Here’s the thing. In some ways the objective truth doesn’t matter.

The appearance to the world is that the American President is a weak fool.  That damages American interests and it damages Western interests by extension. 

Niet. It is much simpler than that. r's don't like him because he is not like them. He is not on their team and therefore an enemy. What he actually does, good or bad, what he "looks like", doesn't matter at all to them. They don't even think about it.

K's look at results. And the result is that he is, so far, a net benefit to not only america but the world as a whole.

No. Who cares what party they belong, both corrupt af. Like I said before, they're actual people with their personal agendas. They want to destroy Trump, and the media keeps pressuring Trump every day to "side" with the same "intelligence" people who are plotting to destroy him. That makes no sense.

The "appearance" is created and managed by the media, at least 90% of it. President himself through his actions and polices controls maybe 10%.

The media can demonize anyone, or make someone a hero, easily.

So take a guess who is responsible for "damaging American interests and Western interests by extension" here.

Do you drive on roads someone else built? Do you get your electricity from a grid someone else built? Does your country have an army protecting it that someone else paid for? and on and on and on. I believe that Russia could have "meddled in the election". But here's the thing : specifics and facts matter.

"Meddling" as in hacking/rigging voting machines would matter. Actually it would matter a lot, as it would be a serious breach of U.S. national security and sovereignty. It would be the thing to get really upset over.

-vs.-

"Meddling" as in creating a bunch of bogus Facebook accounts and marketing propaganda against the Dems does not matter. As not only does that shit happen around the world every single year (political smear campaigns are the norm), and apparently anyone with enough $$$ and clout can do that, but it would specifically be a Facebook problem. One that they don't seem very keen on making sure doesn't happen again. FACEBOOK problem.

So please, quit bandying around "meddling in the election" as some kind of generic catch all smoking gun. It isn't.
