Man, taking into account the ridiculous number of rejects I think I actually do better mining BBQcoins.  For that matter I'm not sure we need yet another scrypt coin, what exactly is the point other than racking up a hilarious # of coins early on?
Of course both coins are pretty much equally worthless but still.

for cgminer:   -s 1 --expiry 1 --queue 0     and knock your intensity down one or two

Since new blocks come every few seconds, you need to keep the latency low. Low expiry, low scan time, no queue work, and you need the intensity low enough so that things respond quickly on your computer.

awesome man, thnx allot for that Smiley

edit: got my first two blocks about 30 sec and 1 min after that change Smiley

I think the 800 I managed to get is about it. I can't compete with the hashing power some of you have. I get too many orphaned blocks.

Guess it's time for a pool then huh? Hopefully one'll get released soon to keep all the supporters.

Hopefully someone comes out within the next 24h. Mincoin got one in a day or two and like I said earlier, FTC looks like it's gotten more startup publicity than pretty much all the other alt coins in their release thread.

For people with issues getting tons of orphaned blocks, just forward port 9336 to your computer running the client.

Here's a brief explanation as to why this works:
Orphaned blocks are caused by you mining a block, when someone beat you to it. Bummer!
The faster you can get the new blocks, the less likely you are to be trying to mine a block that has already been mined, right?!? Well, if you don't port forward, you will get around 16 max connections. If you port forward, you can see upwards of 50 or 100 connections. The more people you are connected to, the faster you will receive blocks, as the more routes a block has to get to you. Imagine a hermit who only talks to his mother, and she only talks to the postman. The postman talks to everyone. By the time news gets from Jeremy to the postman to the recluse's mother to the recluse, it's old news. But if the hermit talked to the postman directly, he would get news much quicker.

Sorry, I'm tired. Hope that makes sense, I'm off. Night! Smiley

Or, if you're the postman you'll be able to tell a lot of people right from the beginning.  And you have a greater chance of talking to another postman.

Exactly that. But be sure to have a strong password in feathercoin.conf because the open port will allow remote control of your wallet.

It's scrypt based, not sha256.
