Bringing new ASIC miners to life

Hi all, This topic has been created especially for the Mars open day. We have some pictures for you to look at as all parts are in the building below is one the Mars blades with heat sinks mounted.  Then we have one without heat sinks mounted so you can see the chips.  Please note there are 8 of these blades in one Mars rig all exactly the same. We have some final coding that we must finish before we can run these at full speed. We expect this to be finished in the next day or so. So many people have expressed interest in attending our open day, meet our team and see this product in action, so we will need to take people in separate shifts. We would therefore like to invite people to either a morning session at 10:00am or and afternoon session at 14:00. For now we don't want to commit to an exact day as we need to be 100% sure the code is running as expected so you can see the demo of the product working at full speed. We will use this thread to announce the exact date. We know people need quite a few days to book travel which means we will give at least 5 days notice. Thanks KnCMiner team |

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Anyhow, I guess you can imagine that we know that you can develop a FPGA. The big question is if you will be able to develop an ASIC for bitcoin mining, and to deliver as promised.
A big plus would be to actually see the ASIC chips during the Open Day. Your delivery date is ambitious (September/October), and being able to see and touch a chip before paying would be a big thing and would boost your sales a lot.

Well, there is a reputable ASIC company involved (ORSoC). Anyhow, even in good faith, this may well be an overpromise. This is why I would like to see the chips during the Open Day. As we know from past history, first step is the chip - then you need time to have a working prototype, test it thoroughly, and then more time to produce en masse. If they are really going to deliver in September, the chips should be ready or at least in production. Good thing is that we will be able to check personally soon. |

There will be a second open day for the ASIC. A second open day for the ASIC? Well, I do not need to see a working prototype - I'd like to see at least the chips. Because you know that they will open very soon the payments, and if you want to get your ASIC in September you will have to pay straight away, don't you? |

Alterra as sample ship for this live demo, when really start producing the fpga in bulk maybe they will have their own name on it. |

I stopped following the other thread. Someone who has been following along, does it appear that these guys are legit? Also, if you purchase a Mars FPGA board, is that $2000 voucher a trade-in or simply a credit towards a Jupiter?
