Goodluck man, i have been profit switching $9.31USD/day for 7 day average per 1080ti, been a great week for Nvidia Alts with Altcumminity coin
I suppose you're using Sniffdog?
What algos are you switching between out of curiosity? And what interval between switches? $9+ a day is quite impressive.

oh man i feel like a dumbass.......
Someone nicely PM'd me, have you ever tried pressing the button on the board?.....

So i went out and dug out all the parts back out, assembled it quickly on the desk... powered it up.. nothing like i have been dealing with... pressed the little button, immediately everything stops moving, starts moving again and i hear my first audible beep to date...

Now im just waiting to see if its going to boot into windows on the go... been saying getting ready for a while....

isnt that the clear cmos button? at least on the onda 1800 b250 the button in the same spot (corner of the board next to the usb/ethernet ports) is labeled as such.

if it doesnt boot try removing the battery and all power and pressing it again for a few seconds. then give it another shot.

Picked up another Vega56 today, black Friday deal here in the UK, got it for $518 equivalent. Going to pair it with my other one and run in my new gaming rig with Ryzen 1700. Do you think my Corsair RM750x is good enough for all of that? Should manage ~4100 H/s including CPU I hope Smiley

Apparently reference Vegas are now EOL, only a few board partners will now be making non-reference coolers in small numbers...

he did nice work.

but  radiators are a little lite  2x 3 fan  he should have used 2x 4 fan style

and  he  should have used 1 or 2 inches more space  between each card.  if a riser dies  lifting a middle card to remove the riser would be a lot easier

Goodluck man, i have been profit switching $9.31USD/day for 7 day average per 1080ti, been a great week for Nvidia Alts with Altcumminity coin

where do you usually get your info on what is profitable? Do you go after each new ANN or just read on news-boards?

I use Awesome Miner, i have a much smaller setup compared to the past, so im not online as much, been spending more time doing my real job while i work out the insurance BS from hurricane, but the community for Awesome Miner has grown a lot since when i started, now when a new coin comes out, literally within hours of launch many of the bigger more plugged in miners bombard the dev on adding the new coin, so a new quick update was added and i can see it on my list.... So when it was added i noticed it and just added whichever pool i want to use to mine it and have been mining it and daily converting it to BTC when im home and can perform the task.

For example, i just checked and my rigs are on Monacoin, the last hour its been bouncing around $15-16/day profit per 1080ti's on those rigs... but that number is a number that isnt constant, so maybe in an hour it may be back down to $1/day when enough rigs switch over to overmine the coin... with the ability to apply dynamic GPU settings per algo... i have learned over time some cards just cant handle the switching as well as others and require to be reduced in settings individually and after kinda fine tuning my cards 1 by 1, i have had rock solid stability with profit switching every 60 seconds. 98% of the time it doesnt switch every 60 seconds, because usually a coin sits at the top longer than that, but on average i see strong coins last about 20-30mins before it finally is overmined and im off to the next coin.. i also only profit switch a select few coins, so my rigs dont switch really all that often...

I know many dont like profit switching, but its worked out great for me, during days of low profits i can grab a few % more over solid minable coins and when a new and hot one comes out i can jump back and forth to it when its hot. the vast majority of my coins i mine are mined directly to Bittrex and i use the auto-convert to BTC feature they have, so i have it setup to send the coins i mined after each block, 2 blocks, or so depending on the coin as long as its above the transfer limit, then sell it asap at the current price before the pools get over and crush the price before me. most pools that auto-convert on the site only sell alts every 30-60minutes, so usually i can get more out of them before they are crushed into the ground

Honestly i think he made a grave mistake, with using soft poly mining, it gets extremely flimsy after a while and he risk shorting out everything...

He should have built it with the motherboard and such on top and the GPU's on the bottom row, so if one springs a leak its going on the ground and not on the motherboard... also the way he setup his rig he will never get any life out of those water pumps, they just cant deal with the load and resistance of the GPU blocks along with higher sustained heat... i learned this very quickly with my 2 watercooled mining rigs, my D5's only last a few months at a time before dieing...

He should implement gravity on his side and use a 2 res system. have the fluids drain to a bottom res so it can prime the water pumps, but he should have a smaller res on the top somewhere, that the waterpumps can push water against gravity only into so gravity and flow the fluids through the GPU blocks at the rate gravity and resistance allows. This was the only way i could get any of my water pumps to survive. They run much cooler in this configuration and since switching to this method ive yet to have another water pump failure (knock on wood)... granted it increased my overall temps about 5c, but reliability is the key, i have an overflow line that keeps the top res dumping back into the bottom res at roughly 80% of its capacity... so the top res always has fluid in it so it can constantly circulate fluid and the pump is not pumping against resistance, since they pump at a rate faster than what the system can drain by gravity due to internal block resistance multiplied over many GPU's.....

Something i want to test in the future is either mounting the GPU's sideways, so the fluid can flow directly down through all the GPU's with gravity or cant the mounting bar a few degrees so all the cards are at a slight angle to promote gravity flow and prevent stagnant water pockets.

I do have a few questions about the D1800 if anyone could answer...
When testing out the first 1080ti on the board, i plugged power into Pout3 Molex, since the card was in slot 3 and nothing,
plugged power into Pin3 sata and still nothing, so i plugged all the cables in and the board booted up and detected the 1080ti....

Now was curious what triggered it to boot and detect, so i unplugged them and and rebooted it on each cable and Pout2 Molex turns PCI3 1080ti on during bootup and im awaiting windows to fully boot now. I think i need to buy a M.2 Drive, the usb's on this board cant be very fast, this is the slowest i have ever booted into windows on the go.. flipping slow and when it does boot its pegged 99-100% on drive in task manager and pauses a lot when drive hits 100%....

Are yall having similar issues booting off USB?

FWIW gravity doesn't come into play in a closed loop water cooling system.

Make sure the board takes m.2.....   It could be msata.... same port, different protocol/pinout.   I know my Onda B250 D8P is labeled for msata, not M.2/NGFF.

As for the front molex/sata ports, I would suspect they have a detect/sense wire on each plug to verify that they are powered (similar to how video cards wont power unless all/key pins see power/gnd on the connector.)..

I still need to get an ECU and memory for my board, so I can't comment... and I do know its not the same D1800 you have, but the construction and design between these two models looks pretty close, so I wouldn't be surprised if they are not all that dissimilar.

I'd probably classify that integrated processor as the same class as an "Atom" or embedded cpu....   What model does the cpu report as?

Your right, i mistakenly said m.2, i had the drive i placed in my current gaming rig on the mind. Right now im about to try an old OCZ Vertex SSD 60GB i had from the old days of SSD, i just remembered i still had it and went and dug it out.. gonna try it on the D1800 BTC, because i cant stand the pausing of the USB drive... never have that type of pausing in any other rig ive used it on...

Yes i would agree with you on a NORMAL computer with NORMAL watercooling, when you add additional GPU blocks in a loop it literally halves the flow rate for each block it runs through... so with 4, 6, 12 GPU's the more you run on a loop the harder and harder the pump has to work to push the same amount of fluid.. My motherboard supported watercooling, so i could run the pump off the motherboard and i was near max wattage the pump was rated for with just 4 GPU blocks and a CPU block in a loop... so i went on the overclocking watercooling forums to get some help from the experienced guys and they recommended going a 2 res, overflow gravity setup... which i switched to and my pump wattage dropped dramatically and the pump temp itself dropped way down over half of what it ran at previously.

So to clarify, Vega rigs need to run Win10 as of the moment?

No one is running on linux?

In THEORY the 17.40 LINUX drivers should work - but I've yet to see anyone post that they actually DO work, much less give the high hashrate out of the blockchain drivers WHEN WORKING CORRECTLY on Win10.

I plan to work on a LINUX system sometime this week to see if AMD finally got VEGA support working AT ALL.

I read over on steemit that someone found support to unlock the AMD drivers in linux to match windows performance basically, but from the manufacture they have it all altered to deter it being used by miners with AMD, because AMD is partnered heavily with Microsoft and intel now, so they probably want to push more users onto the windows platform so Microsoft makes more money

BTW - don't believe that $5/day out of a Vega mining XMR - though I suppose $4.50 has been pretty close on average the last couple days IF you can get a Win10 system to stay up reliably and don't have power glitches that bork it.

Given AMD issues with AMD GPU-PRO from day one AND their long-running LINUX driver issues in general, I'm more inclined to blame AMD's "lazy" attitude towards LINUX over some BS conspiracy theory.

DO note that the "AMD/Intel" partnership appears to have been at the request of APPLE, and therefore would tend to be ANTI-Microsoft.

Little update on the D1800, def the usb speed is terrible on this board, i ran a speed test on the computer for the usb thumb drive, it peaked 6.8MB/s and averaged less than 1MB the majority of the test.

I am in the process of installing all the drivers and such on the old SSD and its no longer pausing and the CPU actually is running at base clock speeds, on the USB version of windows i was seeing only 2.05 on the core, now 2.40-2.55 on the cpu core.
