Could anyone break down the algorithms for me in comparison with each other - intensity/elec/heat

For example equihash vs skein
Equihash runs hotter? Skein runs cooler than all other algo? Lyra is the most intensive followed by skein then equihash ?

Above aren't correct but what I'm looking for ^^

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

I see some posts on here debating the merits of 1070 vs 1080 ti, but what does everyone think of the 1080?  Surprisingly it seems like that card is never discussed much in other threads either.

if you already have one and want to join the party, fine, but dont buy a GTX-1080 for mining. Blame the GDDR5x (apparently).

The 1080 TI has GDDR5x too though....

I have just released nist5 and blake2s sp-mod (0.05btc each)

pm for details.

here is a comparison with ccminer 1.0.0 alexei. (gtx 1070 gigabyte g1 gaming +160 core, -500 memory)

NIST 5:

Blake 2s:

ppl ask about the current profit of blake2s. Zpool is taking 20-30% of the profit when they autoexchange, but the algo is still profitable. here is a snapshot.

Find another pool, and mine.

verge is good today

7GHASH = $4,41 / day
9GHASH = $5,67 / day

With (388 rigs)

Huh is that per card or per rig ?

which pool do you recommend for 1080ti and does your SP mod for blake2s work better ?

yup but it has other things to help, you know like memory bandwidth (484.4 GB/s vs 224.4 GB/s (FE edition specs)) and faster clock speed. Plenty other technical features and better specs that may or not help it with mining Smiley. That card is a beast.

I have many of them and they are a lot less trouble than any my AMD rigs. Zero downtime, no crash, no slow down or bugs like I have with my Rx-x80 and no fear to install a new driver, no need to use DDU, etc.

Hash/price ratio is better with AMD bur I hate those cards...

The rates are per card.

blake2s sp-mod #1 give you 10-15% more coins on the pool than the fastest opensource.

I was interested in buying sp mods, however paying for each algorithm separately is not a good pricing model. So I have decided to use open source options.

Maybe if you have a couple of rigs all with same gpus have sense to invest in.

Little off topic but having issues with my 1080 ti rig, do any of y'all use Suprnova? I'm having some issues with them and I can't get into contact with anyone from support. Have sent several emails over the past week or two and have yet to receive anything back. Thank you

It's better to pick one and stick with it with larger farm.   Some people act like they know it all so they will attack me blind (tip! know the person personally and how they think before you go on trying to prove me wrong).  I have enough 1080ti to make ROI less than a day.

Depends on the timing, risk and the trade.   This is coming from a person don't usually buy software.  When I saw SIGT I gamble on it.  It was one day ROI of the 25-35 days before SIGT goes POS.  I can't say the same for others because I don't know there setup.

If you have a lot of GPU's and make hundreds of dollars a day from mining, sure buy it, otherwise it make no sense paying $200 for sp_mod.

well said. And this thread shouldn't be a long ad for that mod.

I plan to build rig for signatum using EVGA 1080Ti 3fan top cards (reasonable price in my county vs other cards), need advice with PSU.

If I will OC them, I need ~2 good x 1200 gold\platinum PSU for 6 cards, right?

Well Max power draw I saw somewhere was around 320w per 1080ti. So yeah, you will need at least 2000W to run system stable .

Thanks for that answer as it helped me also!

On my gaming machine that is mining, I only have a 1000w psu but I was thinking about picking up a 3rd 1080ti and wondering if I can get by with this @ 70-80% power.  I could put it in my mining machine but didn't want to mix it in with 1060/1070s but seems like I could get away with it in my gaming machine.

It should go smoothly. Right now I have 2 Gigabyte Gaming X with 75% tdp  and power draw at wall is around 460-500w from whole PC (depending on algo and your CPU TDP )

Hello,

I have currently 1 x GTX970 and 1xGTX1060 , I have ordered a 1080ti evga.
I have a 750W power supply currently , do you think it will be enough when I add the 1080ti ?

Thanks
