Well I was trying to go along with some of the factors that you presented, and if you are not really satisfied geographically, then either you have already identified another place that would work better for you, or if you do not really want to settle down geographically then I would think that considering just minor maintenance home and car, and then the rest of the money would be used to travel and to figure out a place that would be more suitable for you.  Then the business would come out of that, unless it allowed you the geographical mobility.

Ultimately, the formula and thinking around the whole issue about how much you need and how much do you want to spend on your base will determine how much value you have left to generate enough income in order to satisfy your remaining needs of food, beverages and entertainment and lodging becomes a bit of a different amount of expense (and formula) if you are more mobile or still trying to determine if another location would suit you better (do you have to try out the new location first, or do you already sufficiently know that part in order to just jigger your calculations a bit to include that?)

I understand that it could be difficult to lock down amounts exactly, if you remain uncertain about the location, but you could still speculate.. and it may be more useful to account for various scenarios, including one scenario that has enough capital to totally say fuck you to any business to the extent that it ties you down geographically... and that might mean saying fuck you to any business, unless you really believe that the business is something that you are wanting for some kind of self-fulfillment thing, but if you have enough income then you are not necessarily going to need that self-fulfilling part, so then the calculation becomes about how much do you need in order to really get the part that you actually want, without necessarily being tied down to obligations that are mostly in the category of income generating, rather than self-fulfillment.

Good lord.
If you have too take a breath before finishing reading a sentence out loud, I'd say its too long....

I been through the horrible drop in portfolio value.

I'm surprised at the number of people here shaken by the pump and dump. I treated that high as no more than a theoretical figure. Trying to realise it with the amount of chain and exchange seizure would've been a lottery, and of course no one knew that was the peak though it certainly showed every sign.

As it headed to poo land my main fear was being bored shitless again for several years until it came back to life.

The thing I've been most stirred by is how similarly the whole thing has played out so far compared to the previous bubble.

The problem with expoparabolic curves is they tend to go straight up.  Which makes it hard to guess where they will stop.

Running a 10 page WO deficit here, real life and all.

Sorry I'm not my usual gregarious online self at the moment.
I always say fuck it and skip the pages I have missed. No reason to dwell on the past, especially when all your missing is trolling and shilling (seriously the last 10 pages have been shit)

not the WO's finest hour, I'll give you that

Well it really perked up.
Thanks to all of you.

Quick pool: Looking to sell $2000 worth of bitcoin for my financial needs in the next week,so what time will be the best to get peak price guys.

Weekend days or today itself.

some people think we will see a weekend pump. so I would not sell today, wait until monday. As always, don't trust some random internet guy's financial advice Smiley
This advice made me more confused than how much I was before. But still believing the weekend bump and waiting for it.

Also, I'm not sure if depression is actually bad. It might be a mechanism that is supposed to get us to stop doing what isn't working and seek out new solutions.

This is somewhat how I view depression. My philosophy has become without experiencing depression you cannot experience happiness. Without sadness you cannot feel joy. It's something you have to endure to eventually become a better version of yourself.

Since everybody is sharing their personal experiences. How crypto has had a grip on me: it started in 2015 when I got introduced to a shitcoin, I already heard of Bitcoin. Put a decent amount of money into it and saw it rise x4 at the end of 2016. That's when I decided to dig deeper and created an account here. Then 2017 came along and I experienced the crazy bull run we had. During this year with amazing highs and profits I started to feel more confident and euphoric. After a while (which I can see now in hindsight) the profits I made, were linked to my self-confidence. Which is quite dangerous when I think about it. So when the bear market came and it destroyed my paper profits I was feeling low, insecure and doubting myself all the time.

It has now been almost six months since I have started rebuilding my self-confidence. What seems to help for me is routine and exercise. Going to the gym and lifting weights has been working quite well. A strong mind needs an even stronger body.

LTC.. my little chikun..
It was my first contact with cryptos. I still remember the heat of those 7950 AMD gpus..
Nice to see it moving up, as its 10% of my blockfolio  Grin

I want to share a thought about us HODLers and the waiting for the next peak.

I still regret not having sold (some) on last ATH, but it hurts less everyday.. now that we changed the mood and market direction.  Cheesy Cheesy

but think about what we are spending while waiting for next highs.. we are wasting something we will not be able to buy when we get "there"..

we are spending TIME.. that wont come back.

I´m trying to enjoy every moment with familiy, wife&kids, friends, relatives..  Money cant buy health or past time.. Lets enjoy the trip of life. It goes away thaat fast.

Lets live today, not after next halving  Grin

(at least, lets try..)

Backtest your emotions. We've seen five of these blowoff tops. Factor the next one in before it gobsmacks you.

That's some OG sense.

my problem seems to be not to recognize the blowoff tops correctly. 2013 bull move exploded from $120 to $1200 in one month. doubled within a day at the end. 2017 top went there much slower. when it was around $20k I expected a blowoff to $30k or $50k. I was monitoring BETI and it did not work for me.

maybe the blowoff momentum went into shitcoins in dec 2017. i missed it completely, was shell shocked and only able to unload 1/3 of stash around $8.5k.

I know what will happen next time around: in an attempt to not be late again I will sell at $50k and then price will paint a blowoff to $100k or $150k  Cheesy

Maybe this hat will help you to recognize blowoff tops1 - that's a 600W bulb btw.

WOW! what a brilliant idea! I was thinking about what kind of avatar would fit, but never had any inspiration. my name is actually derived from a 600watt HPS homegrowing bulb which was laying around on my desk in the moment i needed a name for this forum.

i am genuinely impressed. and really flattered.

and unfortunately out of smerit. (but i saw fellow members took care of that - very nice, thank you all  Kiss)

You are quite welcome!  It's enough for me to know I made you a suitable hat - that's better than merit Smiley

Edit: oops! Misquote.  Image redacted Redo required.
Edit2: Much better... fixed the quote and I added a shoulder patch to make it look official.

our insider took screenshot off Jihan’s laptop TSMC 7 nm yields are catastrophic 47% Considering the wafer costs this is a financial disaster! Also TSMC capacity is limited and Bitmain allocated only 9,5k wafers for entire 2019. Compare that to 20k per month in 2017 😭

karma for Jihan?
also - bit risky for the insider? narrows down the suspects...

Yaa, you are right. BTC prices are the main cause of movements in the altcoin market, and it makes sense to say that its mother of all crytpo.

Although, if you look closer, Honey Badger is claimed as "world's most fearless animal". This does not apply to altcoins, rather BTC should be the Honey Badger.

Two kids accept bitcoins as a payment method in their small lemonade shop!

The btc addr of that QR code ....is not a segwit address... Roll Eyes
yet, new generation chooses btc!

I'm under the sneaking suspicion that it's a Photoshop as a way to get people online to say, "Awww cool I'll toss en a couple bucks" and some dweeb makes out with a few hundred and these kids have their pic circulated. But that's just the pessimistic side of me in the crypto town full of scam artist.
Here the address:
https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/address/1BGrGse1QaPQLPovUm84yHZS6kt7QHTsJq

No Segwit address, probabl to maximise compatibility with legacy customer wallets.
Otherwise well managed UTXO set.
The girls must use quite a sophisticated wallet.

You can check yourself the address history.
They are definitely in the green with that Kiosk.
