What if btc-e admins dump database with every email address and balance after fbi seized their funds and 51% of btc, ltc, etc. miners decide to empty fbi addresses containing stolen fund and refund the innocents?

In the end all cryptos are open source, everyone is free to modify and run the version they want so it will not be anything illegal.

This will send a strong message to US that if they play dirty the community can play dirty too.

they wouldn't do it if 20 million coins were seized, let alone a few thousand.

ethereum wouldn't any more either. this is in no way an existential threat. it's a tragedy for the people who lose out if they are seized. that's it.

This is because pools and master nodes are cancer.

There should be a coin where pools and master nodes won't work, where every one that will run a full node to be able to vote and his 1 coin vote should have same value as another user that have 1000 coins, a coin that should have a user friendly builtin vote system.

If there was such a coin gox would not have happened nor btc-e.

If there was such a coin hackers or authorities abuse won't exist.

Since ETH balance automatically transferred to new wallet, it could mean that those 5-10 days could be some kind of 'dead man switch' that will be activated.

How do you know that ETH balance was "automatically" transferred to a new wallet?

If you check
https://etherscan.io/address/0x8eb3fa7907ad2ef4c7e3ba4b1d2f2aac6f4b5ae6
first 3 transactions are completed on exact full hour difference, 4th 10mins after and 5th could be some troll. So first 3 transactions looks like automatic dead man switch probably executed or confirmed by 0.0001 sent back to original ETH balance wallet from https://etherscan.io/address/0xf886abf45d68611078b5f66d450f76beb1dd8234

Also there is a quote of Balthazar who is familiar with BTC-e (don't have the original post link):
"Well, ETH stash is still incomparable to BTC wallets. Anyway, FBI would notify everybody in the world in case of successful seizure of funds. So I think that it's just a new wallet created by automatical task which is still function properly. It looks like at least some part of exchange's infrastructure is still up."

We shall see if US gov says anything about money in the next couple of days. Balthazar was too quick to say that FBI would notify everybody. They might do that but not the same minute they have moved ETH balance. But anyhow it looks to me like it was some automatic script doing that ETH balance transfer.

Sounds like epic BS to me.

In which country were these "FBI" supposed to be doing this seizure?

ya right.  USA government has everything right now.  their "inictment" was from January 2017.  that . means they already got all the necessary legal shit to hack btc-e and prepare for this takedown.  they already had everything in place since the last 6 months

There certainly seems to be a case in this thread of underestimating law enforcement. These guys will have done a lot of groundwork and collected a lot of evidence for this case. This isn't just two cops in a panda car cuffing a guy.

That's true. One of the things that has been bothering me all this time, however, is the lack of announcement regarding seizure of funds. When things go right, the FBI (etc) issues a takedown and seizure of funds is the headliner in the press release. Not the case here. Maybe the US government is in control and is simply not giving away all the information (maybe hoping to goad admins into giving away server locations or their whereabouts). But I suspect that something went wrong, and the feds acted on this prematurely.

As long as not Terorisim connected, then we will get our digital asset back soon.

Most of us were just small miners, using our poor salary to buy an expensive miner
and afford huge electricity bill to push blockchain work , and then earn small tips.

There are, like, 7 USA government agencies investigating BTC-e for really serious crimes.  I mean yikes!  nobody is ever going to see BTC-e again.

No one has any idea what they will do with the seized funds.  The FBI doesn't just immediately move funds.  For the same reason that they didn't redirect BTC-e.com immediately.  They let it sit for a day or two.  And then they changed the nameservers.

1) Alex dont have access to keys. Owners could of paid, they did not. Case closed.

2) Alex have access to keys and he is the only one with the keys (else coins would be moved) - FED is likely to get keys from him and payout a few while auctioning rest.

3) Traders made money of more stupid people via FUD and fear of been left behind, aka pump and dump. Similar to FED handling of economy.

4) Even if all humans put all cash they had into come crypto coins - it would simply reshuffle existing crumbs mostly.

5) By understanding fears and manias such as greed, envy, cowardice, jealousy, etc aka knowing self and influence we humans can  enjoy our life on Earth.

6) If its not done fight for a crumbs continues, while very few withhold most resources including technological ones from most. Increasing pollution and rise  of fuck life attitude leads to end of human on Earth (not an overall end, yet a evolutionary setback)

Sepculations, all of it. This too: They offered Vinnik Guantanamo 1000 million years or 10 year lowsec prison.  Within a second he signed and gave them everything.

BTC-e is a crime scene.  If USA FBI has control of the private keys (I'm certain that they do) then we're all FUCKED.  Except maybe some americans that can get their coins back through legal in USA

Do you know what's interesting about ETH transfer. It seems that someone how know very little about cryptos made the transfer.
How ever it was he forget to move milloins of tokens still existing in orginal ETH address. If tokens are transferred after this message it also tells us that they are monitoring this thread.

This is very bad sign. It tells us that transfer was not made by admins.

Ok, did a little research.

Btc-e.com domain definitely is seized by the authorities (it's not still in control of the original owners anymore) - but this is very common and I am sure the original owners were expecting this to happen anytime. Seizing a .com domain just takes one court order to the ICANN (the domain overviewing organization) and the domain is in control of the authority requesting access. This is why, most notorious websites like to use cctlds (like .ru, .cn and so on).

Many people think that the BTC-e owners are doing an exit scam by putting up a seized notice on the website themselves and withdrawing all the coins to other wallets. But that is not the case, as we shall see below.

Now, the ETH moving to another wallet is interesting. I am sure the ETH wallet is NOT yet seized by the authorities - because if it was, they wouldn't have sent all the ETH to a wallet (https://etherscan.io/address/0x8eb3fa7907ad2ef4c7e3ba4b1d2f2aac6f4b5ae6) that receives 0.001 to 0.0001 ETH every few minutes (it is probably a small miner that is paying to this address). If we remember the Silk Road case, the FBI transferred all BTC to a brand-new wallet with no transactions happening.

So, the ETH have been moved a wallet that is still in control of the team and not the LE authorities.

Future prediction - Probably the site will come back online on a different domain other than btc-e.com. It could take longer than expected. And hopefully, all the customers will access to their funds like before.

I think we all appreciate your research but really, you're fucking delusional.  BTC-e is GONE.  It is entirely kaput.  They are on the run from USA FBI!  There is no possible way that BTC-e ever comes online again.

If they were able to, of course they would move any crypto funds they could immediately. Otherwise, the site admins could move them with the same private keys.

It's true, the seizures are usually the most important part for federal agencies. They can easily freeze bank accounts in US-friendly countries and they generally execute such warrants at the same time that they make raids/arrests. They always act all at once for maximum impact. And the reason we didn't see the takedown page for a couple days is because of DNS propagation.
