I have recently took investing on poloniex serious. Ever since I've invested the alt coins have been down. Do the amount of coins I posses go up if I stay. Also, do I have to wait for the coins to go back to their original price that I bought fo in order to make a profit? What are the reasons to holding if prices are down? Thank-you.

Just sit back and stay calm. There are downs in the cryptos. All you have to do is do nothing. Just hold and hold still. They will soon recover and earn value in the weeks to come. Holding is for patient people, bro. Be patient. Or you will be selling at a loss.

he can do another thing that he like and its better than only watching the market and in the end he is only getting stress. I thnk you don't have to gets worried, I am sure altcoin will be back normal soon and altcoin will increase more. but to go that way, we need to be patience for a while and don't panic when the price is down again.

All of you forget to tell him that amount of coins will not grow just from holding, worth in dollars or other currency may go up, but amount in bitcoins will stay the same.
Such coins are proof of stake coins, if you buy some of this pos coins you can earn more coins just from keeping them in wallet.
Now its the good moment for keeping bitcoins for sure, uncertainty is behind us and price will start to go up soon. Don't pay attention on any dumps in that moment you can buy more but already yours hold and it will pay you out before the new year.

Well, the only thing I could suggest you to do is continue to hold your coin whether it is bitcoin or altcoin. And even the value drop or crashed the price, Just stay calm and don't panic. Okay! because if the value decrease the price there is no other choice for the coin down but to go
up again in a couple of time, just be patience to wait and hold your coin tightly. Due to the more you hold is the bigger profit you will get in the near future.

yes different people have different idea about bitcoin investment, some people like short term investment and they want to make money in short term and not to wait for a long time. but some time consider short term investment as risky and therefore they do not like to invest money for short term but to invest it for long term as long term investment is more safe than short term investment.

You have no option but to hold, if you are in good altcoins, the prices will recover but we do not know how long that will be, the reason to hold is so you do not lose money it is as simple as that, you should have waited since it was obvious those prices could not be maintained.

Why not set stop loss point before create order? Remember patience the price of altcoin recovery in current very bad, because we don't know the time altcoin bounce again and change trend. So, have stop loss will helps you can buy again as in current or yesterday when dip price.

That is an option but the user I answered did not seem to do that and after you incur your losses then there is no point in selling since you will only confirm your losses, so at this point he only thing you can do with your investment if you have the hope of getting your money back is to hold.

to me i think if you can hold your bitcoin tell the end of this year then you can really get a very good profit, because people are expecting that the price of bitcoin will cross 5000$ at the end of this year, its mean that in next few months we can at least double our investment, therefore i think holding bitcoin for next few months will be more profitable.

I had and I am having that problem too.
I was getting in to buy a coin at 0.2 usd and
I got out that coin at 0.35 but,.... I bought ot back at 0.40 usd
and it is now 0.17 usd.

if price has falling away from your purchase price, my suggestion you should hold your coin.
if you believe the price can still go down, you can act to sell coins and buy it back at the bottom price (This can reduce losses).

it all depends on the situation you believe, If you invest because you are confident with the altcoin technology that you hold, it would not hurt to hold your altcoin until the price goes up

Think about it. If you don't hold, If I don't hold, If he doesn't hold... How can we ever go to the moon? Somebody has to hold. Are we going down? Maybe. Personally I can afford to go down till it reaches sub 1000$. Why? Because I purchased most of my coins from that price!!

Actually I can even tolerate to sub 200$'s. And I still won't dump. See? People like me got high pain tolerance. Because only %7 (not that small Dollar wise)  of my wealth is in bitcoin. If It were %100, I would be eating my room's walls with every passing minute.  

Actually the basic thing on bitcoin system is its ability to change it price so holding is a part of having bitcoin because in just simply holding we could actually earn. Just imagine the development, progress and growth that might happened to bitcoin price and value that making it more suitable for transaction. So it is a good thing to hold if you are going to trade to earn more and to have more profit.

i think in present time you need to hold your bitcoin. because there are good chances and more expectation from the people that bitcoin rice will increase too much therefore i think holding bitcoin in present time will be a very good decision, because in very little time we can get more profit from bitcoin that we cannot get from any other trading.

If you don't need money you might want to hold it for long term or might as well do some trade to increase the amount of your bitcoin. Just make sure you research the coins you will trade. Trade with caution. Bitcoin will be big for the coming years this is just the start for btc so HODL, sit back and relax.

So I guest the best thing to do is to sell immediately bitcoin right now their market value was $3300 so if you hold your bitcoin maybe you can lose it.
