Anyone know what's going on with parallelminer? I placed and order with them on the 12th for a PSU, various cables and power boards, then on the 16th I got an email saying the PSU was out of stock and they cancelled the entire order. I sent several emails back, called and left messages, and here we are on the 18th and no response at all. Tried to leave following vm's today, but now their vm's are full... wtf?
That's not cool Have you been in touch with Joseph? He's usually responsive. If they keep playing the same game they'll be come back in stock in a while with a price hike

I'm sure it's mentioned somewhere in the thread but could not find the answer, can you tell me what are the power connector requirements for the B250 board?
From the pictures I see 3 SATA and 3 4-pin connectors, are those all that is needed to power 8 on board PCIE ports? (Also the 4 pin CPU and 24-pin MB connectors)
yes. this is for the onda b250 d8p ver 1.0 (the one phil has in his videos). Got it thanks. What do people use as PSU for this setup? Something that can handle 7x1080 ti. Any server PSU setups from reliable Chinese suppliers? corsair ax1500i and Evga 1600T2/P2 has sufficient power and cables for 7x1080ti at 80% tdp.

What do the pro's in this thread think about the future of GPU mining? I was planning to buy a bunch of S9's/Avalon 8 in the next batch, but watching the BTC diff increase like crazy and altcoins price just going up, I'm back to considering GPU rigs instead! I would be building 13 GPU rigs, which cards would be best for the future? Sapphire Nitro+ RX 570 4gb, Sapphire Nitro+ RX Vega 56? Or are some of the nvidia cards still good for mining? I've only been mining with AMD cards so far! What are the chances of ETH actually removing PoW in Q4 2018? I will probably buy around 104 GPUs if I go down this road. Cheers <3

I got 2 miner crashes that needed to be manually restarted.
Also I call bullshit on the algo switching, I made less with the multi algo switching that mining straight lyrarev2.
I did a full 24 hour test run and calculated the BTC per Mh/s -
Sniffdog was only .005 mBTC/Mh/s which came out to .0021 BTC for 400 MH/s - now according to the profit switcher, ever single coin was always over $45-70/day so MINIMUM earned should have been 0.0031 BTC which it failed miserably.
Cool program and all, but profit switching 100% did not work to increase profits, it actually decreased them by 30%
Interesting findings. Currently using Nemos on 2 rigs and I'm not seeing the expected profits either. I’m seeing like 40c off prediction per card per day for the past 5 days using sniff Thanks moondoggie - how many cards are you using - I only dedicated 6 1080 Ti's to it - Also my switch timing was 5min. Earnings were just super low. I put a 7 1080ti setup onto it, was only pointed at Nist5 and Neoscrypt with a 15 min timer. So the conclusion is to use a dedicated miner instead and do the exchange by yourself? If you would, please do share which miner and pool u are using. Thanks

With the recent rise in eth I have a surplus of coins waiting to be converted to rigs. Maybe I'll stop expansion 2 months before volta. However I am not the biggest fan of dagger hashimoto (eth) mining because of potential POS switch and big farms are mining it. Unlikely eth will become more profitable than shitcoins and small cap coins that nvidia does well at. I just buy hold eth instead. I have enough 1080ti to hash small caps, now getting some equihash optimized cards (1070ti). For 13 gpu rig, 570 4gb and 1060 3gb has the fastest payback period. I'm not sure if it's possible to run 13x vega yet.

Tbh I'd rather buy expensive cards because I have limited access to electricity, so I need to make the biggest amount of hashing power per W. I like the fact that Sapphire Nitro+ RX Vega series has fan controllers on them, plus I like the quality of Sapphire Nitro series! RX 570 is still the way to go then I guess? Could you recommend a motherboard? I've been using Asus z270-P and asus b250 mining at the moment, the z270 mb's are having issues tho, cant detect 6 GPUs anymore, but the GPUs will work in new motherboards. They are probably damaged after power surges tho Asus z270-A is out of stock everywhere I look as well. What are the 1070 Ti's hashing at? Would you go for 1080Ti or 1070Ti for most hashes per W? Edit: I just realized I have no clue what brand of Nvidia cards are good for mining. Could you recommend some? ^^ Which brand got the best fans? Lifespan of these cards is crucial

I made a big call today - sold 90% of coins and bought more GPU's. Right now I'm 'even' cash wise with $20k in equip.

1070ti / 1080 are the best for efficiency in Equihash AFAIK. All my orders today were 1080 at $521 USD

Have you tried deepinthemines? https://www.deepinthemines.com/ We have had much better service from them, even during the craziest of times this year. Getting an answer from parallel miner is like pulling hens teeth, while deepinthemines has repleid within 5-10 minutes at 2am before (2am local time for them and us both). Thanks, I'll check them out. You can’t just place the order again? I guess I can. I was just hoping to get an answer as to why they cancelled my entire order, and I did see where they still had the PSU I ordered available for order, so for all I know, re-ordering would just result in the whole thing getting cancelled again after 6 additional business days. That's not cool Sad Have you been in touch with Joseph? He's usually responsive. If they keep playing the same game they'll be come back in stock in a while with a price hike Angry Albert Su is who emailed me about cancelling the entire order. Sent him 3 follow up email over a 5 day period and left him 2 voice mail messages. I also emailed Missa Biesel and left her voice mails during that same period. No response at all. I ordered 36 PCIe 6pin to 6pin cables (the white and black ones), 2x X7 breakout boards and 1x HP 94% 1200W PSU (their Baikal Giant Miner kit) although I'll be using that PSU to power a Colorful mobo instead of the Delta 2400W I'm currently using. I was hoping to have all this stuff here before Christmas, but now it looks like it will be after the 1st of the year.

Lifespan of these cards is crucial 1070 ti is a little better on hash/watt than 1080 ti, even at the "total system" level, but it's pretty close. I prefer the 1070 ti both for the efficiency AND for the fact it fits into my current infrastructure better on my existing "left over from FAH days" convertion-to-riser-rigs project. EVGA SC is my current prefered "go-to" model on both, though the ASUS blower model 1080 ti has acceptable cooling IF you run it for effficiency at under 180ish watts AND 8+6 power AND is usually the lowest-price option available. I TRIED to order one of the ASUS blower-model 1070 ti cards yesterday to test it, only to have Bitpay mess up on my payment to Newegg so now that money is in "limbo".

Some people enjoy BIOS modding and optimizing power with AMD and some people just don't want to be bothered or don't have the time.

I have a home-grown set-up with density requirements. $20k worth of 570's would simply not fit in the space I have allocated. My first 7 cards were all 1080ti.

Another question. I got a 2400W server psu along with a 750W psu for a 12GPU rig. When my rig dies for some reason, does not happen too often, but when it does, the server PSU keeps the GPU's running. Im looking for a way to get around this problem, any ideas?
How do you have the power to graphics cards wired? One of my rigs would do that if I had mistakenly wired riser power coming from one PSU and GPU PCI-E power coming from another one, to the same card. I only had one card powered by two separate power supplies, which I summarily corrected. Not sure if this is your case, but might be worth a shot looking at.

I just realized I have no clue what brand of Nvidia cards are good for mining. Could you recommend some? ^^ Which brand got the best fans? Lifespan of these cards is crucial Avoid Gigabyte cards with sleeve bearing fans. I've had to RMA 5 of the cards below in 5 months of mining because the fan either stopped completely or started going haywire e.g. stopping and starting, erratically changing speed etc. They are in a low dust, ~20 degrees C ambient environment and mostly ran <60% fan speed. There are some tuts around on how to replace the bearings but there's no point on cards still under warranty. I think I'll sell mine on and migrate to a model with more durable fans so keen to hear recommendations too!
