Since I tend to have a over active imagination lets just shtick with the basics.

So, 6mg then Huh 5mg  Huh  Huh I am so confused right now. Double the dosage to 14mg  Huh  Huh  Huh

Day 8 being completely dry of booze, BTW. Why won't this headache go away ? What have I done to myself ?!

Rick is secretly hoping for pump back up to $20K USD/BTC before Christmas, so he can retire early from his own stash of corn. I'm thinking of possibly pulling a trigger myself, at that price, and rescue him from wage-slavery, so we can live happily ever after... and stuff.

Dude has been really miserable coming home from work, lately, and it's very sad for me to see him getting worn down in the way he is. Shit is getting really bad on the left coast, and Rick is surrounded by it on all sides, unfortunately.

I feel so guilty being retired, knowing what he is still forced to endure.

Also, learned that an old colleague of Ricks was recently diagnosed with an inoperable neuroblastoma, and was given less than 3 months to live.

The human condition is complete shit.

Sell a porshe then and let him off the hook. Its just stuff.

Ok you're retarded. I'll add you to my ignore list you're the third to manage that ever. Good bye.

People please don't quote him.

Wise move.

I ignored him probably more than a year ago. Reading him is just going to lower your intelligence. The time you spend while trying to understand his non-sense bullshit is valuable unlike his posts.

I used to argue with him too. Just like Ibian.

Congrats.

I think he’s very likely to be a paid shill.

You can consider it likely if you want. But I am not paid for my advocacy of Bitcoins in any flavor, be it SV, BCH, or BTC. Meantime, half of y'all are whoring out your reputations to shill some crap product in y'all's sigs. Imagine the irony.
I would never expect you to be a shill, I think they have you and most of the BCH community wrong. I just think you are all very ideological and wanting Bitcoin to be a digital cash and see no use of anything not directly on the blockchain. No second layer no whatnot,

I don't have any issue with second layer innovation, per se. What galls me is that Blockstream and the rest of Core deliberately crippled Layer 1 in order to accomplish their layer 2 'innovation'. Which, for all intents and purposes, still sucks two years down the line.

I think layer 1 isn't crippled but we didn't have a size increase just for the ability to do so. We aren't filling the current blocks, when we consistently have close to full 2mb blocks we can have the fun little discussion on 4mb blocks.

No need to rush to wildly large blocks just for theoretical reasons.

Mmmm hmmm. Mmmm hmmm. Just for argument's sake, how long do you think it will take to roll out a block doubling once the decision is even made?*

We have the data - persistently full blocks leads to the fee needed to get a tx handled promptly skyrocketing by several orders of magnitude within weeks.

*Let alone how long the argument will drone on before the community finally shakes their collective delusion, and accedes to the necessity.

If that is your state of mind currently, taking hallucinogenics might not be the best choice of the substances that are available.

Just watch, we'll be stuck at 6502 soon enough.....

6502?

Now you're taking me back.... MOS Technology's "little chip that could".

Pretty much sparked the microcomputer/homePC revolution (and console gaming too). Remember the Apple II, Commodore 64, Atari and Nintendo? All 6502.

My first attempt to learn assembly language was with a 6502 for dummies book. I guess I was too much of a dummy, retreated back to the simpler world of MSbasic.

Those were exciting times, just as they are for Bitcoin now.

Thanx for the memories.

Cool, used flight 68000's at college

Then you are deluded. BTC's The SegWit Omnibus Changeset ... drove a huge percentage of Bitcoiners to greener pastures.
Now let's be fair Jbreher, I really don't think anyone is going to agree that the shitshow of bch and bchsv is "Greener Pastures"

It's a big world out there. Perhaps you should get out from time to time.

blocksize increase would not have stopped the stupid ass forks.. unless it were to break bitcoin, which was part of their goal to change bitcoin's governance and make bitcoin easier to change.....

Again with the delusion. One of the major 'features' in The SegWit Omnibus Changeset was for the sole stated purpose of making Bitcoin easier to change in the future.

jbreher..

What is your actual point?  Seriously...can you dumb it down for all us plebs and just state what the problems are and how you would fix them. In simple non technical terms so we can all follow along at home.

Sure. Though you've branched from a twig of this thread that is kind of peripheral, I will swerve back to the big hitter.

Problem: As blocks become persistently full, tx fees required skyrocket, average settlement time skyrockets, many use cases become uneconomic, and Lightning fundamentally breaks - due to inability to make economic channel opens and closes, inability to get stale-channel-state-theft repudiation txs included in a timely manner to prevent the theft, LN txs that require out-of-channel execution becomes a larger percentage of the total, etc.

Solution: Avoid persistently full blocks.

How?: The Coreian solution seems to be to drive demand out of the system by reducing usability. I do not buy into that as any sort of a solution at all. One does not grow a system by limiting the things for which it is useful. The solution I advocate is so simple it almost does not require stating. It is the solution 'everyone in Bitcoin circa 2012' knew was the obvious direction to go in. Simply increase the block size to accommodate the demand upon the system. This would return Bitcoin to the economic model it held from inception until insanity.

If I had a magic wand, I would roll back The SegWit Omnibus Changeset. But that ship has sailed. For worse.

I've got a lot of other points, but that's probably the top line item.

But poloniex  Sad

Yeah me too - I have had three 'wisdom pages open in tabs for years:  Stamp BTC/ Finex BTC / Polo (for XMR/BTC)

It started getting glitchy a couple of days back - now all three are just frozen.

Will check .io out - I am just used to the candles and indicators.

Yeah... I believe that I had been using bitcoinwisdom.com for nearly the whole time that I have been in bitcoin, perhaps I found out about it 6 months or so afterwards (so since about mid-2014), and continuously have a Stamp tab open.. and sometimes some other tabs with other exchanges too, just for a quick reference.  I did not have too many bugs with bitcoinwisdom.com, but yeah a little weird to continue to see btc-e as one of their exchange monitoring options and it is stuck at a July 2017 price.... I don't blame btc-e for all their getting shut down and all that, even though I ended up losing money through the deal... (seems like a less than 1% chance for any recovery of funds, now). They were surely treated unfairly by government authorities.. and customers got screwed.

I just switched over to bitcoinwisdom.io.  I am a little disappointed that Gemini is not listed on there... but hey it does seem to have a very similar look and feel as compared with bitcoinwisdom.com.  I am going to keep one of my bitcoinwisdom.com tabs open for a while, just to have a quick cross reference if I might need it some day, perhaps?

7mgs seems prudent imo.

8 days...shudder. Massive amounts of vitamin C and water can be helpful. A 200mg dose of ibuprofen every 6 hours is also highly recommended.

Rebellions are built on hope.

It is a jungle out there.

Its a dark and lonely job, but someone has to do it. Brief stints of active duty along the Wall help alleviate these conditions it is said.

God bless them and their family and friends.

I would phrase it differently perhaps.

Complete shit+complete bliss=the human condition...and then you die. Despite all of that its the best show around as far as I have been able to determine. Will continue to enjoy every second possible and I suggest that you all do the same.

Just watch, we'll be stuck at 6502 soon enough.....

Get the fuck out of here with your fantasy assertions.   There is no crippling of layer 1 by blockstream or any other core developer.  You are really full of shit, like you are anticipating some kind of attempted spam attack by you and your bcash variants supporters, and then you are going to proclaim that blockstream/core did it... nonsense.

Lack of motive, lack of evidence and lack of logic.... pie in the sky fantasy from you, jbreher.

By the way, I will concede that as lightning and other layer 2 solutions become more feasible, easier to use and greater adopted, there will likely become more layer 1 evolution towards much higher fees.. but we are far from that evolution.  Right now, you can use either layer 2 or layer 1.  It's optional, and layer 1 remains quite awesome in terms of its ongoing low fees and fast transaction times (while maintaining an ability for personal control, great security, immutability and censorship resistance.. all of that good stuff that came with bitcoin from the beginning).
