donate too in the read me file...
Also Dropky did help a few posts back.. i wouldn't say 1.4.4a its abandoned completely , as u said they are updating to more recent version such 1.5+...

call me old, but im kinda used to using legacy style mining software, furthermore im not sure i could mine the coin i want on supranova pool with the recent ver 1.5 , im assuming i need to connect to a nice-hash stratum..

Regardless thanks for helping me with the password and user name command ill give it a try and report back ... Smiley

Dear friend,

Tell me please

I have mining via excavator v.1.4.4

How i can set in bat file or in config file - maximum temperature for gpus, for example 63 C.
If temp will reach 63 C on some kind of GPUs, than miner will slow or pause mining on this GPU

Thank you

Please forgive for bad english

You can use some third-party software (MSI Afterburner for example) and set temperature limit to 63 C or you can use excavator API:

https://github.com/nicehash/excavator/tree/master/api#-devicesettdp

With device.set.tdp method you can set TDP or thermal design power which controls the maximum amount of heat generated by the GPU.

{"id":1,"method":"device.set.tdp","params":["device_id","New TDP limit %"]}

https://github.com/EvgeniyKorepov/MinerPro-for-NiceHash

@EvgeniyKorepov This json file is incorrect. You forgot the algorithm.add method, the first parameter in worker.add has to be the name of the algorithm, also M=0 is not the fastest option for equihash. If you're using M=0 parameter you should definitely use two workers per device to get better results. FYI, we added worker.print.speeds method, you might find it useful Wink

We released a new version of excavator:
https://github.com/nicehash/excavator/releases/tag/v1.5.4a

- added lyra2z
- fixed lyra2rev2 bug that was causing lower pool speed on some pools
- added state.set method to API: https://github.com/nicehash/excavator/tree/master/api#state-set

The purpose of state.set method is easier handling with excavator between switching. See example:
https://github.com/nicehash/excavator/blob/master/command_file_switching_example.json

  • From version 1.5.0a further excavator supports only NiceHash stratum servers. Stratum servers are available at:
    nhmp.LOCATION.nicehash.com (LOCATION: eu, usa, hk, jp, in, br).

sad day when excavator was bound only to nicehash server, anyway gl with developement

I'm try benchmark new lyra2z support.
lyra2z-bench.json
Code:
[
{"time":0,"commands":[
{"id":1,"method":"algorithm.add","params":["lyra2z","benchmark"]}
]},
{"time":3,"commands":[
{"id":1,"method":"worker.add","params":["0","0"]}
]},
{"time":10,"loop":10,"commands":[
{"id":1,"method":"worker.print.speed","params":["0"]},
{"id":1,"method":"algorithm.print.speeds","params":[]}
]}
]
Benchmart starting, but but speed is "0 H/s"
Console output:
Code:
excavator.exe -c lyra2z-bench.json -f 0 -fn logfile.txt

We made some changes to the API in 1.5.x versions.

Replace worker.add with:
Code:
{"id":1,"method":"worker.add","params":["lyra2z","0"]}

From now on algorithm has to be assigned by name, not id.

Thanks!
If I want to try mining with excavator on non-nicehash pool how I can write config now?
like this:
Code:
[
{"time":0,"commands":[
{"id":1,"method":"algorithm.add","params":["lyra2z","benchmark"]},
{"id":1,"method":"subscribe","params":["lyra2z-pool:9999", "some_wallet.worker:x"]}
      ]
},
{"time":3,"commands":[
{"id":1,"method":"worker.add","params":["lyra2z","0"]}
      ]
},
{"time":10,"loop":10,"commands":[
{"id":1,"method":"worker.print.speed","params":["0"]},
{"id":1,"method":"algorithm.print.speeds","params":[]}
    ]
}
]
or it's work only for nicehash?
