Still no info about running only on 8pin power with cards that have 6+8pin connectors?

Thanks.

What price difference would you say makes the 500 series worth it over the 400 series?

None if u ask me. They don't hash any faster and there is still problems with the drivers, 6+8pin power connectors and so on. If u can get 470/480 cheap, go for it. Maybe the 580 will have a better resale value, and some come with spare vents, but that's about it.

I bought 5 each of Gigabyte Gaming 580 8gb, Gigabyte Aorus 580 8gb, and Msi 580 Armor 8gb. The Armor cards are absolute junk and I'm sending them back. Modded one of each card and got both Giga versions up to 29mh/s stable, Msi would never go over 26mh/s but mostly stays at 24mh/s and the mod and/or changing core/clocks only makes things worse. TBH I'm thinking about sending all the cards back and waiting on Vega. If these cards had done ~30mh/s they would have almost paid for themselves by the time Vega releases. MSI Armors are going back for sure! Total garbage. Cheap construction, no backplates, just nothing good to say about them.

I have similar experience. Sapphire 570 Nitro + 4GB - elpida - 24Mh, memory does not go even at 1850MHz, Polaris bios does not work Sapphire 570 Pulse 4GB - hynix - 22MHs - the same case Sapphire 580 8GB Pulse - Hynix - Memory timing is totally tragic, but it works by polaris editor, and strap 1750 and runs at 2150 = 27.3MHs - undervolt through afterburner - 175w on the wall on celeron 1151 skylake, Z270 My plan is to go to nVidia - I squeezed out of the cheapest 1060 3 GB stable 23.5MHs at 95-105w per card, 6x 1060 = 590-630 on the wall. The Asus Z270-A Prime runs on a 7-card configuration. 7x1060 164MHs per RIG. Soon, the gtx1060 version of the 9000 GHz memory will come out of it, maybe a little more.

Here's a short clip of my rig in progress: https://youtu.be/TgW85GmFzK4The sound levels/noise are IMHO extremely low! I'm blown away actually. Setup: Asus Z270P 4GB RAM Intel G4400 6x MSI RX 580 8GB Gaming X Corsair 1200 AXi Powerdraw at the wall with stock coreclock and mem at 2050, with stock memory strap ~1120W. Getting 24mh/s at the moment, need to do some tweaking!

I'm at 29.6 mh/s now with 1:1750 memory timings @ 1:2000, and clocks at 1140/2200. What are your settings?

We now know we can flash 4xx with 5xx bios. But can we flash 5xx with 4xx bios ? ( to stay with "old" drivers and don't have driver bios signature problem )

That's funny, I bought some of the MSI Armor RX580 8 GB as well and I am getting 30.5 Mh/s on each of them mining ETH while drawing about 105 watts/card measured from the wall, GPU-z shows 75-80W. May I ask how you modded them? I simply copied the 1:1750 strap to the 1:2000 and I am running 1125/2275 clocks with 0.900 core voltage. They work just as good as the RX480's, not any better but not really any worse either.

So from what I understand these cards are interesting in the mining purpose ? This is good, as I may be back to mining soon, and will probably go with these cards as they are barely priced the same as the RX 470/480. I remember that I saw somewhere on the Internet someone saying that this was a commercial rebrand without anything interesting in it. Hopefully it seems he was wrong.

A few GPU tests Sapphire 5xx. A few successes, but one problem. I use: Asus Z270F Strix - Without any problems, 7 GPUs work or MSI Z270-A Pro 6 GPU ready, I have tried, I currently operate about 10 Rigs without problem (RX 4xx) PolarisEditor by jaschaknack - https://github.com/jaschaknack/PolarisBiosEditor/tree/110aa3a5a0aeafe16bb0a96b53583e7e8e77999b SRBPolaris - BIOS editor AtiFlash 2,74 atikmdag-patcher-1.4.5 Wattool o.92 does not function Sapphire 570 4GB Nitro+ Hynix - strap 1750 - 1100/2050/-96mv-gpu/+20powertarget = 29,3MHs @ cca 156 on the wallSapphire 570 8GB Nitro+ Hynix - Strap 1750 - 1100/2100/-96mvgpu/+30powertarget = 29,6MHs Sapphire 570 4GB Pulse Elpida - strap 1750 - 1100/1910/-96mv-gpu/+30powertarget = 24MHs @ cca 150-160 on the wall Sapphire 580 8 GB Pulse Hynix - strap 1750 - 1100/2150/-96mv-gpu/+30powetarget = 27,3MHs @ Here I do not know exactly, a little more than 570, No more than 170 Sapphire 570 4GB Mini Elpida - strap 1750 - 1110/2040/-96mvgpu/30+target = 26,3-26,4 @ 164w on the wall = 169 USD newegg very nice Sapphire 580 8GB Nitro+ - Hynix - Strap 1750 - 1100/2200/-96mvGPU/50powertarget = 27,8MHs Hynix on 570 is better then Hynix on 580. Hynix on 570 timing 7777 @ 1750 but 580 hynix 999 @ 1750 but i have to check this because the problem is two different time sets 1: 1750 and 2: 1750 each for another set of memories. This is my tests, But I have a little problem. The signature for the modified bios driver is ok. But it does not work at the same time 570 with 580 on one motherboard. If the 4x 570 works and re-sign the driver, the 580 runs but does not run 570. Simply, it works either it or it. It does not work together. Does anyone have any advice or idea? Maybe a new Atipatcher?

Hi. Early Sapphire 470 8GB Nitro+ have 8000Mhz frequency, memory by Samsung. Now Sapphire 570 8GB Nitro+ have 7000Mhz frequency and memory by Hynix/ Are overclocking results stable on your Sapphire 570 8GB Nitro+ 8000+ Mhz, with memory by Hynix? I have idea for you:) You can try copy timings from samsung memory to hynix memory. This work on rx 470\480 and people having more hashrate. At your own peril and risk//

Reflashed orig vbios and redid the whole thing using 1:1750 to 1:2000, set -cvddc 900 in me .bat and the card is hashing dual at 30-31mh/s and 900+ dcr steady for about an hour now.
