So, I got a letter in my mailbox, handwritten, no stamp, obviously delivered by hand, from someone called Mona. I open it and it starts "My name is Mona, I'm one of Jehovas witnesses in Malmö. Considering the current situation I choose to write to you instead of visiting you in person..."
Bloody hel, even Jehovas is doing social distancing.
Same here at my parents, came handwritten but unlike at you it came by postal mail. Just glanced over it, but these sentences sound familiar. Must be a worldwide Jehova-OP, these guys know how to grow their herd of (paying) sheep. They started that two months ago as a safety measure in New York ... and spread around the world. No sense getting ppl sick... and its never been about "paying sheep" it's supported by voluntary donations. They feel an obligation to fellow mankind and the preaching of the coming good news of Gods kingdom on earth and a bright hope for the future. Matt 24:14 rev 21:3,4 Jw.org

Anything that adds benefit to Bitcoin for me is good. US Plan to Delist Chinese Stocks Could Trigger Massive Bitcoin Buying SpreeBecause the delisting of Chinese companies from the US markets could have dire impacts on the country’s economy, citizens residing there may continue turning to alternative investments like Bitcoin to hedge their portfolios. * The Bitcoin software from satoshi syncs the current bitcoin chain (well, until it hits a bug with blocks over 500k, but if you fix that it keeps on syncing).
Except for the fact that it doesn't? Niiiice.

These leeches from bcash lol and soi disant bsv piggy-back on our security system - the mining network that was so carefully designed by satoshi.
Your security system? You don't own the miners. Well, unless you own the miners. In which case you direct them at whichever chain pleases your fancy. All this sturm und drang and you still don't understand Satoshi's incentive mechanism.

Relatively speaking, the hash rate drop in 2036 was pretty remarkable as well. What else can you tell us about the future, dear newbie, aka time traveller? Maybe tell us something closer to the present, because I am NOT sure if my time preference is going to allow me to enjoy such 2036 info with as much vigor as maybe something a bit closer to the present.

Hahaha hilarious! Where's Bawb though? Erm... behind? *duck* EDIT: Aaaw! i was too late. LFC did it first. hahahaha Thinking about this further... maybe the first one in the line should be mindrust slapping himself... .. I hate to be seen as the instigator on this situation... especially since Mindrust did it to himself, then the rest of us followed. We must also thank mindrust since he has provided us with fodder for years to come.. I mean, I cannot even imagine not mentioning mindrust here and there a couple of (or even a few) years from now... something like: "remember mindrust.. he sold at the bottom, even though several of us were trying (and even begging) to talk him into some kind of mitigation of damages.. yet he was too stubborn." He would not cut his loose.....

Alright I am annoyed and saddened and really fucking tired. Also down to just one merit, but I will give it to the best youngster, newbie or kid who can write a decent - short will do fine - riposte to the kindergarten shit that is happening over here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5248291.msg54499261#msg54499261Of course I have sympathy for our fallen ex-member mindrust who has gone back 5 years in his understanding of bitcoin, but please do your best to put cobra at least in his place, the beginners and help section. Meh. Cobra just being edgy for the sake of presenting some edge. As is their wont. When's the last time you honestly valued their opinions? JJG should feel honored that they actually read his entire response though. It was all fun and games until the WO unleashed JJG on Cobra. And I see must of Cobra's posts there as a waste of space. He's repeating some of the same debunked nonsense that Peter Schiff and Co. have been repeating for years. Gosh, yeah. I was a bit surprised regarding how much Cøbra seemed to want to defend gold relative to bitcoin.. and to suggest that I was being too harsh on gold because I was proclaiming bitcoin to be a sounder form of money than gold and/or fiat, and to be fair, Cøbra did not go as far as Peter Schiff, even though we might NOT have known it if we did not presume that Cøbra at least owns a decent amount of bitcoin (as he proclaims to). Peter cannot bring himself around to admitting any kind of value in owning any bitcoin (except admitting that he missed the boat and other nonsense like that). Besides my walls of text to attempt to bury Cøbra (hahahahaha), I am not really sure how heavily I argued against gold or against Cøbra's desire to put gold on some kind of solid store of value pedestal... even though I did assert that gold has hardly appreciated in value in the past 12 years and I also just abandoned the argument to some extent by asserting that each of us needs to decide for ourselves how much to allocate into gold versus bitcoin versus fiat in terms of our own assessment of our financials,... and in that regard, we will see how our varying allocation choices play out in the coming years. I personally doubt that the value of either gold or fiat are going to play out very well relative to bitcoin in the next 5 years or so (probably even sooner, but I don't necessarily suggest that newbies get into bitcoin on a shorter time horizon, these days), but hey whatever, people are free to make their own choices in that respect.

I am not sure what you want to know, and how much I can tell you. Those of you that are choosing to HODL BTC today, are going to become a new class of wealthy elite, that will likely be able to afford the first round of habitats being built. The first manned planning expeditions are due to arrive in some time late February of 2037. MC-03, MC-05, and MC-10 are regions that will be evaluated for colonization sites. Construction rigs are due to arrive some time in mid 2039. Beyond that, it would not be proper to discuss BTC, other than to say it is very much a part of day to day life before I left for the trip back. What do you think was responsible for helping to fund most of the research into time travel ?

Yes, those stats would be interesting to see. I bet JJG would crush all competition. Admittedly, I skip reading some of his most lengthy posts, as I'm just skimming through the new posts quickly due to lack of time. Anyway, my (hopefully in a near future) hat off to you JJG. You are a great contributor to the forum in general and the WO-thread in particular.
And you looked like such a normal person with good judgment, you had promise. hahahaahaha Don't worry, Arriemoller. Through the years I have had plenty of haters, and I don't even consider having haters to be a very BIG DEAL. Probably, if I had to read some of my stuff (which I tend NOT to), then I would likely become annoyed as fuck, too. So, yeah, I feel sorry for you guys (and gal) having enough patience to put up with me. . (don't get me wrong.. I am NOT suggesting that I am planning to change my ways.... I am planning to continue to be annoying... maybe not as bad as V8 or jojo.. or the blindmayor who disappeared.. or rosewater foundation (same persona).... or bawb.. #nohomo.... or hhhhhhhhaaaaaaiirrrryyyyy (who I heard is NOT even hairy) ... . .but surely somewhere in that neighborhood... hahahahaha) His personality is way too abrasive for me, I have him on ignore.
Except for when you don't.

No I will not read and respond to the report, it takes to long and isn't relevant to the Bolsonaro thing. It's a trick old as the hills, you throw a report (that you usually haven't read yourself and) out there for your opponents to read hoping they will just throw in the towel. And the fact that it is published in a reputable magazine, does not mean that it isn't biased.
Reputable periodicals will typically vet studies like this quite intensely. Peer review isn't perfect, but it's far more objective than an NRA sponsored report printed in their house organ or a random blog post on the Daily Stormer. I will respond to the headline though.
So you're sticking your fingers in your ears and going "nyah nyah"? :-) What are they saying with their report? basically, they are just stating the obvious, People without guns don't commit suicide with guns. Is that even in dispute? The real question is, does it matter? did suicides go down? or did people go on committing suicide with other means? I think you know the answer. People without guns don't have have accidents with guns, again quite a nobrainer, if you own something that you can have an accident with some people are going to have accidents, if that is a knife, car, gun, or anything else really doesn't matter. Accidents happen, what's their point? And lastly, gun related homicides fell, again, yes so what? that's to be expected, but did homicides fall? or did people just switch weapons? I'm guessing the latter. They just don't like guns and are a using science paper to scare people by stating the obvious. 1) Read it. Check the data. Think and be willing to change your mind if the data is accurate. 2) Cut it out with the strawmen arguments. Focus on one discussion at a time. Now, on Bolsonaros relaxation of gun laws, his point is that if good citizens have the ability to shoot the bad guys, the bad guys will think twice before trying to rob someone, in the beginning that might very well lead to more gun deaths, as the bad guys are being culled, but that's not a bad thing, it's just according to plan. Sounds great! Got any studies or evidence to back this up, I seem to recall people saying there were plenty of them. I guess Dirty Harry movies would count for something... If the answer is you're just pulling this out of your ass, that's fine. It's called bullshitting and people love to do it. Just never, NEVER confuse bullshit with data or try to suggest that bullshit should be taken over data and facts. And the statement "this time it's different" is equally bullshit. Here I'll bullshit with you: I think people should be allowed to own and carry .303 to .50 cal heavy machine guns. Partially because they would be useful to fight off pirates on a seastead, partially because the chance of walking into a mall with one and shooting people is pretty much zero. But that's bullshit, it's not supported by any data. Really. Play with BS all you want, but when you need to make a real decision always follow the data and urge others to follow the data. Otherwise you're just someone's tool.

What do you think was responsible for helping to fund most of the research into time travel ? It's not going to do many of us much good without life extension (or real rejuvenation would be even better)... that is part of my point... ... I suppose I was hoping for something more concrete for the next couple of years (because I have already been investing and largely HODLing for 6.5 years), or maybe if you are not able to provide info for the next couple of years, then at least an alternative request would be to let some of us know about 5 years from now (I mean that would be 11.5 years invested in bitcoin for me, so I feel that I have some street cred to be able to know, no?). First of all, you were telling us 2036 and then you resorted to 2037, and yeah, maybe if I were in my 20s, then I would not have any real problem with your timeline.. but those of us who are double (or more than double that age), we don't have a lot of time to be farting around with futures that are so damned far out, unless some kind of life extension or maybe guaranteed rejuvenation (something that actually works in a concrete way, not just bullshit propositions).
