Fresh install of Fall creators update.
Download/unpack AMD drivers.
Shut machine down.
Install 3x Vega cards
Remove network cable
Boot machine and install drivers with no network connection.
Reboot machine
Go into crimson, enable HBC max.
Reboot
Connect ethernet
Begin mining XMR, 3,500h/s for 3x Vega 56x

Grrrrrrr

you don't need HBC turned on and set your pagefile as high as possible.
On/off it does not make a difference. System memory is at 16GB and pagefile is at 70GB.
Just to be sure... you have set your bios to UEFI, right?... What's your mobo btw? Have you updated the BIOS?

What is your hashrate with 2 vegas? Maybe the third vega is causing the issue.
Disabled HBC, restarted, running two miners, 2,000h/s

Code:
"gpu_threads_conf" : [
    { "index" : 1, "intensity" : 2016, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false },
    { "index" : 2, "intensity" : 2016, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false },

have you tried other miner software? Claymore (with built-in overclocking)?

...disabled crossfire?

Claymore
XMR-Cast
XMR-Stak

Crossfire disabled via registry keys and double checked in Crimson.

Fuck... I'd really like to help you there but I don't have any experience with Vega so I'm not much use... Sad
I'm starting to think one of your GPUs might just be flaky. Or actually maybe the mobo slot. You said you managed to get two working full speed... could you try adding the third to a different slot (using a riser I guess)?

Not all gpu are made equal. some of them need more voltage and can sustain lower frequencies. you need to adapt.

I agree.  I found it easiest to flash my 56's to 64's, then start with core 1300mhz 925mv w/ 965mhz mem and tweak from there.  I had an XFX that couldnt clock 1000 mem.

I was wondering if anyone has tried the 17.11.1 drivers that were released 2 days ago. I know from a previous driver 2 weeks ago you can use 12 cards now in windows, but the performance was lacking (1600-1700 h/s per card) has anyone tried these new drivers yet and are they still limiting the h/s or are they now the same as the blockchain drivers.

Hi there. I have 8X Vega 64 Liquid Edition 6xSapphire 1xMSI 1xXFX. I use the Fall Creators Update Win 10/64bit PRO. I use latest drivers 17.11.1, I run on Core I7 7700k @ 4.5Ghz, ASUS B250 Mining Expert 19GPU Motherboard, 250GB SSD 130GB Page file Samsung, 4GB of Ram(Upgrading to 16gb Gskill 3200MHZ CL 14-14-14-32 next week) And finally I am using Risers revision 7C (RED). 3X EVGA 850W EPlatinum 1X EVGA 850W Gold. I am running Nicehash Cryptonight stable 24/7 7 days a week. 1370W from the wall total system power consumption using settings in Wattman GPU clock P2 Min/Max 1299Mhz MEM Clock 1100 1500RPM -15% power limit 40C Temp in London UK in a room with open Window. I am Using internal GPU Intel 630 running on HDMI cable. I am getting a total fixed 1380 HASH from each card stable and fixed solid. 11050 in total and it does not fluctuates. Feel free to ask me any questions. MY questions are. will I see any effect once I upgrade my memory to 16GB? And should I put 20GB page file per card totaling 160GB instead of the 130GB Now that I have. Turning HBCC off/on or turning GPUs from the device manager or downgrading to Blockchain drivers does nothing for me. Thank you.

So I have an interesting finding..

I have to re-enable HBC after every reboot. I can enable HBC for the first two listed cards in Crimson just fine, but once I get to the third listed card and enable HBC on it.. once Crimson comes back that third card is no longer listed in Crimson. Windows still sees the device but I cannot use card #3 at all, cast and stak both report it does not exist. If I reboot, HBC shows as enabled in Crimson but I get shit hashes. Once I toggle on/off HBC on the cards then I'm hashing again at full speed. However I am unable to ever enable HBC on card #3.. and I'm scared to even plug card #4 back in now..

Gonna go pull the 3rd card and see what happens then..

Okay surprise surprise.. with two cards if I toggle HBC on card #1 it works just fine. If I toggle HBC on #2 (previously working) now card #2 disappears from Crimson.. it's always the "last" listed card in Crimson. This is quite interesting.

Vega 56 can show 1800-1900 h/s on the cryptonight, which is quite proficient if fan noise does not cause problems

guyz, if I'm totally new for amd vega and never had amd before, can somebody to share the guide how to prepare vega 56 to mine cryptonight coins?
I heard there full guide on reddit, but can't find a link for it
My take on this is, if you've never had any experience with setting up AMD hardware and aim at getting multiple Vega's set up for mining, you're up for a lot of pain, you masochistic person! Cheesy

Grin Grin Grin dude, I'm in tears here.  Truer words were never said...

Vega is doable but probably not where you want to start with AMD cards.

Yes, quite well in fact.

I've got 13 AMD 470/570s running on two Ubuntu rigs, and I still don't feel read for Vega. Even though I just now bought four. In for a world of hurt...
