Bitcoin as a censorship-free money has been used by outlaws of all sorts, but this time the outlaw is a young scientist from Kazakhstan breaking through the paywalls of academic journals. ... The website, called Sci-Hub ... Elbakyan told CoinDesk the website sees about 600,000 visits each day ... Elbakyan says bitcoin only constitutes a small part of all donations. Most often, it’s the online payment service Yandex ... In 2018, University of Pennsylvania postdoctoral fellow Daniel Himmelstein and a group of other scholars found that Sci-Hub raised more than 94 bitcoin, worth about $900,000 at recent prices

For past couple of seasons, I've been staking the main stem down parallel to ground exposing all nodes to full sun and they turn into multi-stem high yield monster bushes. ^I always thought those dudes were the lollipop guild all growed up. LibertyX Allows BTC Purchases in Cash at 7-Eleven, CVS, and Rite AidIn a June 22 announcement on LibertyX’s Twitter account, the crypto ATM service company said customers of retailers including 7-Eleven, CVS Pharmacy, and Rite Aid would be able to buy Bitcoin (BTC) with cash.
Users need to have the LibertyX mobile app installed, select which retailer location they will visit in advance, and scan their barcodes at the time of purchase. According to LibertyX, crypto holders can buy between $20-$500—up to 0.052 BTC as of this writing—with transactions processed in minutes for a small fee. https://cointelegraph.com/news/libertyx-allows-btc-purchases-in-cash-at-7-eleven-cvs-and-rite-aidhttps://twitter.com/libertyx/status/1275089855689654273

Interesting thoughts about whether we would keep human form or evolve into a "connectome". https://www.wsj.com/articles/looking-forward-to-the-end-of-humanity-11592625661 [could be a paywall, but not for me] During the months of lockdown, a sharp division emerged between people who work with information—images, words, numbers—and people who work with objects—shelving groceries, delivering packages, nursing the sick. The former can shelter in place and communicate through screens, but the latter have to venture out into the physical world, putting themselves at risk of infection... ...As technology makes it possible to escape more of the burdens and dangers of physical existence, this class and professional divide could deepen into an existential one, with a virtual elite being served by an embodied working class....
2030-2040ish...sitting on a balcony in a citadel's loft...powering up Ryzen 700...activating avatars...checking night's account activities...the day's work is done. Profit re-invested in more assets. Sent connectome 239/EAG beam to the Mars colony to see how it could venture there. Eloi, meet Morlock. Yeah. Not a particularly novel idea. Oh well.

5$ fee
I was in the US last year and ATM fees were annoyingly high. Fortunately my card didn't have any fee on top of that, my mother and sister used theirs once, the fees were horrible, I paid for everything after that.

It has almost nothing to do with the products of H.G. Wells ideation. If anything, it resembles Greg Egan's writings with a sprinkling of "Altered Carbon"

So I was thinking on this whole trump rally thing without masks. If his supporters all show up and start getting sick and he takes away their right to mail in a vote then how the hell is he gonna get re-elected when they are all sick?
Doesn't much matter. All the BLM/Antifa fucktards should start dying off, en masse, in about a week from all the peaceful protesting. I didn't think of that, your right they are actually showing up to their rallies unlike trump supporters. But then again they are wearing masks. Some of them are wearing masks, sure...

Interesting, though I would guess that China's shitcoin will have all sorts of built in features to allow price and volume to be manipulated at will. Bitcoin would be a threat simply because you can't fuck with it by decree. Can't have that....
