To be truly effective, all these efforts require close international cooperation. Since crypto-assets know no borders, the framework to regulate them must be global as well. They are screwed. The moment they finally get that nailed down Elon lands on mars and thumbs his nose at them. You're making it sound as if Elon is never going to land on Mars. :/ I was skeptical too until the moment those rockets landed themselves back on earth. That was amazing. Did you see that footage?

The posted vids of the many previous unsuccessful attempts that crashed/exploded on impact were rather spectacular too. I suppose you have to iron out the kinks somehow.

Well anyway it was all just a joke anyway. I just thought it was a funny image to imagine elon standing on mars thumbing his nose at earth buracrats who just finally managed to achieve planet wide regulation.

It seems that everybody is forgetting that thousands new holders are entering each day, while the supply is increasing very slowly, and that the next halvening is coming soon. I am sorry for your illness, but it seems you are still obsessed by losing-it-all nightmares.
But is supply really increasing slowly ? We get 144 blocks per day = 1800 Bitcoins That`s 18 Million USD (based on 10k) new money is needed every day just to hold the price steady.

This is still my favorite TeraBeara chart from a year ago. According to her long-term prognostications, we should be around $800 right now. Hey, only 1 order of magnitude off! Accordingly, if Tera believes we'll hit $3,000 this year, maybe we'll hit $30,000 instead! I mean no ill-will, Tera. We've needed a few PermaBears to round out all the PermaBulls, and I've appreciated you reining in the troops' lofty expectations at times. But life can't be all doom and gloom. We need hope, too, and I hope you find yours. Actually the difference between PermaBulls and PermTrolls(er, Bears) is that: 1. Bulls joking post predictions that they'd like to see happen in the near term, but almost never come true. But they will definitely come true in the long term. 2. Bears spend all their time trying to convince everyone that their amazing predictions, charts, and other bullshit are right on, when they have absolutely no fucking clue what they are talking about. If they get lucky and are right, it's purely coincidental.

Why you think that these are lizards they have and they are using it in their own benefit, if you were there you would have done same. It's just a mildly dehumanising term used to mock people with soi-disant power. I'm sure you're right that they're stocking up on coin - if that's what you meant. But not so if you, like her, are on about 'underlying technology' and all that nonsense.

That is sort of true. A certain percentage of these mined coins are going to be held by the end users. Not knowing what that percentage is will allow us to determine that AT MOST we would need 18MM incoming to hold the price. But if, for example 1/2 are held we'd only need to absorb 9MM at current market prices. I tend to think how loose or tight the miners are has more to do with the direction and velocity of our price trend than in black and white though.

Telling people to pull their coins off of some shady ass fly-by-night Cryptsy 2.0 is like advising millennials that eating Tide Pods could be "a health risk".
+1 WOsMerit Thanks..I will inspect this as well. The situation is liquid IMHO. I smell ...... Sorry for raving.)
Is everyone as drunk as me? -edit- Beer #5. Retirement must be really rough. Its terrible...highly recommended. +1 WOsMerit I vote Elon as first President of Mars...just saying. As far as the threat of AI, it is very serious as he speaks of in that video. Narrow AI..game bots if you will, are now learning without being taught..and beating the best of the previous gens already. I think a key to getting through this doorway could be through philosophy merging more with hard sciences. If the machines can be taught to care about us as we do for children.. On to Bitcoin. The battle is fierce today as the Bulls and Bears face off. I think we are forming a bullish wedge though, and could see rising prices coming as the bull push forward. Shorts are dropping and longs rising as well. I expect resistance at the same areas we have tested before but this looks strong as support holds at 9k. From last night. noisy.

And at current rates Mars is likely to surpass SA within a few decades.

Thanks for the link. written by Christine Lagarde a paragon of virtue. convicted of negligence - the French tax payer forked our over $306 million to settle a case brought by Bernard Tapie for alleged fraud by the French Bank Credit Lyonnais over its sale of Tapie's stake in Addidas. Lagarde did not appeal the award given to polititian Bernard Tapie (no one seems to know why?) Her punishment - none. No fine, no jail time, no criminal record. Her predecessor in IMF Strauss-Khan resigned over sexual assault charges again no conviction. And Strauss- Khan's predecessor Rodrigo Rato faced trial for corruption charges he got 4years 6 months jail time. A nice bunch of guys altogether and instead of putting their own house in order they are worried about crypto being used for money laundering, tax evasion, etc. Hell you dont need crypto to do any of that good old fashioned fiat will do nicely.

Strauss-Kahn was probably pretty handsy, but his 'legal' treatment was a farce, and the whole deal was some power play by Obama-ists to affect the politics of France.
