do you guys run your different nvidia gpu classes (ie 1070 class, 1080 class etc) on different algo or switching strategies?  like 1080tis are better/worse than 1070tis at some algos?

i have 2 470s and 460 that stay at eth on mph, and at the moment my 3 nvidia (1070, 1070ti, and 1080ti) are lumped together as one worker and all mine whatever i choose at mhp. should i split the 1080ti out and run it as its own worker and let it run independent? whattomine seems to suggest that but it varies and from what i gather its not the most reliable thing there is.

jeez life was easier when i was all amd Smiley but i retired my 380/390s and i must admit playing with the nvidia stuff is kinda fun.

I just got my 1070tis and I intend to run 1080ti and 1070ti differently. 1080tis are dedicated to coins that show linear scaling with cuda cores like vertcoin, skein. Occasionally switch to equihash if there's a pump. 1080ti just don't scale well with equihash.

1070ti probably equihash because it's way more efficient and better price perf in that algo. Though I will switch it to 1080ti's coin if there's a shitcoin pump.

Yeah, imagine 160x 1060s in a 42U rack. 5 racks of these for MOQ.

That mobo looks like the generic K17 mobo that I have.

The cheapest pre-made system was just below the 2265 USD$ system on Aliexpress - but that system uses Colorful B250 with Colorful P106 x 8 / Hynix mem.

Edit: The seller has increased price to US $2,570.00 - -- seller said 11.11 promo over -- but can negotiate for better pricing depending on quantity purchased.

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

Yup. Aliexpress have free shipping though, I think it will be cheaper overall.
BTW can the K17 mobo work with simple rig resetter?

Because the server PSU supplies power all the time, wondering how it interacts with SRR.

The P106s were originally for ETH but I am out of ETH now, and all P106s are working with the 1070/1070tis mining ZEC.

Due to the demise of NH - will be looking at new NH when they decide to resume business - doubt it that they could come back from the disaster - I have decided to put all mining operations back to LTC, DASH, Monero and ZEC -- and hoard all these coins. By then time Coinbase adds those coins into GDAX trading -- likely we will see all of them passing 1k per coin in valuation.

As long time lurker in these threads I have to admit Phil has and continues to do a massive public service with the stuardship here thanks again to everybody else too (too many to name) the contribution and wealth of knowledge in these threads are whole weekend worthy rabbithole inducing

Even for lazy old STRICLTY ASIC set up guys like myself.

Every time I watch the latest BBT or lately even whatever VOSK is thrown up (SHOUTOUT TO VOSK i was like your 112th sub)

Anyway my eyes glaze over and envision the seemingly endless morays of whatever misfortune my lie ahead for me being mac OS only setup even down to the routers cause I can barely tolerate android phones or Windows Machines "OS" drivers upon fucking drivers drivers for hours then more updates and drive hrs whatever..

And please...LINUX?

GTFOH

Honestly not once but multiple failures later it's borderline PTSD for should I dare venture into the altcoin/mlutiple pints of failure GPU scenes even thegpushackdude who sends you the idiot proof linux build "turnkey" shit got so sick of me that he literally refunded me just I would go away!

Without that embarrassing backstory now out of the way I was hoping for some opinions on the following package of "openbox" 1080ti hybrids (5 Total) in the particular offer I'm kicking around in my mind and if there's any hidden issues you anyone might be able to steer clear from before I go fail miserably again trying to conquer my altcoinphobia et al..

So there's 5 Ti's all with the massive hybrid water cooler things are they going to be able to work in a "straight to the motherboard" riserless design? Or am I way off on that?

If risers are are gonna be a thing I'd rather stay away I really dig Phil's straight to the board approach eliminating as many points of poytential failure as possible.

Anyway thanks again guys for this thread especially Phil ;-)

Nearly there...

Colorful B250 8 slot motherboard
G3930/8GB DDR4/128GB M2-SSD/Win10
7 x Sapphire Vega64, 1 x Gigabyte Vega64
2400w Delta server PSU
Cast XMR miner with power table registry mods, automation scripts for resetting each GPU prior to mining, etc.

Attempting to run this overnight to see how far can this puppy go...

yeah  you should be able to do 5   and get them  to fit.

I purchased this case from spotswood.

it is designed for the onda b250 board  and hybrid  cards.

the b250   will do up to 7 hybrid  cards and a short card riser free

but if you use 1080 ti's   maybe only 5  would work.

the 1500 watts rosewill tokamak  is on sale on ebay

 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rosewill-TOKAMAK-1500W-Full-Modular-Power-Supply-80-PLUS-TITANIUM-Certified/172974471489?

and there are lots of coupons  for it.

pgifts10

10% ebucks

and 40 off if you buy 2

it is a solid psu

contact spotswood  for the hybrid case

I have a house of macs  and here is a big fuck you  to the present mac mangement  for killing off mac minis (almost dead)

Linux with smos is easy peasy .

I would hold your hand to set it up.

They charge 2 dollars a rig each month well worth it.  I have 20 rigs with them I may end up with 40 to 50 by the end of 2018.

Let me know what speeds you get (or rather what clocks you can run stable). These Vega's are so close together that the memory doesn't cool properly. At least that's what I'm having with my 6-slot Onda.

LOL - that should be SniffDog - its basically another version of what aaronspace has been working on. Tried Nemos too. But this dog, is probably the most stable and doesn't crash Win10 rigs.

Tried Cast and Stak -- and both giving me "DPC Violation..." blue screen.

Is there an easier way to get these Vega going?

But that GPU-5 is acting up... it's hashing though

Total watts around 1450watts - which is not what I was expecting.

1450 at the wall? That's not bad for 8x Vega64's... What mods have you applied? What clocks and voltages are you running?
That GPU5 does not seem to hash at all... and it will probably crash your rig too... Gonna have to dial back those mem clocks methinks.

I got 2 miner crashes that needed to be manually restarted.

Also I call bullshit on the algo switching, I made less with the multi algo switching that mining straight lyrarev2.

I did a full 24 hour test run and calculated the BTC per Mh/s -

Sniffdog was only .005 mBTC/Mh/s which came out to .0021 BTC for 400 MH/s - now according to the profit switcher, ever single coin was always over $45-70/day so MINIMUM earned should have been 0.0031 BTC which it failed miserably.

Cool program and all, but profit switching 100% did not work to increase profits, it actually decreased them by 30%

I have successfully run my 6 slot onda for 1 week now. 4x vega56 2x rx570.
Hashing at 9200hs steady.
Gotta check power though.
Max temp on vegas 68C and 60C on 570s. My ambient is 30-34C

EDIT
600w at the wall.
