I'm having the same discussion with people on other forum. They think that Litecoin is insecure because it's faster.

Man, you can drive your car at 10Km/h if you want, and I'm sure you are not going to crash. I prefer to go faster.
Is in each person to decide how much confirmation they need, it's like if somebody gives you a 100 dollars bill, you check to know if it's fake or real; some insecure people may call a bill expert to check for it, some people trust on the other person and take it without even looking at it. Security is in the individual.

The worst enemy of Bitcoin is Mt.Gox exchange.

Once a transaction is fully confirmed with 4 confirmations, can you go back and change it?

If the answer is no, than that's secure enough. Bitcoin is over secure and useless for real world transactions, it's over encryption is not needed. We people do not understand you.

yes it can be reversed, have you heard of the 51% attack...? additionally, you didn't answer the question. why would anyone use worldcoin, if it provides no advantages over bitcoin and bitcoin already is much more established and accepted by merchants?

Are you ok mentally, I just gave you the advantage of instant transaction speeds. If you don't think that's an advantage over bitcoin you have problems, I'm just going to ignore you now because you either can't comprehend the language you are writing in, mentally handicapped, or just trolling.

Cool down, friend. I am just trying to have a simple conversation so we can both increase our understanding.

So Worldcoin confirms in 15 seconds, but we agree that doesn't really provide much security. Bitcoin takes 10 minutes, which is too long for many situations. So with bitcoin, you simply use 0 confirmation transactions, with the option to listen to the network for 10 seconds or so to see if a double-spend transaction was broadcasted. This allows for fast transactions!

There isn't any practical difference to the two situations. This is what I mean when I say worldcoin does not provide any new advantages.
Once again more BS, the WDC 15sec confirmation is important, the data is on a freshly mined block and on it's way.  I have sat for half an hour on BTC stalking the block explores sites waiting for my first confirmation on a transfer to Gox or other exchange, then wait for another 5 blocks before I can start trading. All this is done in a couple of minutes on WDC. Just because BTC is supposed to find a block every 10min. doesn't mean it actually does, I have seen it take way longer. Even if WDC block discovery was +/- several hundred percent, it will still blow BTC confirmations into the weeds.

Kind of like the autobahn. No speed limit, some people choose to go slower, some faster.

Your signature really screwed with my mind.

Anyway, please change the "Iv'e" to "I've". Such an intelligent text deserves to be written in proper form.  Wink
