Reward: 12 079.66474 QRK (matures in 68 more blocks)
Staked: 100 000.00000 QRK
Transaction ID:

Staked coins must mature 101 blocks before they can be spent. When you generated this block, it was broadcast to the network to be added to the block chain. If it fails to get into the chain, its state will change to "not accepted" and it won't be spendable. This may occasionally happen if another node generates a block within a few seconds of yours.

Why has it only staked 100k? Is there a default limit on this?

My wallet is not rewarded, need to change somewhere?

Not sure if the wallet needs to be unlocked, most proof of stake allow unlocking for minting only.
There does not appear to be the option in this case so I used (walletpassphrase "passphrase" timeout) in the console.
Eg. walletpassphrase mypasswordiseasytocrack 2000000

Six stakes received so far.

Anybody able to comment on why the process is using 1,727,687K of memory?
Seems like an awful lot.

100k stake is 12000 reward?

is this a typo or is qrk going hyper inflation?

POS parameters:
- 3.5% pa POS interest
- 30 days minimum stake age
- Activates block 4937000 (est 25 Nov 2017)

I'm guessing stake age is based on the last time the balance was moved or the last time a reward was received.
This balance staked was stationary since 2014, around 3.5 years @ 3.5% is twelve and a quarter percent.
Seems about right.

I'm almost certain now that:
1). setgenerate must be true
2). wallet must be unlocked.

Can you please explain how I stake my coins?  I have 10.6.1 running and mining set to 2 threads.  Is there anything else I have to do?

thanks in advance,

A

The memory usage is a real problem... I'm running 10.6.2 Linux version and it is using 2.1 GB of memory. That is just a ridiculous amount of memory to use for a wallet!

Quark 0.10.6.3

- Enables staking by default

Downloads:

https://github.com/quark-project/quark/releases/tag/v0.10.6.3

To stake your coins your wallet will need to be synced and unlocked. Coins need to be at least 30 days old to stake. Note it can take a while to stake (days in some cases). The older the coins and the larger the amount the more likely it is to stake.

I'd be interested to hear about the masternode idea. I have skimmed through the thread, it seems like it hasn't started yet, but 250k quarks would be needed.

What would be the rewards for being a masternode?  How exactly will it work?

I'm not sure that Quark will ever recover from its reputation, but changing to PoS and getting new devs in seems like a good start.

Success!
Staking perfectly.
I have a balance from 2014 that I got year over year reward. Excellent.

To Stake:
1. install the latest update. 0.10.6.3     https://github.com/quark-project/quark/releases/tag/v0.10.6.3
2. select help - debug window
3. select console tab
4. enter into console text field:     setgenerate true
5. enter into console text field:     walletpassphrase mywalletpassphrase 100000
                                                            ^                          ^                      ^
(command)        (your passphrase)     (number of seconds for unlock)

6. press ctrl L to clear your console.
7. close debug window and watch your coins get minted if they are 30 days old or greater.

Happy staking!!!!

Item 5. is the unlocking procedure to stake and mint your coins. This is only required if your wallet is encrypted.

Video tutorial I just found to help.    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIe2tqaLxfQ

Hi everyone! As people are discussing, Quark's hybrid POW/POS code is now live. I've held off posting as we initially did some due diligence to ensure the code was working properly, and everything has checked out. I'm currently staking and have received rewards. Note that the code is rewarding retroactively - this wasn't initially intended, however it can be seen as a bonus for all of Quark's long term supporters!

As an update as well - the masternodes are currently still being debugged, but progress is being made. Implementation of the masternodes, with full governance and likely a 1% per annum masternode rewards and a small development fund to spend via the budget mechanism is what's currently planned in the next release.

Hello, do you guys have any bootstrap for new wallet? My PC is lagging then becoming unresponsive after many hours block loading.

Are you having trouble reindexing the blockchain from the previous version of quark.
Reindexing the chain took me over 6 hours on my little pc and my computer was inoperable while in process.

If however you are just trying to download a new chain on a fresh install let us know, so we can assist.
cheers

Thanks Pondi. Now my wallet is fully synced. Is it necessary to type setgenerate true or wallet will mint itself automatically?
