Just went to the bulk food store and bought about $1k worth of food (mainly meat) and vitamins.

They were out of freezers otherwise I would have bought one (and more meat).

Things like this are why I did bitcoin. Not to buy a lambo.
One downside to my current status that I have noted is the lack of freezer space. A good deep freezer doesn't use much power and should be able to run on the solar/battery arrays. I'll keep that in mind and get one later when things are more normal, live and learn.

Why are you people hoarding food?
At lest where I live there is no shortage of anything except hand sanitizer and masks, and that is getting back in stock slowly as well.
I go shopping every third day, because that's when its time to buy more milk, I usually shop right before closing to avoid crowds, but I have done some daytime shopping too and it wasn't so bad, people were distancing.

Same in Italy.
No shortage of whatsoever, luckily the logistical/supply chain hasn't been disrupted (yet).
I have anedoptically  spotted a general  raise in prices. My guess is that people go and shop once a week or so, or get online delivery. So when they get an online slot or go to the shop, they don't lose time comparing all the different brands or pick the best price/quality, they just grab what they know and minimise the time inside the shop.
So the bastards (ahah free market dude) are actually raising prices.

Once nice development @arriemoller is online queuing for physical shop. We used to queue outside shops respecting social distancing, this meant HOURS queening and logistical difficulties (what happen when you have 100 people queuing 200 meters long?
So now you can "take a ticket in the queue with app like "ufirst". This disrupted my our kamikaze tactic to blitz half an hour before shop closing.

EDIT: Spotted a typo thanks to LotV8s , but leaving it there, because my broken English is best!

They don't just get paid whatever. Duh. They have to justify budgets based on demand for services.

These is no magic money pot for them.

FS
Yeah but the common pleb doesn't know that. Until there are suddenly, mysteriously, budget cuts. All government workers are like that.

Being specialized at something, even being good at it, such as for example treating diseases, doesn't mean you have a clue where the money are coming from or going to.

My mom is a nurse and occasionally tells me stories. They are as human as everyone else, both the good and the bad parts. Which means they are as prone as the rest of us to want an easy ride. People staying home? Awesome! Empty hospitals are great to work at!

Still hard to get headphones or webcams here, unless you want to pay over 1K for a USB webcam.

Since every 210,000 blocks are mined (about 4 years later) block halving occurs, according to that, the third block halving will be occured on May 11-12, 2020. We have seen that the price of Bitcoin has risen after the previous two halving.
What will happen on Bitcoin price after 3rd halving on May 2020?

And what will happen after year 2140?

I thought "that can't be right", but then I checked what the major electronics shops had in their stores here in southern Sweden, and they were all out.

But after some googling I found some ranging from 30-500 USD equivalent, both in swedish online shops and on Amazon and Aliexpress.

But I have no idea where you live, so that might not be a good option for you.

A bit south of Sweden. There are several online shop still indicating they have them in stock, but after contacting by phone they all say they ran out. If you can wait for shipment from China that may work. eventually. Using phones as USB webcam is a mess, require android debug systems, phones overheating, wrong sound source, 2 second latency, etc.

One of the largest retailers here (big enough to keep Amazon out of this country):

Not sure about the application you will need the USB webcam for, your DIY skills and free time, but you can harvest a webcam module from an old/defective notebook you have in your pile of old electronics or aquire locally (this might give an idea how: https://youtu.be/CouxmNqxO4A). Audio would be a second topic, depending on the given hardware.

What about auction sites?

Tradera (swedish auction site big enought to keep Ebay out of Sweden, they have tried twice) has a a few.
Here's a cheap used one, (so far, ends tomorrow). https://www.tradera.com/item/120326/395875964/logitech-quickcam-fusion-webkamera.

Here's another one, brand new and unopened. https://www.tradera.com/item/120326/395684928/webcam-webkamera-logitech-c270-hd-ny-

Post from SE to NL is pretty quick.

Not much. It's next year that we are likely to see huge price rises.

Was just thinking about that route  Smiley but I already have laptop, I needed a couple of webcams for colleagues on short notice. for now we resorted to voice-only meetings, it wasn't that critical. For headphones I ordered replacement earmuffs but the 24h delivery was more like 2 weeks. Also found some conferencing software refuses to select headphones as audio source when the USB-tethered phone includes (non-working) audio in the video stream. Next pandemic I know what to stockpile.
