What do you guys think about these cards for mining:
Palit GeForce GTX 1080Ti Super Jetstream Palit GeForce GTX 1080Ti Jetstream
The Jetstream is 81$ cheaper than the Super Jetstream.
Super just means factory overclocked slightly higher, for $81 its not worth it. Same cooler. Beware that Palit returns take a long time, and only 2 year warranty. Hmm, Im not sure if I will get a warranty at all, I'm mining as a registered company. As a consumer tho I would have gotten 5 years warranty. All consumer electronics in Norway has a 5 year warranty by law! I'm looking for 1080Ti cards for mining, which has dual bearing fans! Only cards in stock are the Palit and Asus Strix cards! Asus doesnt have dual bearing, do they?

how much a month for that space
2k/mo - I'm paying roughly 2k/mo for residential electric so saving 1k in electric off the bat, 1k overheard for the space essentially just makes sense. What's your electricity cost per kwh and size of the unit? 0.10/kw 1500ft 2 not the greatest in the US but for LA it's the best I can do. Residential I'm on SoCal Edison which is tiered and tier 3 is 0.32/kw - outrageous. Just got a text from a friend to rent out 1/2 the space for storage so I'm down to 750ft, so the space is now paying for itself from the electric savings Told him it'll be month to month so depending on expansion his stuff will have to go as I need room thats a very good price and youre right paying residential electric rates for mining is rough, my garage is on buisness rating and has the more miners than i have in my basement yet im paying double for my house electricity it makes no sense

Just woke and checked on coinbase I had bcc/bch and it is a nice chunk of change!
I thought it was coming in January not Dec.
I will be 61 next month. The avalon will be coming out around my birthday.
Looks like it will be 11th and 1200 watts and it will not be cheap.
I almost have the spotswood done.
It has 4 1070ti's It has 2 1080ti's
I will add 1 1080ti to it.
and maybe a little card like a 1050 ti

I've done a little looking here in Ohio but I have not found much.

Huy guys ! 3 quick questions for all you master of GPU mining. 1- I got some GTX 1070 on the way, i will be mining Zcash and other coin. What's the avg best Mod for those kind of cards ? 2- I have a rig on Win 10 using the august blockchain driver, works fine with the 4xx series but for the 5xx serie the voltage mod doesn't work and i'm pumping way too much watt for nothing. I red about installing Afterburner version whatever Beta 16 to manually set the voltage but I would prefer to use another driver that will take the Claymore command. Any of you use another driver for your RX580 ? 3- I will be using Simple mining for my next farm. Does Simple mining have the issue that I have with win 10 ? (Guess not but who knows ) Thanks guys Herb

Settings he sent you are for SMOS or Hive OS You are lowering the power - see "Watts. 105" which is limiting your GPU to pulling 105 watts - which is the equiv of TDP Limit one windows w/Afterburner

Mem. 550 Watts 105 Are starting points for 1070 And set min fans to 50 With temps at 70

Those 3000 rpm fans Phil recommended finally came in. I swapped out the ~1,600 rpm Thermaltake fans and it made all the difference. Temps are now between 55 and 65 with the GPU fans staying at 50%. Here are a couple of shots of the fully loaded Coloful rig: And stats: Also got all but 1 card in for the Onda rig. I'm staggering Zotac 1070Ti Minis with 1070TI AMP!. And stats: This rig is running Delta fans with about the same specs at the fans Phil recommended (but more expensive). Hope to have the 4th AMP! by Friday, but Christmas mail mayhem might delay it.

Looking forward to their revival... they owe me big time. Meanwhile, my SHA256 rigs are now 25% BTC and 75% BCH. Posting this abroad, cant wait to work on the Vega rigs when I am back home in a weeks time. Merry Christmas to all Cryptonauts ! That nice 50+ % increase in bch being added to coinbase would be a nice holiday present then I'm not understanding why Coinbase added BCH over so many other MORE DESERVING AND MATURE coins. IMO that choice is a MINUS for Coinbase.

I hear this logic , but those big farms will all switch equihash anyways when POS happens , might as well get the cheapest cards.
two 570s can do the work of 1 1070ti for a lower price $225 per card
never understood why people buy cards that cost near $600
Efficiency and rig density. A pair of 570 can match a single 1070 ti on hashrate, but at what cost in power usage? 50% worse? 30% worse? To match the efficiency of my 1070 ti rigs, they would have to manage 230 sol/s at UNDER 55 WATTS power usage - then factor in "more power used per GPU by system overhead" and they're have to get into the 45-50 watt range. The 230 sol figure is trivial for a RX 470/480/570/580 card - but that 55 watt figure? *ROFLMAOSC* RX cards CRUSH Nvidia at current pricing for ETH and spinoffs (except possibly the 1060 that they only "beat"), but that's not the case on many other algos - and do keep in mind that ETH *IS* making progress towards the end of Proof of Work. Also, I'm not seeing 570 cards at $225 - $239 AND UP last time I checked and availability seems to be dropping again while price is starting to rise again - though still pretty close to half the price of a 1070 ti. It's also why some folks prefer the 1080 ti over the 1070 ti - efficiency there is close and the rig density makes up for the slightly worse hash/$ and hash/watt figures. I do have to wonder what the Volta Nvidia generation is going to look like - based on the figures out of the Titan V, I'm guessing 5+ efficiency at even PUSHED hashrate figures might happen, with some potential for "the most efficient model" touching 6. Remember, you saw that prediciton here from me FIRST!

I just realized I have no clue what brand of Nvidia cards are good for mining. Could you recommend some? ^^ Which brand got the best fans? Lifespan of these cards is crucial Avoid Gigabyte cards with sleeve bearing fans. I've had to RMA 5 of the cards below in 5 months of mining because the fan either stopped completely or started going haywire e.g. stopping and starting, erratically changing speed etc. They are in a low dust, ~20 degrees C ambient environment and mostly ran <60% fan speed. There are some tuts around on how to replace the bearings but there's no point on cards still under warranty. I think I'll sell mine on and migrate to a model with more durable fans so keen to hear recommendations too! My 3 (so far) Gigabyte minis are going to get RMAed - but they didn't have the fan die, they just outright died. My other Gigabyte cards with fan issues are going to get "real" fan replacements at some point - not worth the time and pain to RMA them if the card itself is still working, and should provide better cooling for LESS power. I've got a TON of "bought used" NMB 92mm fans sitting around that should fit on a Windforce heatsink fine with a few twist-ties to hold them in place. Anything EVGA is ball bearing. Same for Sapphire on the AMD side. Gigabyte Aorus are ball bearing - nothing else Gigabyte need apply for the last few years. 8-( Not sure on ASUS in general, though their blower models are ball bearing. MSI seem to all be ball bearing, though not sure on their blower models. Zotac - only the Amp EXTREME claims ball bearing, no idea on anything else.

ASUS Strix not sure but their "Turbo" blower-type cards ARE ball bearing. 1080 ti Turbo cooling is OK if you're running the card for efficiency NOT pushing for high hashrate - removing the mounting bracket helps that some but means the card "wobbles" in the riser unless you twist-tie it to something.

I feel you on all that but at current crytop prices all i care about is how fast a card can pay foritself , and then youre only paying for the power. Rx 4gb cards have faster roi so im sticking with those for now , eventually ill migrate to volta cards or lower priced 1070s I just can pay $450 per card density be dammned when last year this time i was buying 1070s forc $349 the rx cards are $50 or over priced the nvida 1000 series more like $120 over priced which makes it a no brainer for me. If the rx cards creep back up to $350 ish ill start buying nvidia cards but before then im more concerned about hash/$

How do you like the Colorful vs the Onda? Those are nice pictures, I've had a hard time finding pictures of either board with the right angle and clarity to see how much space is between the GPUs. It looks like with the right kind of airflow either board would work for 8 GPUs (at least the less power/heat hungry ones).
