If you would take a 10 minute read on the official website https://deeponion.org/ all your questions will be answered. Theres a example of how the coins are distributed in the airdrop and how the percentage you get is calculated.

Damn, I have never liked math and did not excel at it. It hurt my brain reading the example below, but it makes sense.

For example, in 17th round airdrop, a total of 300,000 ONIONs will be distributed. If there are 80 jr, 100 member, 40 full mem, 70 sr mem, 50 hero, 20 legends, and you are a senior member, then you will get: 300000*1.1/(80*0.8 + 100*0.9 + 40*1 + 70*1.1 + 50*1.2 + 20*1.3) = 940 ONIONs

I think it is a good approach to distribute the coins freely. I think this is going to be a really succesful project, if it goes as planned: transactions working over TOR, and so on.

Unfortunately even if you get to the rank of Jr. member, you will still not qualify for the airdro. Can this function be adopted by others coins too? In this case I think the popularity of DeepOnion will increase a lot.

It can and in the way already is. Bitcoin scripting language has an operator, whose sole purpose is to store data on blockchain. Moreover you don't even need a special script operator to do this, in fact data & messages had been stored on bitcoin blockchain before that operator was introduced. That said, no Bitcoin wallet has a frontend for creating this type of transaction. So even though you are able to store hashes of files on bitcoin blockchain (or any blockchain for that matter) you'll have to construct that transaction programmatically through a console, which not an easy thing to do. So the fact that DeepVault will construct such transaction for you and all you'll have to do is click on a button is pretty big in my book.

Just for laughs, here's an example of bitcoin transaction used to store a text message on blockchain (this is not my transaction, it was posted on bitcointalk some time ago and I just bookmarked it)
