anyone have ASUS ROG STRIX VEGA 64's and nitro plus vega 64 powerplaymod files?

i had order that,it will come tomorrow.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Why would the registry files be any different than the stock blower style cooler? It's the exact same card.. It baffles me how people think changing the outside cooler turns it into a completely different card. If the core and memory are the same (from same manufacturer), the card will perform exactly the same (apart from better thermals of course)...
strix is arrived and testing.i had use PPmod regfile same Airblower model. it works fine.
now testing.... Wink Wink Wink

Hi, do you mind sharing your ASUS Strix Vega 64 BIOS with me? Can I know if the model that you get are using Samsung/Hynix memory?

I have acquired an ASUS Strix Vega 56 recently, but with Hynix memory, and it seems that while I can push the mem clock to 950, and subsequently hashing it at about 1.8k - 1.9k, all it produces are just invalid shares on both XMR-stak & Cast-XMR. I can only somewhat reliably hashing with 900 Mhz @ 1.75 kh/s, and it still produces trickles of invalid shares. Seems like better cooling solution could potentially come with a downside of worse silicon lottery.

Thanks.

Are you sure your card has Hynix HBM2 memory or you just using old gpu-z?

sorry,sir i had re-upload vbios here.

by the way,i had start mining EDC last night,100000EDC also mined. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Thanks for sharing! Unfortunately I can't apply it on my 56 as subsystem ID mismatch error shows up during ATIflash, since it's Samsung vs Hynix, i imagine it's not compatible.

I have three Vega 56 cards mining monero. A friend wrote the drivers for me and they are in Minnesota running in below zero degree weather. Pulling 6350 hashes currently. Wouldn't recommend any other card for monero mining.

New models are coming.  Sapphire has a nice 3 fan version that ressembles the FURY they had a while back.  But until those get on the market....there wont be any for sale methinks.  And when they do...profitability is really good so they will fly off the virtual shelves.

I am using a software called DeepFreeze on two 4xvega56 mining rigs to freeze any changes in my working virgin windows/vega installation.

The freeze state boots with a fresh windows installation, no updates whatsoever,  with the  23aug blockchain drivers manually installed by device manager, and no regedit mods.  A virgin installation.  It always boots in this state.

After booting, I have scripts that apply the regedit powerplay mods, reboots the drivers using CRU.exe, uses devcon.exe to disable/enable the cards a few times in a row, and finally applies a custom overdriventool.exe profile , followed by xmr-stack-amd.exe. I never had a hashrate drop in one week of running, tested across many reboots.  Always static performance.  until now....

One of the rigs, after running perfectly for one week without hashrate drops, its now beginning to drop the hashrate after a few hours.  Again, windows installation is frozen to the same state as one week ago. No updates, no driver changes.   This hashrate drop purely caused by another variable affecting the cards.  The other twin rig, has no problems whatsoever.

I have tried without success to:
- Decrease core/mem speed
- Increase Fan RPM by a lot

My latest try was to increase the voltages, which were already on the high side (0.980v).

If someone has a clue as to why 4 perfectly running vegas started to hashrate drop in a frozen windows installation, please share!

What miner are you using? Any recent temperature increases on the cards? Are temps in check?
Assume it was a significant hash drop?

xmr-stack-amd

As I said above, one of the possible changing variables (everything else is fixed by deepfreeze) was the cards temperature. Raising the card fan speed didn't solve the issue. They all sit at about ~55ºc (hbm 65ºc).

The drop is about 300 h/s on each of the 4 cards. It appears to happen simultaneously on all cards.

The ASUS ROG Strix, Sapphire Nitro and the Powercolor Red Devil have been out for a while already lmao. There are people already using them. They sold out imediately as soon as they were made available. There are people already mining with them lol so good lucky trying to buy more than 1/2 at an inflated 60%+ price.

Prices are a little crazy but cards are out there. You can grind away on the local secondary markets - craigslist, letitgo, etc. I been fairly successful going that route.
If you believe the ads, my local craigslist has 30ish Vegas for sale - granted all used and at 1.5x prices

Just checked the power comsumption direct on the 12V lines.
Complete system system celeron g3900,4gb ddr4, 320gb hdd,3vega56@64 Bios hbm2 1050mhz/900mv gpu 1403mhz/900mv@Overdrive, dps-800gb server psu
Vega 1. 8Pin 5.42A   2. 8Pin 4.96A    riser 2.07A   complete 12,45A x 12,1volt 150,64 watt

1,77A x 12.1volt to mini psu for mainboard,cpu,hdd = 21,41watt
complete system 520watt on the wall and around 5500h/s with 2vega, and celeron also on xmr.
So psu efficiency from 90,57%, arround 80 PLUS Gold and 80 PLUS Platinum. Not bad Smiley

And it seems not that only the fan is from the riser powerd, but didn't removed it Wink

Who is buying these things at 800 dollars? At that rate why not go with a 1080 Ti? The Vegas are only amazing at Cryptonight from what I can tell.  Almost a cryptonight ASIC as a mining card...

lol, been playing with blockchain and adrenalin computer drivers for Vega FE

Previously had 2 FE's running at 2000H/s+ but highish power, now stuck at low hash with low power

Showing 349W at wall for 2 cards + mobo but memory stuck at 500MHz despite overdriven tool set at 1107

This gets 1200H/s on each card

This despite a clean load of drivers, bounce etc

Can't seem to get the balance between low power and performance Grin

oh well keep trying for 2000+ at 150W

PS  Roll Eyes Fixed one thing - now 1600H/s at 150w each
