This post saved me, since I was not really paying attention as usual to my desktop ticker.  THank you.

This is the move that removes the last of the weak hands I reckon. Only ones remaining after this are those who will hold to 0.

This is what I'm thinking as well; was waiting for that last wick down. I think we will stay here a few days then climb to about 25k in the next month or so but lets see, I'm no TA

So much for the claim the BTC has never fallen below the previous cycle. Just yesterday I feel like Saylor was on tv saying nobody has ever lost money on BTC that’s owned it for more than four years. A shame that is no longer true. I guess it’s a sign of a maturing market, but with all the doom and gloom out there it feels a bit like we’re about to fall off a cliff price wise.

So far it has only been purely symbolic - we haven't gone below $19k just a quick dive below $19100? But it ain't over, let's wait and see...  Cool

WHAT!?

As I was sitting here trying to do the community a service, I almost got liquidated for the last of my BTC.

Such a fast crash!  I saw it dip under $20k.  By the moment I got into my account, it was at 0.63% health.  I got in the 100 USDT I gathered earlier (and should have immediately added, duh).  Probably beat the liquidator bot by a few milliseconds...  It has already wicked below the liquidation price that I had before that deposit (~$19,170).

How fast can we fall another $2,000?  Undecided

Hey, look, don't trade! Just don't fucking trade. Not right now. This IS a financial advice. Don't do it. You're bad at it...  Cool

Am I the asshole for wanting to help a fellow long time WOer, who had the courage to ask for help for himself and his family?

I would have even helped someone like death_wish, had I not known he was a bitter person with a disgusting personality. Maybe that makes me gullible. Or maybe I feel like I can place a certain amount of trust into hatcoiners with a long reputation? IDK thats just me.

In my dictionary, begging is something negative when done for personal gain and in insidious ways.

I am sure that from death_wish's perspective, Dabs's charity for starving children is a reportable offense as well. And if I were to take his stupid bet, I am sure he would consider children's charity a form of "begging" as well and nag me for my money until I gave up.

So I am not taking any dumb bets like that since I am more than sure that Dabs has selflessly asked for donations on the behalf of others who were in need.

I am however very sure that he would not go around asking for money for personal profit and malicious intent. Whether on the forum on in a pm. And I am not going to bet on that either, because I don't feel like taking money out of the hands of a suicidal, broke troll.

You can help me. Smiley  Cool  Shocked  Shocked  Roll Eyes

Look how you can help: Every year, plant 10-200 trees. By the end of your life, you will have over 10.000 trees planet. Some of them will take their legacy to a thousand years in the future. And maybe yours as well if you write your name on them. Cheesy Cheesy

It really doesn't matter anyway. Things are going south yes, but it doesn't mean that this is the end of Bitcoin. Things will recover, the Fed will see to that when they are forced to reverse.

Everything is as I left it, except for some dust amounts of BTC that some unknown entity has been regularly depositing to my wallet. I guess this is done to "mark" my wallet and track any future movement of my coins. Well, FUCK YOU, whoever you are, your dust will never be moved from there, so feel free to send more...

I’d always thought that “dusting” was an urban legend, except that so many smart people report receiving these mysterious transactions.  It would be an awfully expensive way to do blockchain analysis; and dusting an address that already contains coins makes no sense.  The coin you already have can be tracked:  Where it moves to, what change it gives, what other coins it may merge with, etc.  How does merging another UTXO add any information helpful to the spies?  What am I missing here?  (The biggest privacy killer is, IMO, coin merge from one’s own change.)

[...]

Just refreshed my neurons with my passphrase on my Trezor.

They could track your future movements without marking it? They just need to know your address or do you mean by combing the dust into change and finding out your other addresses you have in the same wallet?

I don't know exactly how these entities use the "dusting" technique, and what exactly they want to accomplish, but it is definitely happening. It usually comes in waves. I would see a few "dust" transactions over a time period of a few weeks, then this "dusting" would stop and come back again at a later time. The amounts are exactly the same in each wave, and are under $1 each, at the time of "dusting". Maybe they want to track this "dust" as it moves together with the rest of the coins? Is this part of some statistical analysis algorithm? I don't know. But I will certainly not be moving this "dust" anytime soon...

Just found the following related article—not sure how good it is, but it does explain a few things.

I have said many times that for awhile now, we have already been below the previous cycle top in inflation-adjusted terms (real value, not b.s. manipulated CPI).  $19k in December 2017 dollars bought how much in goods and services?  How many dollars would now be required to buy the same goods and services?

If this doesn’t stop, then in inflation-adjusted dollars, we will soon approach Saylor’s original DCA (IIRC ~$11k mid-2020 dollars before he started buying more).

This is likely an attack on Bitcoin.  The product of high-capital, intentional market manipulation—not organic behaviour of a bear market.

Before, that was a hunch.  Now, I think the probability is approaching 1.  Have been meaning to write something about that; will do later...
