If bitcoin survives in a hundred years, it will be another bitcoin with other possibilities and from this bitcoin there will be practically only one name. One can only imagine how far the technology will develop in a hundred years. What will be even difficult to foresee.

From today's bitcoin situation is getting better especially after 100 years now it will be a high development and ranking to bitcoin and space for other crypto currency can be used all over the world. Thus, the bitcoin situation for the next 100 years will make the price close to the predictions given by people about bitcoin. Cool
that's correct, since bitcoin is a currency it probably survive even after 100 years from now. bitcoin is also used to buy things as long as it was accepted as payment method. and as long as people used bitcoin in their daily life it is going to survive for sure.
Definitely bitcoin will survive after 100 year because I think after 100 years there will be only bitcoin survive in the market and no any fiat will be exist that time. After 100 years all the society would be dependent on technology and that time of technology would be supreme in respect of specifications and something else.

No one can predict exactly about bitcoin future but it cannot be neglected that there would be only technology based surviving in the world.

I am asking this just to see the different opinions of Bitcoin community about its long term potential

I know Bitcoin is actually strong enough and stable as well

But what do you think about it after 100 years ?

In my opinion, even if bitcoin is very popular and very indemand in the market,  I don't think about surviving it at 100 years. 100 years is a very long process and technology brings a lot more changes so maybe another sets of coin may replace it in the future...

We might not live until Bitcoin has reached 100 years but it can survive and cannot also . What if something else comes up after Bitcoin that it is more profitable and useful than this . Can't say what will happen after 100 of years

We should always believe in ourselves and in bitcoin that it will survive more than one hundred years. Yes maybe it will disappear but im I think it will just transform into a better currency where it will helps other people to survive and help them to get out towards the poverty. Many people will get a new ideas and knowledge that gives them courage to do more things in order to survive in the society that they live in.

I think someone has said that Bitcoin Blockchain will run out after 140 years. That's because every block is always picked up by half every day.

But if Bitcoin is going to be there after 100 years, I do not think anyone knows about it. As you say, people will always develop technology in such a way as to help our lives to be even better. And if someday Bitcoin ends, I think someone will replace it and get better. Cryptocurrency is not just Bitcoin alone.

After 100 years all coins will be mined and people start using it easily for transactions and travel freely without having to exchange their currency.

I'm not sure, that's quite long to be honest. I do believe that Bitcoin will be more successful in the next years to come but Bitcoin's existence for that length of time is still questionable since it is not yet legal to most of the countries which means that it is not used by everyone as a currency which is a factor to consider on Bitcoin's lifespan.

Given the current development of Bitcoin and the secure security of the crypto currency, I think in the next 100 years there will be other coins that may exceed our expectations now  Grin

Bitcoin is built on the internet and therefore, unless the internet is destroyed, there is no way to stop bitcoin or make bitcoin dies.  BItcoin will still be there in the next 100 years but we can not know whether bitcoin will still have a big value or not. Time will tell us about it. right now, the hard fork is much more important than this issue and I think you should find out which wallet will give you a chance to receive bitcoin gold and bitcoin2x

Maybe Yes, it depends on the demand of people in the society, if one of the altcoins replace bitcoin then it will be worth it. But for me, it will survive after 100 years bitcoin will be the center of attraction.

I can not imagine whether bitcoin can survive in 100 years or not, because maybe in the future, there are many altcoins can replace bitcoin, but not thing is impossible.

If bitcoin want to survive after 100 years, it has tobe accepted by all people as a social demand and common to every people, or it will die in just 50 years

Well fees will increase in price by then and if they don't then I don't think miners will have the incentive to mine. Which would mean the end of bitcoin due to no transaction confirming.

And of course no one wants to pay high fees it will be interesting to see how that issue is dealt with.
