The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

I see so many people trashing the coin and the dev's, and in the same sentence ask for free coins...Kind of funny to see.  You hate it, but you want people to give you coins?  Makes no sense.
Hate? No.

Yeah! Quickly! (btw, your ftc pool was great when it first released. This might blast off in price too (I can always hope))

Can you even do that??  The orphan rate is incredibly high...

I will NEVER ask for any kind of funds up front in a buy/sale of anything on bitcointalk.

It's hard to get excited with 0 block after an hour... almost 1k orphans... and the wallet slipping out of sequence every few seconds.
Sigh.... and I was so hopeful about this coin...

That's you, not the coin

err and 90% of the people on this thread by the looks of it.

i see a handfull of people  trying to praise the coin, with the very vast majority wondering wtf this was released with 0 diff again after everyone is calling for higher release diff??
let's hope it crash and burn like all the new 50 per day alts so they stop making the original alts look bad.

Let's ask the dev

why release with such stupid low diff even though everyone has been asking for releases with much higher diff to stop all the reject, orphans etc we are seeing now and giving huge unfair advantage to low latency high hash set ups at the start. What is the answer??

Basically this, although on the bright side the difficulty should be within reasonable bounds soon enough

Orphans are normal with these 0 difficulty coins just wait it out and you'll start getting blocks quickly.  Very hard to get any right at the start.

Also, obviously, let your client get caught up to the block chain before you start solo mining if not 100% guaranteed orphans/rejects

I have a feeling this one's going to get DDoS'ed in the ground too. No pain, no gain though...

But yes, dare

Anyone ever figure out what the communications port is?

Charlie Kelly: I'm pleading the 5th.  The Attorney: I would advise you do that.  Charlie Kelly: I'll take that advice under cooperation, alright? Now, let's say you and I go toe-to-toe on bird law and see who comes out the victor?  The Attorney: You know, I don't think I'm going to do anything close to that and I can clearly see you know nothing about the law.

Something strange going on here.

At the start I got like 4 blocks but I had to do a restart and when the wallet loaded back up the same number of transactions are there but the coins are gone.

Ok, I don't think much of it.

I chug along and gathered about 500 coins and tons of orphans like everyone else. I decide to test it again and sure enough after the restart the coins have disappeared from my wallet.

WTF?

It's like a trojan in the client stealing the coins.

It happened to me with CNC on launch; Got like 5 blocks, I closed it by mistake. When I opened the blocks were gone. I think you need to have it open and wait for the block or the orphan before close.

The worst enemy of Bitcoin is Mt.Gox exchange.

I'm using stratum locally and it's not looking good with my single miner, no point to pool yet. Blocks are too fast.

RIP my old pools... sometimes BTC isn't life ;(

I would imagine the people trying to praise this coin are the same that were dick riding feathercoin a few weeks back.

I'm praising all of the hard work the dev's put into this, and how smooth the launch was.  So many complaints, but I have yet to see anyone do a better job.  Clear downloads, good websites, Twitter updates, clear instructions, settings, nodes, etc.... I have all orphans so far, but you have to admit the setup is really professional.  Just about everything was accounted for, I even noticed the dev has been good about updating www.worldcoin.in with good nodes as they come in.

Oh and the name is great, I had been thinking of a coin along these lines for a few weeks now... was going to call mine "World Credits" though.  Credits just seem like a better name to set it apart from the rest of the "coins".  SWTOR FTW.
