Bitcoin is a software, it will last forever, even it means that it only lives on a CD or a hard drive.

The question is: Is the value of bitcoin going to survive after 100 years? After 100 years, will it still be valuable?

Bitcoin is not a software like a CD or Hard disk. Nobody know that the value of bitcoin is going survie like now after 100 years.
it depends of supply and demand on the market.

Bitcoin can not be destroyed and yes, bitcoin will survive after 100 years no matter how the world can be. However, I can not sure whether bitcoin still be valuable like it is right now. In the future, there will be more coins which are better and greater than bitcoin and because of that reasons, bitcoin will be replaced and people will not choose bitcoin as the priority option anymore.

For me, bitcoin will not survive after one hundred years. But some other cryptocurrency will become much affordable and much famous to many people. Hundred years it’s a very extended period, and there will be a lot of chance will happen. Also, I think that bitcoin will reach its limitation at 21 million. But if there are still bitcoin in after 100 years, it will be costly or cheap.  Smiley

In my opinion, Bitcoin can exist with us for 100 years but surely its value will change. Because in the past 100 years we have gone through two technological revolutions and started the technology age of 4.0 with Bitcoin in the lead. It will be the foundation for the world to grow. But you know that the world is always changing so bitcoin also changes to survive and grow. I believe the Bitcoin owner is trying to create that

I am asking this just to see the different opinions of Bitcoin community about its long term potential

I know Bitcoin is actually strong enough and stable as well

But what do you think about it after 100 years ?
There is no doubt that according to the most modest forecasts, the Crypto-currencies will be able to take 1% of the M1 money supply, which is $ 250 billion. Or, if we divide by the total number of all bitcoins (at the end of the issue in 2033 there will be no more than 21 million of them) then the cost of 1 BTC will be (= 250 000/21) almost 12 thousand dollars. And this we considered the most modest option (did not take into account the money supply M2 - time deposits, ie multiply our total by 2 and did not take into account that the share may be and 2% -5% if large payments begin and / or we really see the opportunity to just pay them in everyday life).
In total, from the need for a money supply, the value of bitcoin for 1-5% may range from $ 12,000 to $ 120,000 (assuming 5% of the M2 money supply equals $ 50 trillion).

I did not know that after a hundred years I was still alive to think of bitcoin. But at the moment, I think the bitcoin market will thrive, and I hope the future will all be paid by electronic money, which is very convenient, because of this point, I think in the future bitcoin will replace the current currency that we are using to trade.

Regardless of what bitcoin's fiat worth is there will always be enough to go around as 1 bitcoin is divisible many, many decimals/values. For this reason I say yes bitcoin will be around in 100 years. The only question is if it is still profitable for miners but I presume it will be, maybe somebody could clarify this.
It is quite a very long period of time, you are asking too much to predict. There could be a lot of changes and improvements with in a century from now. If you look back from the 1900's up to now, almost everything had change, lifestyle, economy, technology, and etc. It could also happen 100 years from now, changes is constant in this world. What matters is how we adopt in this changes, and how we accept the uncertainty of life.

We've all seen bitcoin on its worst and it was able to survive after all the controversies that was thrown to it. Bitcoin is still innovating and all of these innovations being made will surely increase the capability of bitcoin to survive and recover from all of the obstacles it is about to face so we should keep our trust and faith on bitcoin. It will surely bless us more if we keep on working for it

It won't last that much. Monetary dialectics is going to change drastically. Something else will appear and exist. Bitcoin is not going to benefitial except the impact it has done. Now we witness opening of a new era. Money and transactions are digitalized. Banks put lots of investment in order to keep up with bitcoin-like tech. Maybe banking system can overrule in the future since their monopoly is controlled by the governmental bodies. In my opinion bitcoin itself does not have any future however it will lead to superior systems which will suprass the bubble of bitcoin. Yet there wont be a bubble, nothing I guess, can be so profitable as much as the former bitcoin behaviour.

I think bitcoin will only exist for 25 years. I thought of that because there are still plenty of possibilities to upgrade or replace it by a better one with more layers of security features.

100 year is long enough and I guess all of us members of today's bitcoin is no longer existing that time already. But who knows about the future? If the market will be stable enough for bitcoin, I think it will survive that long. The world is always changing, so maybe bitcoin will be upgraded already that time and no longer bitcoin name alone but much broader in its scope. There are a lot of things to be happened on that time and only the followers of this through time can know what happen to will be bitcoin become after 100 years.

if you look at the state of bitcoin today I'm not sure bitcoin coin will last up to 100 years because currently the price of bitcoin tends to decrease, but I still keep a bit bitcoin although I still doubt my current action. hopefully bitcoin can go back like years ago.

I think bitcoin will last for 100 years but not famously at all. I think it would replace other currencies because of higher technology. But who knows about the future? Maybe the value of bitcoin will higher up to 100% or much higher value.

Coin technology is progressing, growing day by day. I think bitcoin will be difficult to survive for 100 years. The future is uncertain about it. In the crypto market, there are always other coin forms that compete for technology or stability. Just as there are other coin vanishes. It is difficult to discuss the existence of bitcoin and altcoin in the crypto market.

yes! i think the development of bitcoin prices are getting stronger I think bitcoin will last up to 100 years. More and more people are interested in the activities in bitcoin, of course bitcoin will strengthen up to 100 years ahead,Nowadays, people are increasingly interested to know about Bitcoin. They are aware of its use. When it comes to problems with the use of currency, its use will increase. It's usage will increase further in the next 100 years. So, I think the future of Bitcoin is bright .But who knows about the future? Maybe the value of bitcoin will higher up to 100% or much higher value. so best of luck for itBTCBTCBTC

of course it is, think about other currency it survive more than hundreds of year, because it is useful, it is used for our daily life. so if it was still using after 100 years probably it is still alive and survive. i cant imagine how much the value of it, but sad to think i dont know if im still alive when it reaches 100 years. lol

First of all, it’s a pretty bad idea that we all live for eternity. Overpopulation is already a major problem of the world causing severe survival problems. But you are true for once that we all will surely die before digital gold dies.It is really hard to say if it will survive or not because most of us will be gone by that time no one would be living to answer that here.
