As of right now, the bitcoin price is expected to keep going up in the next 20 years. But can it last that long? I believe it's possible. But can't it crash at a random time? Like the price going down hard.
We could see bitcoin price rising very high.Its getting legalized in more countries.Mass adoption is taking place all over the world.Bitcoin has successfully overcome all critical issues.But after twenty years,when quantum computing will be introduced,it would become a serious threat to bitcoin and its security would be compromised.It is said that quantum computers would read the private keys from the public key and if it happens,it would be a great disaster to bitcoin. |

Is only the government policies could stop growth of bitcoin thats if it possible given the decentralize nature of bitcoin , otherwise bitcoin has come to stay for a long time. Although, if it does not transform to fiat / paper money, then some day, it will lose it value either to another cryto or something replacing crpto because nothing stays permanent for ever except God.
You are absolutely right that noting stays permanent for ever except Allah. In my opinion more and more governments are going to legalize bitcoin as I was reading somewhere in this forum two days ago that the government of India regularize bitcoin and there were some links to governments websites about that announcement which I do not studied/read but it just an example that different countries are working on it. |

I also have the tendency to think that the advances of computer technology in twenty years possibly make the current bitcoin protocol seem rudimentary. I would hope that in the course of these years the bitcoin evolves in such a way that it can face these challenges with solidity; nevertheless since ethereum arose, we all began to think that the hegemony of bitcoin may not be eternal and the possibility that a new altcoin arises with enough strength to displace the bitcoin is always latent, so in twenty years maybe this nightmare of every bitcoiner comes to fruition. |

As long as there are users, Bitcoin will continue to exist. Even if major pools decide to stop mining Bitcoin, users could take the lead and start mining it, and mining would be much more decentralized in the hands of many users.

Yes, we are the blood of bitcoin and as long we keep on using bitcoin the economy of bitcoin will just move forward. We don't have to worry about it if those major pools stopped mining, it will not be dead as others will take that chance as an advantage. I would assume that bitcoin can last 50-100 years including the upgrades. |

I completely agree. Bitcoin now only becomes more popular and receives more and more adherents every day. It will exist while the Internet exists. Now I do not see any reason for Bitcoin to lose its price. |

Based on what I can see and what I've experience on bitcoin, I can say that it's life span will be longer than we expected. I can think of it as part of our living someday just like what most people say that it is the future currency. It can be accessed all over the world and the transactions can be made wherever and whenever as long as you have good internet connection. We all know that the influence of bitcoin has already drastically grown due to it's high value that's why I think it will make more innovation so that it will be capable to handle as many as the people all around the world. |

I think bitcoin can last long. We all know that there are already a lot of people who are interested on it so why would you end something that people are running for. You can say that it may crash but I know that there would be a lot of innovations that will be made to enhance bitcoin's capability to avoid such unfortunate events. The faith that bitcoin will last forever depends on the people itself because bitcoin is only doing its job and our job is to believe on it. |

The current trend of bitcoin will be the same as you say, it will be more popular than ever in the next few years, the price of bitcoin will also be higher because many countries are spending a lot of attention on bitcoin and want to bring bitcoin into use in real life, Japan is the leading country in bringing bitcoin into use in real life. certainly do not know. but many believe that it really happened. I personally am not so sure will survive. even recently china does not recognize ico. and caused a major influence on the bitcoin that dropped dramatically in just how many hours.

Bitcoin will continue to exist as long as there are computers connecting to each other over the internet. Simple as it sounds.
While that is true if bitcoin was only used by two people that exchanged bitcoin among them, bitcoin will still technically exists and be used but at that point bitcoin will be useless and irrelevant and I think that is not something that anyone in the forum wants, so it is not only a matter of survival it is a matter of bitcoin being useful for the people and I do not see a reason why bitcoin will stop doing exactly that especially now that segwit has been activated. |

I agree with you, maybe at this time we do not need to think much over the next 20 years and I think too far if you have such a forecast, it might be better now to do activities that can be done in bitcoin to earn income. good income from trade or investment profits.
I never thought that bitcoin will vanish I mean that it will lose. But as of now we think of today that this cryptocurrency is a big help for us. So if this bitcoin will last long so we are blessed. So its a blessings for us. It will last as long as technology exist. Who ever taught btc will be this successful and will reach this amount. Btc have still lot to offer and its just starting. More developments wull be happen in the future . So we should work hard now. Bitcoins for sure should be treated like a blessing and I really don’t see them wiping out from earth in the near or far future. Bitcoins have just begun their journey. There are many things rather surprises that are waiting for us in the future. We should keep holding to bitcoins for enjoying them. |

I'm sure bitcoin can last up to 30 years, this is because the increasing user and the number of developers who continue to develop bitcoin. and most importantly is the number of countries that legalize bitcoin like japan and south korea.

Yeah it can be possible that bitcoin can be last long. And nobody can say or know what is the end for bitcoin, it was very hard to predict because bitcoin is very volatile and unpredictable, even the experts didn't know what is the end of bitcoin/ how it can be last. |

The market value of Bitcoin can crash at any time depending on what the investors want to happen. It would require a conscious effort from basically everyone invested in Bitcoin to crash the price, meaning everyone stops buying and people keep selling. That's the only way that they would be able to crash the value, and that's nearly impossible outside of variables influencing everyone to sell instead of hold or buy. As for Bitcoin staying alive for such a long period of time, it is possible if the community wants to stay with Bitcoin for that long, and so far it looks like the community is going to keep supporting Bitcoin. Its unpredictable for me. Because its depending on the investors. Because if theyre still invesring maybe bitcoin will not die because it is being trusted. Also its unpredictable because of the unstableness of the value of bitcoin. |

Logically speaking, Bitcoin will last until there is still an individual using it. I believe and I hope that Bitcoin will be still patronize by a lot of people until the future. my only wish to bitcoin is to continuously upgrade their features so that they will be still on the line. |
