As far as the privacy currencies go I'm not sure what else you would mine with a 1080ti right now.  ZCL?  About the same income.  Zcash even worse.

ZCL may be a better one to hold and have more merit vs. XZC in the long term.  I don't know.  I don't claim to be an expert.  Wink

ZCL was just  pumped x25, so IMHO it's time to sell, but not to hold, there are lots of other Z coins that wasn't pumped recently, I'm better will hodl them.

so what i can i mine with my 12x 1080 ti ?

Grin Grin either '12' or 'what i can mine' does not fit in the same statement.

A general comment. There is no need to ask every minute here, or run any calculator, to know the hottest coin of last second/minute/day, just go to a pool and look at the algo with more miners, there  is the best paying algo/coin. To know the best coin of the past is extremely easy.

Wow that difficulty continues to climb fast for XZC.  Everyone and their dog is apparently jumping on that ship.

funny, me and my friends all stopped mining it, some of us also dumped it.

It may continue to rise, I dont care, I never liked that project. Mining it with a 1080Ti was the only good part and now its over.

they have like the best secure and the most private protocol, more than zcash or monero... I bet its better to mine more profitable coins but i think that project is one of the best in the comunity

nope. Not even close. Not sure where you get those infos but you should reconsider your source. It is a mediocre coin at best. And those silly fees for the devs, ridiculous...

And ur arguments are....?

Did they finally removed the trusted setup ??

which one is better to mine? The 1080Ti, Vega -Cryptonight monsters- or the standard 1080? I have experience with Vega 56 cards because of a rig I built -it isnt mine though-. I want to buy a new rig, for personal use, and I'm doubtful about which one could be better for mining, if Vega or one of the GTX 1080Ti or 1080 models.

1080Ti (too much for my crippled pocket but I could try), Vega or the regular 1080... Which one would you recommend? I am more inclined to buy the regular GTX 1080, because of price, but well, any suggestions are welcome.

Hi all
I'm new to mining. Looking to build my first rig using 6 x Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Blower Cooler 11GB GDDR5X VR Ready Graphics Card, 3584 Core, 1480MHz GPU, 1582MHz.
Can this Blower Cooler model  be used for mining?
Asking as this particular model is £100 cheaper then other 1080ti

Thanks in advance

I've read multiple product reviews that have stated that the 1080 is more efficient (profitable) in terms of energy use vs hash power over the 1080 Ti.  I use the 1080 Ti simply because I want more hash power.  I would rather mine more coins faster because the rate at which the price of the coins have been going up more than makes up for the slight loss in power efficiency.

Just curious. When you mine with a 1080ti rig. Do all the cards need to be exactly the same? Say they are all EVGA but a couple are SC, SC2 and a couple FTW3. Would that cause a problem?

It is extra work if they have different TDP and base clocks. You will need to configure every card's clock, tdp and mem separately. Otherwise it works without problems.

Thanks for the insight CryptoJoel. So if you had the money and extra energy cost is not an issue you'd go with the 1080Ti, else you'd get the standard 1080.

Now, what about Vega? I'm torn between the standard 1080 or Vega. Which one could be better for my first true rig?  Smiley (I mine on a PC with a RX 570).

Happy New Year everyone!!

Vega is cryptonite monster, true, but in other algos it is not that superior. Pretty much limiting. 1080 ti is the king still for the time being.

Vega is good. But driver and all that dances with tamborine in order to make it run properly .... some kind of masohism.
If it is a new rig, after 10 nvidia rigs, made exactly for cryptonight and couple of other algos where vega shine than it's ok. In other case nvidia is dosen times better.
Also as time goes new miners appear. Like Nescrypt which was supposed to be 1080/ti failure became not the best but good algo to mine. Hashrate in Cryptonight can also be improved and nvidia performance can become good also.

I have been pondering the same question as it seems the prices of 1080ti's seem to be creeping up and up.

Just ask yourself, if you were selling a product that was beating all the competition and was still flying off the shelves at over retail prices would you want to release a new product to compete with yourself?

Short answer is don't expect Nvidia to be in any hurry to release Volta gaming cards. Maybe in 6 months. Early 2018 is not realistic.

Speaking of algos which is the most advantageous to use with a 1080ti when mining verge?  Mph supports scrypt some other pools lyra2v2 or x17.

By the time new cards are out you can pretty much roi (current situation considered) 1080 ti bought now. And when that happens, even then 1080 ti`s will kick ass, just wont be the "newest most powerful cardz". This was the dilemma i`ve had myself. Guess what - i`ve bought few more 1080 ti`s  Wink
