There has been a bcash lol pump because of the hard fork. Might get another.
Might trigger a broader market rally but will be short lived. Hard fork on 15 November.

I was married to an alcoholic and the best explanation I found for it was this...
This is really interesting Elwar, thanks for writing it. In my case the alcoholic gene hit my grandmother (drank beer only), dad (bad), missed me and hit my sister. I'm a pretty big guy, but when I was drinking with my sister before a wedding I was downing beers while she was downing the same amount of gin and she still managed to drink me under a table (I can drink a bunch of college students under the table, but that's more fluid dynamics). I consider the definition of an alcoholic to ask them how much booze is in the house. If you ask me there's a couple of beers in the fridge and I think a bit of fireball in the back of the cabinet. Ask my sister and you will get an EXACT count down to the state of each bottle. That is pretty wild. Personally I have stopped almost completely. Not because I was addicted but I have realized that I may be rich enough in my old age to be able to afford the life extension treatments that most will not have access to. But I don't want to be old and falling apart when that happens so I'm trying to choose a healthy lifestyle. Alcohol adds nothing positive to your body and for me was always something I used as a crutch to socialize better. But fuck that, I'd rather live for 100s of years than be the life of the party.
*nod* I rarely drink myself (maybe a beer a month?) but I do want everything in my body to fall apart at exactly the same moment when I die. That way I can say I got 100% use out of the thing and didn't leave behind unused lungs, heart, or liver capacity. So I really should be drinking more and start smoking again... Which drives my doctor nuts.

this. based on my lab results and imaging and such, i may switch up my life style till things are back to more or less equal abuse of body systems. kidneys getting hammered too much? switch to something that abuses the liver instead. etc. why end the race with unused potential in any particular body system. as an organ donor, well, theres not gonna be much usable stuff left. but still, there may be something so i figure its still worth doing.

You should also know the TV license has always been entirely to fund the BBC, through all of its outlets online, on TV and on radio which are free and carry no advertising or sponsorship. Most people in the UK rather like the BBC. Even if they do moan about it, they would not see it gone by any stretch of the imagination, nor do they prefer endless ad breaks, as some countries seem to love.
Personally, I'd be fine without the BBC, but then I don't watch Bake Off, Strictly, or whatever. In fact, my aerial hasn't been plugged in for eight or nine years now. Hopefully, by wearing this hat, your luck with that aerial of yours will change. I never was able to find out what the acronym BBC is short for exactly... Turns out xhomerx10 is a bodger but at least the hat matches your underwear. Happy plugging! Avatar-sized

I am conflicted on organ donation. On one hand, it makes our species as a whole weaker as people who should have died stay alive and procreate, breeding even more weak and sickly people. On the other, it maximizes the use of resources. Difficult.

So by that logic we should stop all foreign aid and let them all die from starvation and disease. Stop all welfare payments so the unemployed (often less intelligent), sick and disabled die. Stop anti-biotics so only the strongest survive infection. Why not get rid of the police so society devolves into survival of fitness?

For most alcoholics...the answer is usually zero. I attended a few AA meetings with her. One guy mentioned that his girlfriend said that the day before she bought a six pack of beer, had 2 then went to sleep. He was like....what about the other 4!?!

Of course, Charlie Shrem should be attempting to live more discretely, especially since he had already gone to prison, and there will be presumptions against him, which could send him back to the slammer - especially if civil pursuits against him end up revealing criminally relevant information. Now he will probably need to either prove (with full blockchain trace) he had those Bitcoins before the hack or he invested a bunch of money after his release from prison AND how did he obtained the funds to do so. If he can't do that... well... It seems that the Winklevi had a P.I. on him for quite some time before suing. Oh, and I seem to remember Roger Ver and others lend/donated some funds to Shrem for his defence because he couldn't afford it. Well, no. The onus is on the Winklevii to prove that the money Shrem has been spending is rightfully theirs. In theory, at least. Well, it seems the judge has agreed to freeze some of Shrem assets in response to the case so, at this point, I would think some action on HIS part would be needed to unlock 'em. Not having read the content of the lawsuit there's not much more to speculate about probable outcomes. P.S.: Here is what I remembered about Charlie being in need of money for his defense: https://twitter.com/rogerkver/status/891050550862561280?lang=enHe probably also said to the court that he was broke, then he went to prison and some time after he is freed he buys assets for millions of $. I would say the Winklevi have a point there. Of course it could all be easily explained just by showing the legit origin of that sudden (post jail time) wealth. In fact he doesn't even need to do anything... the judge can (and probably did/will) request his tax reports for the past few years where everything should be well explained.
