What he has been doing has been obvious to me (I think) and this supports it.  He has been trying to make "bitcoin" something that the state and the CBs could embrace.

Question: Would you prefer to prohibit any state actor from participating in Bitcoin?

Followup: If answer to above is 'yes', how do you square this with the mutually-exclusive attribute of 'permissionless'?

Absolutely not.  But neither would I work to smooch up to them with some sort of dystopian nightmare about "all your crimes will forever be recorded on the blockchain", which as I have followed BSV twitter has been a pretty strong narrative.

Such has been a statement of CSW's, yes. However, it is a mere statement of fact. All of the Bitcoin forks form an immutable record of all transactions on the blockchain. Personally, I lean libertarian, and I feel that the fact that analysis techniques can deanonymize users within Bitcoin is a regrettable aspect of the system. But someone loudly pointing out such a state does not change it or make it more pervasive. BTC suffers from this weakness just as does SV.

Quote
And CSW has been talking about how privacy is bad and the evidence trail for law is so important...

Again, you will need to provide a link for me to understand that to which you are referring. I have heard him exclaim many times something along the line of 'anonymity bad, privacy good'.In the same sentence. You sure you're not just wrong about your belief of what he has been stating?

Do you disagree that the evidence trail is useful to law enforcement? Or do you maybe believe that all law enforcement is by definition bad? Or do you believe that BTC does not provide the exact same evidence trail as does SV?

Norte Dame is in flames

I would like to see this properly investigated.
and
...sorry about your car wreck.
Around here people in trucks drive so aggressively that I mostly play defense (drive in the lane and not overtaking anyone).
I was thinking of buying Tesla, but their recent instability and price flip-flopping made me wait.

@JSRAW

The view is better than the picture does it justice. There are better seats in the stadium but there are a lot worse. I pay approx £50 per game.

On topic - Regarding Elwar, I feel sorry for him if they restrict where he can live etc but it’s a bit weird any way imo. Why would you want to live there regardless of any tax breaks/avoidance etc.

He’s rich AF. I’m sure he could buy a beautiful house on land & create bogus companies to enable some kind of tax avoidance. Good luck to him but I dunno, was kinda dumb to begin with.

What the fuck is dumb about wanting to be free from scum-sucking Oligarchs?

The fact that his life is in danger now shows it was very risky & not well thought out.
Would you do it?

Thats not necessarily true, you are basing that assumption on facts not present.

IIRC originally they had plans with the Gov in French Polynesia which got revoked so it is just as easy to assume they had permission from a lower level of Gov in thia.

Either way we are not in a position to make that assumption with currently known facts.

And in answer to your question, I may have when I was younger. I cannot say for certain but I cannot take those risks at this age.

Sadly, the thought that it's achievable in this day and age  Cry

Unfortunately there are people that believe in the lies they are fed from birth about being free in the good Ol Us of A.

A man can dream but whether he is allowed to achieve those dreams can be fraught with danger in this world.

But just quitting on your dreams is what is dumb.

Binance delisted BSV.
ShapeShift is delisting BSV.
Kraken is considering delisting BSV.

Who is next?

https://twitter.com/APompliano/status/1117856551975280649

I have delisted it already before it was there!!!!!!! Cheesy

What happens if an exchange delists every possible shitcoin?
It’s not going to be an exchange anymore, but a 1 BTC=1 BTC static ticker.

A 1BTC < 1BTC exchange would really take off!

I am not sure I understand the goals of libertarians. If they want to build their own country, they have to be able to defend it.

A small group of 40 - 50 heavily armed people will never do. A decent defense force means a large population and a taxation systems to support it. Gathering a large population is easy, you simply need to gather the world’s refugees and offer them something better.  You might even gain the support of Western governments if you promise to take their unwanted refugee claimants. Israel was invented to house Jewish refugees and the model is replicable.

But all you have done is recreate the existing state system, with taxes. And that doesn’t seem to be the point.

Neither Nadia nor I are suicidal. We would never in our wildest dreams commit suicide.

fuck me

he is worried they are going to assassinate him

Justifiably, that is a good statement to make in his situation, people have been found hung in their cells for less than standing up to the man,

I gotta say... this would be an unbiased poll.  Not here... not Twitter.  Shows the "support" for CSW and BSV clearly.

This is the button right after the "We are delisting' article on the Binance site:

Time to get back to America as soon as humanly possible.

Ditto...time to punt....make it a houseboat on some more a more hospitable country...any other country would be fine

with such a 'houseboat type' community of bitcoin whales...get what slack you can from someplace else. IMHO.

Also, always the problem with 'security'. There are pirates in those waters...may also make sense to make this more

a houseboat community in a cove of a friendly country then go it alone at this point..anyway I know squat and would be chicken

so my play.

I had given this some thought in the past and came to the conclusion that purchasing a decommissioned aircraft carrier would be the way to go.

The resources needed would be phenomenal but the theory is sound.

BTW, they did fall prey to the biggest pirates of all.
