all of the molex/sata plugs need to be powered as per another member's reports... for the PCIE slot power draw.

if you muscled  a ddr3 into the ddr4 slot it will break the ram or the slot

1 cable  can do 2  1070  if you stay at 100-105 watts

so  I tend to use this psu  with 5 pcie cables.

I run 5 1070   and 2  1070tis

I leave 1 slot open..

I pull   100  watts  each with the 1070's
I pull 120 watts each with the 1070 tis.

740 watts + 40 more  = 780 watts  runs nice.

I postponed my board purchase for the time being, a little to touchy for me to jump in and snatch 10 of them, I think I'll just unbox all the brand new spares I have and use them instead for the time being, I'm hoping the rev 2's will be a little less finicky. I don't mind risers for now.

i also plugged in all power connectors: the atx mobo and 8 pin cpu (duh), 3 molex, 3 sata even when i just had just one card in setting it up initially. card was in 1st slot closest to cpu.

So far all the boards that we have tested runs well it smOS Linux and Windows.

The DDR3 and DDR4 memory that we have used are the ones recommended by the sellers.

The DDR3 and DDR4 types are "Standard DDR" and should align perfectly with the grooves.

Meanwhile.... I am still struggling to get the Vegas up and running.... currently running about 10 minutes or so with 2k hash per card on a 4 x GPU config.... blue screen.... hmmmm looks like I need to just run this without the mods and control the power settings via software.

Hey guys, how are yall able to control temps on the D1800 with the GPU's so close together? Im not ready to convert this setup to water yet as the GPU's im testing on this board full VGA waterblocks seem to be nearly impossible to find...

I am having to run the setup on 60% tdp to maintain temps below 72c in my garage on the inner most 2 GPU's the first and last GPU are running in the low 50's mining, not sure if im ok with these temps....because when weather starts warming up ill be unable to control temps with this spacing....

( Note: I'm getting the same symptoms Storx described on the 6 slot ONDA. I tried clicking the the button he used to resolve the issue. No luck)

Do I need to install a VGA driver or something else?

Is there an online manual ?( I couldn't find one of the ONDA website.)

Been struggling for 2 days with the ONDA B250 BTC-D8P MoBo Ver.1 MoBo. Ran all over Toronto to replace RAM and CPU. Sill not working.
Here's my set up:

MOBO : see above
PSU: CORSAIR HXi Series HX1200i 1200W 80 PLUS PLATINUM
CPU: Intel Core I3-7100 Kaby Lake Dual-Core Processor Socket LGA 1151, 3.9GHz
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB 260-Pin DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000) Laptop Memory Model F4-2133C15S-4GRS
GPU's 1 x EVGA 1060 SC, and 7 x EVGA 1060 SCC



I plugged it in the way Phil mentioned so that i didn't short it. I even tried what worked for Storx ( pushing the CMOS button) when he had trouble getting his D1800 to post.

not sure if this will help.. have the onda B250 D8P ver 1. G4400, 8 gig ddr4 sodimm (g.skill ripjaw ddr4 2400), 128 gig msata. dual psus, mixed amd and nvidia, 6 cards total.

for initail setup: i booted with a single rx460 and got into the bios. in there i set the iGPU (to use the G4400 Pentium) as the primary video to use the hdmi port, then disconnected the 460 video (left the card in though) and rebooted. from there i installed win10. the iGPU came up as "microsoft basic vga" or something to that effect in device manager. then i let it search for drivers and it grabbed the intel driver from ms. from there is was a cakewalk, more or less.

the board does some sort of self discovery mode on initial boot and any boot after a cmos reset. in a bios reset i think it expects a card in the 1st slot (closest to cpu) and doesnt use teh iGPU (if any), its kinda of a weird board until you get it setup, then its fine. its actually rock solid for me. i like it, cards have good spacing and cooling is good with 3 noctua 140s each pushing 133 cfm at them.

I have a couple G4400 CPUs on other MoBos. I'll move one to the ONDA and start over.

Well changing to the G4400 didn't make a difference. Just like before, The fans on the GPUs and the CPU start spinning and nothing else happens. Not even a light on the Ethernet port.

So, I'm giving up and sending it back. Am looking at alternative boards ...but likely have to go with risers.

Hey buddy, check your memory, these onda motherboards are very specific on memory requirements.. is your memory 1.35V? When i first got my D1800 BTC board i bought DDR3 memory listed under 1.35 search, but when i double checked the memory itself it had printing of 1.5v listed on the product, so i had to ship it back and order new memory. Also i found that the memory was very tricky on getting the proper angle to get it to fully seat for me. I think the clear bios worked for me because i was trying to boot it on 1.5V memory and it was unhappy with it throwing errors, then when i placed the correct memory in the computer it wouldnt boot tell i cleared the errors from the 1.5v memory.

I used those ripjaw ddr 4 rams thos worked for me

I really find it weird how poorly the RAM fits into the slot.

hope it works for you and yes make sure the ram is properly slotted in ,  Iusually first pull back those clicky tab things then slide it in and make sure it clicks.  I bet the ram was ur issue its common for a cpu fan to spin and no post usually its ram

Thanks bud, figured that the non-ref was my issue, just need to get busy with watercooling, just was not planning on converting them all over this soon, ordered stuff so i can watercool all my rigs on the same waterloop. I am planning on installing buried rated pex in the ground in a grid formation in my backyard, then attempt to watercool my mining rigs via geothermal cooling, because the one guy in California was able to passively cool all his 270+ gpu's via copper wire just thrown in his backyard pool, i think the ground would make a great radiator to soak up most of the heat, if need be im going to install radiators with fans after it exits the ground, but only if i truly need it.

The goal is to convert my entire mining setup over to watercooling by next year with possibly all of it cooled passively.

To answer a question you asked earlier, the D1800 is running off +12v and Ground on the inputs only... i pulled the extra pins on 3 molex extensions and plugged 3 GPU's into the slots with the Molex inputs and they booted up and mined just fine

 Weird that Onda would mention DDR3 at all, as the Skylate / Kaby Lake/ EVERYTHING ELSE that uses Socket 1151 CPUs are all DDR4 specific.

 Blower cards are still going to have an issue with air flow restriction at the blower intake.

This is why even though im not using it right away, I sprung for one of the B250 D8P boards.  Id say its like 2 1/4 card spacing or thereabouts between the 16x slots.  I think even with the huge behemoth coolers on EVGA cards there's still room to adequately allow you to pass air into that area and cool the fans enough.  Paired with the frame for sale on these forums... its going to be a little sweet unit =)

I am partial to EVGA cards, and their coolers have become quite large... but they are pretty efficient, and I have been waiting for a board like this to have surfaced.   I myself don't like reference style cards as they are engineered to fit in a small allotment of space.

Used devcon for disable/enable the cards and then in AB only the fan speed curve I edited. 8x Sapphire Vega64 mining stable since 4 weeks, but I noticed a small hash rate decrease, it's starting with ~1880 h/s and after 1-2 weeks it ~1800h/s.


8xVega64 using 1240W from the wall with Cast-Xmr 0.7.

I had the same behavior with a Delta PSU in combination with a Biostar TB250 BTC pro Mobo... the fans start spinning but no boot. I managed to start it by slowly removing the 4 pin CPU connector from the Mobo and put it back, all this during the rig being connected to power...

I have to admit that I might be switching to smos. Very impressed with it. I'm not sure that I could get power usage that low in windows without losing stability.

Not to interested in smos for amd though, unless you guys have some good settings for amd
