Ok so South Korea bans local ICOs and margin trading and the market goes insane?? LOL This is good news. Less scammy ICOs and crazy gambling. Bought a bit of BTC in that still on going dip.
That news is a month old. Which makes it really, really old. I believe this was just a bog standard wash out.

That news is a month old. Which makes it really, really old. I believe this was just a bog standard wash out. It may be old yes. But this morning (my local time) it got spread by news outlets, several twitter accounts and the price reacted immediately! So the real awareness of that regulation is now, and wasn't a month ago imo.

As an aside, since nothing is happening and we are bored, let's have a little philosophical kerfluffle. What is the difference between genius and insanity?
First off, I think genius is used for 2 things: genius in comprehension (like a smart professor), and genius in skills (like a great athlete, piano player etc.). The two can be related, but don't have to be. As for genius vs insanity: it's a hard question: I would say genius allows a far above average modelling of (parts of) reality and/or a far above average ability to learn how to reach desired effects. Insanity shows itself in the far above average ability to have false beliefs about reality. Of course, this can be limited to very specific areas: one can have insane beliefs about the existence of unicorns, but otherwise be perfectly normal. I guess there are plenty of holes in these definitions, but it's a first try .

This is social engineering at its best. But if James Linton can fool some of the most powerful people on this planet, this has some unpleasant implications.

If you ignore the previous 12 hours on the charts, the price has not dropped. It's like the dip never happened.

I have seen it before but there was some news this week about inter-blockchain transactions without a central exchange. What was that called? I'd like to dive into how that works.

No difference, sometimes. Tesla was a genius and a mad man.

Tesla was a genius and a mad man.
And the best movie to illustrate this is "The Prestige" (2006).

Answer: How much money they can make for their ideas. Good point. See: Tesla vs. Edison. One of these two was a good businessman, and the other is still regarded as a kook. Difference? As I see it, none Edison: Awesome businessman, and common "scientist" Tesla: Awesome scientist, really bad businessman So true! TESLA offered the world FREE WIRELESS energy. Edison was a greedy Capitalist. Many geniuses have been dubbed "insane" for being ahead of their time too, like Galileo... and Satoshi Nakamoto!

Hello.
So what happened today ? I was busy at work, fortunately I took a 5min break and had the idea to look at current poloniex lending rates (which have been low since the fork). To my surprise they were good, so I decided to send some more coins there.
Concurrently the mempool was almost empty, so the coins got there fast and I caught some nice rates.
Only 1000 BTC in lending at some point, when the usual was more than 10000.
Any explanation ?
