Anyone notice we have 5 difficulty adjustments on the way after 6 more blocks? Difficulty will be close to what it was yesterday. Hash incoming in 3...2...1...!

Don't you find it funny how all the miners (unknown, BTC.com, Antpool, ViaBTC) have all abandoned mining this at the same time it was as if Jihan Wu has handed out orders for all his hashing power to cease until the emergency difficulty adjustment comes into force  Roll Eyes

Easy manipulating this to their benefit and none of you seem to take issues with that ?

I find it telling that this is what you offer instead of offering a position... is this the BTC sub-forum?

Have you considered that the miners perhaps could actually believe in the blockchain and can see as clearly as you have pointed out and knowing how the difficulty works are acting on their own accord, in unison, for the benefit of the chain?

Does it scare me that people who might share a vision are working towards that?  Is this your question?

So every miner in the entire world all came to the same decision at the same time

What's to say the user's won't get sick of this yo-yo effect and just start dumping making this worthless and the miners just give up for good you don't know what there thinking.

How would you feel going to the bank to get some money and they turned round and said sorry we are withholding all withdrawals because the interest rates are down that's essentially what there doing holding your money because they don't want to mine just yet

Actually ViaBTC implemented the option to automatically profit switch soon before the last boom period end. Every time you log into the pool part, it pops up a reminder that this option is available. I suspect most of the other pools have the same option. Also, it appears that our magic mystery miner has decided to cool off his asics. So far, 4 emergency difficulty adjustments are locked in. Looks like we may have another boom period for the miners to rape this coin silly in a day or two. So three days boom, three days bust. Is that the cycle? What a wonderful, stable, and secure retarget algorithm they cooked up here.  Roll Eyes

No I'm against 2x and satoshi said bitcoin was to be trustless and yet you are here trying to pump up something that is pretty much 100% trusted to a single entity yes there are a few pools but they are all under the control of Jihan and as soon as the difficulty adjusted the miners didn't even think twice about leaving.

You just hope they come back but one day they may not
There is no loyalty like core has you are just running code written by core and its core that have put many many hours into this and made it what it is today and that is the reason core is so trusted

is blockstream trustless?
https://www.segwetters.org/

satoshis clearly said...no 2nd layers...
miners bring value to bitcoin, people invest in equipment.
bitmain was not the main pool 4yr ago and wont be in next 4yrs, this is what is meant to happen, people compete for rewards that keep growing in value.
as time passes, people go from , indvidual miners to groups, to communites to cities...and the value of the coin will keep growing.

btw its core thats kept btc blocks full and making the network slow and expensive.

...so why is core changing, deviating so drastically instead of scaling?

If what is said is true, BCC adheres more to what drives core's following than core no?

Counter to your offering @tekmobile why the hash increase to BCC when it became profitable if what you say is true?

Appears more that most follow profitability while a few grind on what they believe in, let the best win, or let both moon.

I am sure that Segshitcoin will be around for a very loooong time Wink And they will ultimately resolve scalability issues. Eventually, the strong security is a very important pro, which Bitcoin cash will never reach.

Strong security!?

That's exactly why we have BCC!?

"The owners of Blockstream are the classic financial institutions, specifically AXA, that have everything to lose from cryptocurrency gaining ground.

And they have bought (“invested in”) a company, which has an opportunity to get patents into the bitcoin blockchain, thereby being able to either outright ban people from using it, or collect a heavy rent from anybody and everybody who uses it."

any company in the whole freaking world that turns over more than $250 can probably be labelled illuminati if you make enough dumb leaps of logic.

OTOH, the (former) Chair of the Bilderbergs is pretty rarefied company.

It comes down to this, if he ultimately isn't satoshi, can't prove anything, and ergo has no chance at having his patents approved,

Just no. CSW's ability to successfully register his patents is completely orthogonal to whether or not he is satoshi. No dependency whatsoever.

So every miner in the entire world all came to the same decision at the same time

Profitability flipped back to BTC, so miners switched back to mining the more profitable chain. What's so hard to understand?

After profitability switches back to Bitcoin Cash, I expect miners to return.

It's all quite simple and logical.

No. Difficulty and price will both stairstep to stability.

Just no. In a logical, just world, it is necessary. Yes, it is possible that strings could be pulled by government agencies to allow him to have the patents without proof of being Satoshi, but you know damn well in such a scenario there will be legal action against Craig and people will cry bloody murder.
