Afterburner cannot alter Vega drivers yet as they are still in beta.  I hope they will allow full access eventually as I dont want to use wattman, some prefer to use OverdriveNTool to access the figures directly but that requires the custom profile be selected and applied first within wattman.
I'm using OverdriveNTool and it is working good regardless of what settings are selected in Wattman.
I'm using AMD Radeon Settings for HBCC only

Wattman is part of AMD drivers. Open up AMD’s Radeon Settings app and click the Gaming tab, then Global Settings, and finally the Global WattMan tab.

Who is the best for vega ? wattman or afterburner ? thanks .
Wattman + overdriventool + notepad with regedit are the best

Thanks for this information. What does notepad mean?

I assume it means you get edit the registry file with notepad to customize clocks, voltages, etc.. Well that's what I did anyway Tongue

New beta driver released.

http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-Beta-for-Windows-10-Fall-Creators-Update-Release-Notes.aspx

It's worth to try.
Almost as good as blockhain driver in eth hashrate, but you can adjust clocks like in a standard driver before.

I get 43.2 MH/s with modded wega 56.

Has anyone tried these already? I got my 4x Vega64 rig working steadily with win10. I got about 7900H/s with 740W rig overall power drawn from wall. If linux drivers can offer more performance im intrested to change to the Linux.

Got my 3 x Vega 56, with original BIOS, doing 1800 H/s (XMR) @ 160W each. Total system on the wall: 570W (cause iGPU is active)

The system is stable, mining non-stop.

64 bios only helps to increase power consumption... unless you use the Soft Power Table at Windows regedit. This method, way more complicated, will push the V56 to stable 1880H/s with slightly less power (560W for 3 V56).

Wattman Settings (Blockchain Beta driver):
-30% GPU Frequency;
950 HBM Frequency;
Fans at 3500 - MAX (Ignore core thermals. What you need is to have the memory below 70º to keep the high hash rate. An undervolted gpu will be fresh enough to not auto raise the blower speed, hence not cooling the memory. At 25ºC ambient temperature I needed 3500RPM set at min speed);
Power Limit -20%.

Globaldrive settings (Blockchain Beta driver):
Crossfire disabled;
HBCC on, at max memory available (I'm with 16Gb RAM).

Important note on HBCC:
Every restart, every time you unplug the monitor/dongle, every time you simply turn off the monitor, HBCC will get disabled and hash rate will go down.
I recommend having an HDMI Ghost/Dummy Dongle like this. It's way more efficient than a monitor 24h powered on.

When accessing the machine remotely via team viewer, go to Actions > Log off Settings and disable the windows log out on team viewer session end. The log of will not disable HBCC but the next log in will.

XMR-STAK-AMD settings (2 threads / gpu):
Code:
"gpu_thread_num" : 6,

"gpu_threads_conf" : [
    { "index" : 0, "intensity" : 2016, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false },
    { "index" : 0, "intensity" : 1600, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false },
    { "index" : 1, "intensity" : 2016, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false },
    { "index" : 1, "intensity" : 1600, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false },
    { "index" : 2, "intensity" : 2016, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false },
    { "index" : 2, "intensity" : 1600, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false },
]

If you can't have the above settings working stable...
-Do a Clean Install of the Blockchain Beta driver (Clean install on AMD's setup screen is enough)
-Activate HBCC for all cards;
-Apply Wattman settings;
-Start with 1012+1012 intensity and make it stable. That should give you 1600 H/s;
-Then raise it to 1512+1512 intensity. That should give you 1700 H/s;
-Finally, push it to 2016+1600 intensity.

Why not just test it yourself? Obviously yes you can get the same result, but you can also get more H/s if you take advantage of the higher HB2 clocks on vega 64.

I just tried it.  Radeon settings would crash system, I didn't spend too much time investigating why, I just reinstalled Blockchain drivers.

ETH hashrate almost as good as BC driver. You can adjust gpu clk and gpu voltage properly.
Monero hashrate much worse than on the BC.

Same here. After removing old 23aug blockchain drivers with DDU I tried to install new drivers. Success. Until I opened radeon settings. Blue screen and crash.
Well, I reinstalled Windows10 from scratch. And tried to install new drivers - during install blue screen and crash.
Seems that new driver doesnt like my 4x Sapphire Vega56 cards ( stock BIOS ).

I have this strange wattman bug with my vega 64 where i have to close wattman from the taskbar before it sets the right changes to get a higher hashrate.

I do all the changes, lower the clockspeed to 1002, up the memory to 1100, power limit -24 etc.. apply changes and 38.5 is the highest i get.. up from about 31 at default, but when i close wattman from the taskbar and just keep it going in the background it suddenly ups the hashrate from 38 to 43.

*edit* mining ethereum with claymore that is.

anyone try mining xmr with vega on linux with the new driver? I'm wondering if it works, if HBCC works and the hashrate is as high as windows.. and if more than 4 cards can use HBCC on linux

This would be awesome but the support from AMD on the blockchain drivers is nearly nil. We can hope tho.

Vega with XMR is the best GPU for mining.... the matter is the maximum  4 gpu per rig and linux support would be great also

What happens when you mine more than 4 VEGA-s?

As I've seen the HBCC is somehow working on other 2 cards but instead of 14GB memory, it says last 2 have 11GB memory which is more than te stock 8GB. So somehow it works partly.
I'm using the freshly released fall creators driver which sucks on monero hashrates.

If you use more than 4 Vega cards in a rig, God will smite you instantly - leaving a small crater where your house used to be.

I will find out if there is a world exists after 4th vega with BC driver.
