If you got rid of Antifa the ProudBoys and other violent alt-right groups would still be here. Not the other way around.

bingo
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Proud Boys

Snip
Extremist on both sides, don't kid yourself. Antifa is just as bad.
Define "Bad". Haven't seen many Libs shooting people lately, the days of the Weather Underground and SDS appear to be long gone (ah, those were the DAYS!).

Overall this is just another chapter of a very old and kind of annoying thing: You can go back to the Anti-masons of JQ Adams, which morphed into the Whigs, which then splintered into the "Know Nothings" of the 1850's, then the "American Party" of the 1880's, which resurfaced as the "KKK" of the 1920's *, which became the American Nazi Party of the 1930's, which quieted down for awhile but came back with the Tea Party of the 2008's, which has now morphed into the "Proud Boys".

Each time there had to be a straw man "enemy" as these groups don't work without an external threat. So you had the Masons, The Catholics/Papists, the "Blacks", the "Jews", the "Liberals", and now of course "the Antifa!". Whatever, just a straw man to beat up in cute cartoons and throw down....

So just think of PB's and their ilk as KKK/Anti-masons and you're pretty much there. Nothing to be ashamed of per se, it simply is what it is: The latest incantation of a pretty old set of policies that young people stumble on and think is GREAT (Disclaimer, Raynd is like that too :-).

* Note: The KKK of the 1920's has almost NOTHING to do with the dead-enders after the Civil War. Motives were very different, and lined up far closer to the Know Nothings of yore. When that blew up due to blatant corruption in the late 20's, the same ideas were recycled into the American nazis, which really had a problem after the "Real" nazis went down.

It looks like the guy who just performed the slow motion KO was about to beat down that chick who just entered the frame from the left. I would like to see the next 5 seconds of what happened.

Is this what "antifa" do?

Same old shitty strawman
Pretty much.... If you take the "Antifa" guy, lose the mask, and add the usual hook nose and frizzy hair you have the exact same cartoon from the 1930's-1940's Nazis.

Make him black, same pose, and you have the 1920's KKK.

Make him a Catholic with a Miter hat and you have the Know-Nothings.

And of course stick a masonic angle on him and you have the Anti-Masons/Whigs.

Oddly enough you can pretty much take any of those five images, show them to a Tea Party/Nazi/KKK/Proud Boy/Whig gathering and you'll get the exact same round of applause. It's the same thing all over again, just slightly different characters in the marketing....

Hello folks.

Just wanted to stop in and say hello and let those who are concerned know that I am fine as can be. Lots of hiking and meditation to clear my thoughts. Spending time offline as much as possible. Seems to be working ok.

I hope all of you are doing well also. I haven't parsed the hundreds of pages I am behind on the thread...not sure I will. I have been enjoying looking forward for a change instead of looking backwards...if that makes sense.

Anyhow...

Peace
tc

Anyone else curious to hear what is up with this?

"The Satoshi Nakamoto Renaissance Holdings PR attempt is not much different than the slew of wannabes and attention seekers in the past. Part I of his “My Reveal” on Sunday, August 18, at 4 p.m. EDT will be shown on the company website, Satoshinhr.com."

Is it a simple pr stunt?  Only 90 minutes from now

countries are reluctant to announce a possible recession publicly.
The same day my (Dutch) government secretly took over one of our largest banks, after a silent bankruptcy, they were still telling the public the crisis would not hit in our country.
The EU government is also consistently overoptimistic in all of there predictions:

On the other hand, governments completely underestimated bitcoin :-)

Something for fun Smiley It shows how would next 1458 days (full cycle) look like if price change history would repeat last 1458 days. As with all other graphs this one is live so it is interesting to see how estimated ATH is changing over time.

Maybe this is the simulation McCoffee has been using.  The golden cross has the exact same start as the previous one so far.

The only bad news here is, $100k party is at least 2 years away. No party in 2020 according to that chart.

Even if we speed things up, it is still hard to break 100k in 2020 anyway. At least filbfilb says so.

Well, the OP is getting busy, assuming he votes on his own poll.

I was the 2nd vote, and from the votes so far then (total of 2),

I sure was not getting any. Smiley

Of course, being the OP on WO you are close to 'Godhood' in real life.

So such exotic events like that are common. Smiley

What i'm getting kind of nervous about is the fact that this webpage is currently being built, you can watch the progress. Minutes ago it was a white page with almost no content but a nonfunctional email-subscribe form. This looks authentically unprepared at amateur level. Makes me think.
4pm EDT, so two and a half hours to go.
"Tabula Rasa" sounds a bit frightening, too.
