when looking at the alt market: 2nd generation coins (ETH, NXT) and the privacy enhanced coins (darkcoin, cloak..) and the copycats and the shitcoins, I get really scared.... I think if it wasn't to these coins the price of Bitcoin would be really lower than we even think, an example of how people invest in alts is by firstly buying bitcoin and converting it to the alt, the alt owners (miners, pumpers, developers...) usually hold most of the profits in which are usually huge. a look at ethereum: they already sold more than 31 million this makes for more than 15000BTC Why you'd drop any coin for vaporware is beyond me. And it's actually less than 15000, every day(?) the amount of ether per btc is dropped. This whole timed IPO where you receive successively less just feels wrong. Reminds me of crappy home-shopping channels where they flash how many items are left.

life should be about sharing and caring, not about hoarding for your own pleasure.
Says the guy who hoards bit coins.

BTC-E finally above Bitstamp again. Bitstamp and coinbase are at $580 with little movement....I don't think anything special is going to happen today.

BTC-E is above Bitstamp. Today is the day! But what does it mean? This has been proven to be bullish multiple times in the past. Even the most retarded emotional trader (aka BTC-e trader) has realized that selling below 580$ is pointless.

Hm, maybe it is an effect of the Russian proposed ban? But anything is news now, it seems

Of course it's not.
It's just that the current system full of bailouts and behind the scenes manipulation doesn't have much to do with "survival of the fittest". Or which traits are we trying to reward here?
Let's forget that at first the subject was about inflation and then education. Let's pretend that the subject was about the policy of central banks. Let's pretend that this isn't a religious forum full of mindless demagogy and attempts to make black and white seem the same. Now.. I agree that the policy of central banks is far from perfect. Their major fault has been to give the private sector too much freedom, without any need to be responsible for their actions. It's always funny to see bitcoin zealots swear at the ultra-liberal policies of central banks, while they are trying to market bitcoin as an ultra-liberal tool. That is the reason why I despise the majority of bitcoin fanatics, because they are mostly hypocrites whose only connection with economics has been through youtube videos. Too me, bitcoin fanatics are the same as Bolsheviks. Lot's of empty words about freedom and equality, but mostly they are just about gaining wealth and power by contributing as little as possible to the society themselves.
