^^The above is from May 13th, a month ago. They have accepted Paypal, so presumably those paying by credit card will have some extensive buyer protection, especially Amex, which is worth the fees in this case.

You are still blind as to when they ordered their chips, which makes or breaks it relative to all the other bulk orders. They seem to be cagey about sharing these details, but they have received samples. A 64 chip board may be problematic as well. I just don't get why they would open now, when they could wait a couple of days and supposedly show you a working 16 board...

There will be no working boards in a few days, they have no firmware as yet.
If the chips are on their way the BIGGEST risk is having the firmware done in time if you assume everything else is truthful.

Assuming they got the parts they needed (a cap and a power connector), they should also be able to show an assembled board today.

what makes you think that,
the influx of pre-orders and a queue\assembly time, or actual chip availability?

+1
(I believe 30 days with paypal is the limit?) so if you had enough of waiting beyond 30 days, does terrahash offer a refund?
and..AMEX interest isn't cheap either....

And for what it's worth, Paypal in the US gives you 45 days to file a claim.

Ill guarantee you terrahash will not ship within 45 days..

As per Avalon’s documentation, batches will be shipped 9-10 weeks after purchase.  If terrahash finally submits the order this week, it will
POSSIBLY take delivery SEPTEMBER 1ST...

It was already stated that they had an order. If I find out that an order has not been placed, which is unlikely with them having received chips already, I will cancel.

I'm about 60/40 on the deal as to whether we'll see them before mid-august. That is my limit though, I want it enroute by 7/30.

I understand those not willing to take the risk and pull the trigger will yell out scam the whole time, to make themselves feel better about not getting into it. I decided to take the mitigated risk.

They already have sample chips and PCB, this plus offering PayPal/Cc as payment options would at least allude that are less scammy then 90% of offerings out there.

So probably we should insist to see the evidence of the chip order, at least provided to all the buyers!

I'm more worried about not being in their first batch of shipments. It's unclear how many orders they can cover today with their existing chip order, and it's also unclear if they ordered 10k or 20k chips, but there is no way they can even come close to covering all the orders that were already placed today with their existing chip orders.

That pushes a lot of today's pre-orders back 9-10 weeks for the next batch of Avalon chips to be delivered, and another 1-2 weeks for assembly.

I doubt they have enough Avalon chips ordered to cover all the orders in the 400s, but I hope they prove me wrong!

I think they started order # at 400, I ordered first few minuts and got 500's. Unless someone can prove otherwise, I think they can get up to order #600 or so.

To put things in perspective, a guy posted in this thread that he had a 43x order for 2 DX larges. That single order would use up 64 chips per K64 * 10 K64s * 2 DX larges = 1280 Avalon chips!

I got the feeling that folks from the early chip batch orders will be mining before TH can get the first unit out the door.

Let's create a list of what you bought with order # so we can track how many avalon chips. Then return them if we think we won't make it lol.

Some of you are forgetting to consider the price of BTC this morning with the flash buy.   With 5% btc discount and the 8-9% increase in BTC price this morning, I'm considering the purchase almost a free one. I'm risking the profits from today alone. I had accepted that I only had X money yesterday when I went to bed. Today I have X money and some new asic hardware that may or may not deliver on time.  I'll buy back in when we dip back to  101.
It doesn't matter where you got your money to spend...  the risk is still the same.

You would think that terrahash could post one little update today after having taken in at LEAST $500,000.00 of your hard earned money so far!!!
