I seriously believe crypto community should understand nothing lies in price, what actually matter is "UTILITY". instead of growing number of exchanges, I wanna see growing number of Bitcoin merchants. So don't consider price to be the decisive factor of Bitcoin success or failure.

The market value of Bitcoin can crash at any time depending on what the investors want to happen. It would require a conscious effort from basically everyone invested in Bitcoin to crash the price, meaning everyone stops buying and people keep selling. That's the only way that they would be able to crash the value, and that's nearly impossible outside of variables influencing everyone to sell instead of hold or buy. As for Bitcoin staying alive for such a long period of time, it is possible if the community wants to stay with Bitcoin for that long, and so far it looks like the community is going to keep supporting Bitcoin.

And also if bitcoin keep going like this without any improvement (which is i hope segwit or what ever they called it successfull) can make  bitcoin itself dying,with high transaction and high fees only some people using it as a tool for their transaction.just imagine if we need to wait a hour or two for every transactions ( lets use 100k satoshi for fee [approx 2,6$] ) and we made around 10 transactions or even more how much we will spend it just for fee ? That's why a some of big company still not using it ( even thought many of them think bitcoin is not a real investment.

since it has been popular and accepted in recent years so that it can be assumed that Bitcoin will last long. day by day it is getting available at everywhere, many developed countries are considering it to allow as a legal currency, already Japan has declared as legal currency, South Korea also has taken it seriously to allow it... so the future of bitcoin is certain from my point of view...

i think it is depending on the interest of the people. bitcoin will remain tell people will have interest in it. and currently the interest of the people is increasing therefore the importance of bitcoin is also continuously increasing, i am hopeful that this trend will continue for a long time.

Bitcoin price can rise and fall with great uncertainty. No one can really say for sure if the price would continue to rise or fall. It depends on the supply of Bitcoin and demand for it. Bitcoin is a deflationary currency, because of it halving. Every 4 years ... I think, block reward halves and supply decreases. So a decrease is supply often invokes an increase in price.

Plus with the mainstream media attention Bitcoin should thrive in demand. Thus we have a situation where the price would rise, but if the demand was to fall all of a sudden, then  yes, Bitcoin can become worthless.

There are number of factors which will decide the fate of bitcoin. The demand curve, Utility, Security and most importantly sustaining its position in the financial landscape.

 Nobody have mentioned it here, but I want to bring a different perspective to this discussion. What if some new and completely different kind of currency came into existence in future that is more reliable than cryptocurrencies as technology and invention will not end on cryptocurrencies. There is more to come. Thus, I would say nobody can really predict when bitcoin will end.

I agree with you bitcoin will last forever up to a few dozen years, it will not be able to stop working abruptly because the current bitcoin is growing very strongly it may be recognized as a copper Legal money in the future.

no one knows what's going on in the future so the crash that cause bitcoin can't survive may indeed exist and all speculation is on 1st august. it's better to follow the things that happen in the future.

Crypto is speculation, and basically all of the crypto still based on the speculation such as there is a lot of the ico that aimed to be the best one that still being a speculation. i will not believe the hardfork will be happening in 1 august.

100% this. Nobody knows. There are a lot of BTC speakers in conferences that appear to be smart and all knowing but really they dont have any idea what they are talking about. If you ask each and one of them how long it could last, you will get a different answer from each of them. Their answers could also change after some time too as BTC develops.

No one can predict how long a bitcoin will last. In my opinion, bitcoin will last for at least 20 years. It will die if there is no change in the future.
I believe if there is a reasonable change bitcoin will last a long time, even in the future it can replace the currency
