I just received my antminer today and I am having a problem with a setup.

I used a cable for the power supply that says on it that it supports 75 degrees celsius, 250-440V and 16A. But when I plugged my machine, the power supply cable got really hot (enough to not be able to comfortably hold it in hand). I know that the specs on the cable are probably enough to support one antminer, but the cable seems way to hot

Does you cable also get too hot?

Which cable are you referring to, the one from the wall outlet to the PSU or the ones from the PSU to the miner?

You can definitely cause a fire by pulling too much juice through an underrated cable so you want to address this.

The cable should not be hot to the touch at all!  If it seems hot in the slightest you need to immediately unplug it or risk causing a fire.  You may be using a cable that is not correctly rated or perhaps it is just a cheap flimsy cable that was made poorly or is showing the wrong specs.  Spend the few extra bucks and get a quality cable that will not cause issues.

I am referring to the power cord between APW3++ and the wall socket. On one side of the cord it says 16A and on the other that it is rated at 75 degrees Celsius at 250-440V, so it should be more than enough for the cable

Hi, my two D3 arrived today too (the units are 01-15 Nov. batch and are labeled 19.3Ghs), but I have paid 591 Euro of VAT and TAX. I am waiting for the APW3++ power supplies that aren't shipped yet.

mine arrived today, and UPS forgot the import tax.  So that saved me a few $

now i just need the power supplies!

why the PSU not shipped with D3?? what nation you are? thanks

UPS sent a bill for $36.00, that was for 4 units. (L3+'s).  The power supplies should be here tomorrow, wondering if another bill will come in?

I think I'll sell off my D3's when they arrive.  The L3+'s are making about $17 per day each before electric and from what I hear they are quieter then the D3's.  Since I only have 1 20A 220V circuit, I can only run 4 miners.

16A should be but there is no way a 16A cable should be uncomfortably hot powering an APW3++ either.  Are you sure you aren't reading 16 AWG on the cable? I use 14 AWG cables for my 1600W PSU's and those are only rated for 15A.  And they are pretty dang thick as power cords go.  These guys have inexpensive power cables of about any length you could want: http://www.cableleader.com/

I might be interested. I only order 2 and have room for 10 more.

hey guys cheer up. you are only thinking about today for mining. Dash price will be closer to $2000 next year and also you can mine other coins.

It's all debatable, potentially these miners may turn around and start making some good money.

It depends on the X11 coins.
