^^ Isnt this how Nicholas Joseph Fury lost his eye by goose instead of in battle with an alien race?
Sorry just had to make the reference but russos just released another trailer the 10 millionthone today.

Just getting amped up for end game. Grin

Its getting kind of boring watching the price drop below $5k and then bounce back up just above again like a yo yo. Embarrassed

Not a good day, first Elwar, and now Notre Dame in Paris is on fire. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIXxTrAa9nc

+1 WOsMerit

What a shitty day, hope they can rebuild it.
Going to bed, nightynight you all.

Today was indeed a very sad day.  Hopefully tomorrow brings some better events.
 Good night.

Oh la vache.. fais chier

Fire contained but there is serious structural damages. Sad day indeed to have during this holy week. My prayers are with the first responders and that they stay safe. No matter how iconic this building is, it is still a material thing and can and will be rebuild.

Not the only fire around town today apparently...bitcoin has been posting a series of lower lows on the hourly chart. While this is probably much needed consolidation it is worth keeping an eye on.

@JSRAW

The view is better than the picture does it justice. There are better seats in the stadium but there are a lot worse. I pay approx £50 per game.

On topic - Regarding Elwar, I feel sorry for him if they restrict where he can live etc but it’s a bit weird any way imo. Why would you want to live there regardless of any tax breaks/avoidance etc.

He’s rich AF. I’m sure he could buy a beautiful house on land & create bogus companies to enable some kind of tax avoidance. Good luck to him but I dunno, was kinda dumb to begin with.

What the fuck is dumb about wanting to be free from scum-sucking Oligarchs?

The fact that his life is in danger now shows it was very risky & not well thought out.

What happens if an exchange delists every possible shitcoin?
It’s not going to be an exchange anymore, but a 1 BTC=1 BTC static ticker.

The life of a pioneer is not easy. It is usually EXTREMELY risky, anti-economical, uncomfortable, and a very long list of additional cons. But that's what dreams are made of.

As I said sometime ago, seasteading is absolutely NOT my dream, I would even need to be paid handsomely to even do it for a short while (beyond maybe a couple of days the the experience/adventure factor)... but I can understand not everyone is alike.

That being said.... this specific outcome (death penalty? I mean, really?) was very very hard to expect.

I hope it is just an exaggerated "warning" and he can go pursue his dream in more welcoming "waters".

Nice, BTCitcoin is the King.

China wanted the next step to be their currency (yuan or RMB), hence this is why they mess with bitcoin so much.
That (next reserve being RMB) is not going to happen, sowwy.

What he has been doing has been obvious to me (I think) and this supports it.  He has been trying to make "bitcoin" something that the state and the CBs could embrace.

Question: Would you prefer to prohibit any state actor from participating in Bitcoin?

Followup: If answer to above is 'yes', how do you square this with the mutually-exclusive attribute of 'permissionless'?

Absolutely not.  But neither would I work to smooch up to them with some sort of dystopian nightmare about "all your crimes will forever be recorded on the blockchain", which as I have followed BSV twitter has been a pretty strong narrative.

Such has been a statement of CSW's, yes. However, it is a mere statement of fact. All of the Bitcoin forks form an immutable record of all transactions on the blockchain. Personally, I lean libertarian, and I feel that the fact that analysis techniques can deanonymize users within Bitcoin is a regrettable aspect of the system. But someone loudly pointing out such a state does not change it or make it more pervasive. BTC suffers from this weakness just as does SV.

Quote
And CSW has been talking about how privacy is bad and the evidence trail for law is so important...

Again, you will need to provide a link for me to understand that to which you are referring. I have heard him exclaim many times something along the line of 'anonymity bad, privacy good'.In the same sentence. You sure you're not just wrong about your belief of what he has been stating?

Do you disagree that the evidence trail is useful to law enforcement? Or do you maybe believe that all law enforcement is by definition bad? Or do you believe that BTC does not provide the exact same evidence trail as does SV?
