This quote is hilarious! Bitmain says it will not tolerate “secret mining,” a practice... My thoughts for the moment (alts not joining this rally so I expect a dud):
Does anyone know the exact relationship between alt coins and bitcoin, except that bitcoin is the dog and altcoins are the tail? At the same time, alt coins can lead a rally or they can trail a rally or they might not come along because there is more froth in them, so I do not deny any relationship between alts and bitcoin, but I doubt that the mere fact that they are not coming along would preclude bitcoin from rallying and continuing to rally. For other reasons, including the fact that we seem to be in a consolidation zone that might not be easy to break out of, I do agree with any assertion that BTC might not go directly up from here and break above $8,600, for example... so maybe now, our consolidation zone has moved to a range of $7,000 to $8,600, so accordingly, there would not be any reason to write home (or to get excited) about any movement within such current consolidation range. Seems to me when BTC rallies alts lose cap and then if alts rally after BTC then it shows confidence in the BTC rally.

What do you know about Roger Ver and why you protecting him. No bullshit. We are not protecting Roger Ver. Most people that post here would agree that he is a complete asshat! If you want to have a thread that is devoted to slamming him, then feel free to open up a topic in the scam accusations thread. It's comedy gold that you are trying to state that many of us here are somehow Ver shills because we don't want to bitch about him with every single key stroke that we devote to this forum.

I, for one, thoroughly enjoy bashing Roger Ver. Just think of ALL the BTC, dollars and hashes WASTED on his shitcoins that could should have stayed in BTC ecosystem. And all the chumps who got swindled in the good name of bitcoin. --Bitcoinist

Just like lending on Bitfinex, it's all about how much risk you want to take that the platform itself doesn't go under. You can make somewhere around 1% or so per year on your BTC lending to shorts. But if Bitfinex goes the way of many of the exchanges, then you lose all of your money.

Great info on the ETF process, that guy sounds like a real asset to everyone in crypto. Though I guess this was already obvious to some, he explains it well Worth pointing out: 1. VanEck was first to file for a futures based ETF. So maybe its more viable being based on futures which has its own regulation and I think increases margin requirements based on volatility. I've held ETF based on futures before, because really holding a warehouse of corn or whatever even for investment companies is not viable so thats a normal avenue. However I was also told it was a product for advanced investors only and I was restricted from basic access to Futures based ETF which could be how BTC ETF is labelled. Sure, that's fine in theory. But I can't imagine the SEC will approve the first ever bitcoin ETF without taking all the time allowed by law.
Sorry. Get ready to wait. I would expect them to just deny it early if anything but its normal for them to use all time up apparently. 8594 is the 200 day moving average overhead, I didnt realise we had come so close to it now. 50 DMA is rising and also short term we are in an ascending channel. I guess the market will recognise and pay most attention the 200 DMA and we'll react to the price. Passing it would be very bullish but I dont think we'll do that at first glance, however we are more positive now then I had thought would be the case https://i.imgur.com/0XBB3VB.jpghttps://twitter.com/gaborgurbacs

Do explain and I will stop asking?
The main point of this thread is follow the Bitcoin markets, price, and buy/sell walls. We get off topic sometimes (or most of the time). However, some people, including me, feel like you're cluttering the thread up with too much off topic stuff. And very long, multiquote posts. The majority of people here, including myself, despise Roger Ver, btw. I would second the suggestion to post the Ver comments on the Bcash thread, where they would be more relevant: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2040221Another suggestion would be to start a new thread where you can talk about taking revenge on Roger or whatever.

Bro, I for one couldn't even figure out what the heck you were talking about. Just try to write more clearly and concisely and fit all of the points into one post without quoting yourself over and over again.
