Very Important:  Immediate Formation of the iXcoin Foundation!

Deadsea,

You're absolutely right about forming an iXcoin Foundation, all the top performing coins have them and it serves a good purpose in bringing some structure, stability and better communication to a coin.

I've proposed it in the past but not a single person seemed interested.

I've asked for votes and not a single person submitted any votes.  I have nominated myself along with other people and not even those people ever showed any interest and not even a response.

Since nobody seems to care and most major contributors to iXcoin are here a short while then gone for weeks or months [at a time] without a sign of life and also because I have the largest vested interest - the most at risk in iXcoin:  I hereby announce the immediate formation of the iXcoin Foundation.

And since there is no sign of any other interested, reliable parties I'm also going to assume the position of Chairman of the iXcoin Foundation Board.

I have never power tripped even though owning 3% of iXcoin would have justified it but you're right, we do need a Foundation and since nobody seems to care, since nobody has ever responded to my requests and nobody seems interested in a board seat, and since those I nominated never responded, I see no issue in Founding this Board right now and appointing myself Chairman.

Like always, I only want what's best for iXcoin.  I'm not gonna get political like the Bitcoin board members and I'm not gonna appoint total strangers to key positions without first informing iXcoin stakeholders (the way Bitcoin/Gavin has) and I will not get in the way of progress for this coin in the name of selfish schemes:  Bullshit Decentralized and Anonymous lies in an attempt to deceive the [Government and Bank hating] masses so they'll flock to my coin.

In other words, I am now Chairman of the iXcoin Foundation but I will be incredibly flexible and I will always act openly and with the best interest of all the stakeholders in mind, instead of just my own personal interests.

And finally, my flexibility will extend to the addition of the rest of the board members.  Whoever the majority votes for - those will take the seats.

I also suggest we do 9 board members - that's the right number to get enough talent, various skills and differing opinions without creating too many foolish arguments.

EVERYONE, please post your suggestions and nominees for the remaining 8 iXcoin Foundation Board seats.

If I still get ZERO interest I'll once again be proactive and appoint the other members myself, which I'd rather not do since this is a community based monetary system.

Please don't hesitate to nominate anyone you choose, including yourselves, but please leave the sock puppets in the closet.  Ha!

And please show your support by expressing your feelings and opinions about what I'm suggesting here and likewise; don't shy away from showing any disagreement, but please keep it as professional as possible.

Thanks to All!

Edit:  I have owned the proper iXcoinFoundation domains for a while now so we won't have any issues there.  Yes, that's the foresight of a Chairman.  Ha.

Edit:  Do you guys prefer iXcoinFoundation.org or .com?  I believe I got both just to be sure.  Please let me know.

I'm not entirely sure how you could possibly assign other members to the board unless they volunteered for it.

If there were some sort of settlement or negotiation, I could understand it.

As someone who holds some IXcoin but has not interacted with the community as of yet I don't quite see how this board is going to help IXC rise in utility or value to others.

That being said. I do understand that since these currencies (and ultimately any currency) is based on community participation I'd say it's about high time I joined the scene and gave at least some aid. To do otherwise would be inexcusably foolish for I really would have just been throwing my money away.

Count one more member amongst your active IXC participants. I want to make this work as much as anyone.

If you can truly indeed get counterparty/mastercoin features and colored coins into ixcoin then you have my vote.

But doesn't this contradict your theme from the riddle thread? One of your points for large corporate takeover of ixcoin was the lack of foundation.

Lets put some wheels on this thing.
Nominate Fictionlesscoin, markm

We can for a fact put any features or innovations from any coin in IXC, which is why I've a always said never buy a coin strictly for the features pitch.

Friction and MarkM are good nominations, I support both of them.  Regarding Mark, he has a solid reputation, he's one of very few people i would trust in the crypto world, and he's also one of the best programmers I've met on here, but Mark seems to be a busy and private individual so I'm not sure he will accept but I hope he does.

Mark, please say yes!  Ha!

As for my theories regarding centralization and the Bitcoin foundation.

It's impossible for any successful crypto to not eventually have some form of structured and formal leadership, which is what a Foundation board is.  That said, if we're not proactive then someone else will accumulate enough coins eventually and gang up on us and form a foundation and we, the true early adopters, the true believers will be left out of any important decisions.

It's a 2 edged sword, this Foundation, but like I said, the behavior and attitude of the Bitcoin foundation which have turned it very centralized - I will fight hard to keep that from happening.

I don't see any better way - cause if we wait around and IXC does become successful, outsiders will form a Foundation and they will not be as flexible, transparent and inclusive as we can be.

FINALLY:  FEEDBACK!!!

Hahahaaaa.

It's so nice to see people post how they feel about this.  And a new guy too, well, new to posting.

Thanks for speaking up!!!

I didn't expect so many people to support me; I'm very grateful and I will work very hard to be honest with all of you regarding any matters which will affect iXcoin and therefore, you, the stakeholders.  And I'm certain there will come a time when being honest and open for the sake of everyone will not be an easy nor a popular thing for me to do, but I tend to have a rebellion problem in that regard; even though I may not want to speak up I don't think I'll be able to help myself.

Thanks again and let's keep the votes, nominations and opinions coming.  Anyone is eligible for a board seat; you do not need to be rich or college educated.

For me, the most important qualifications for a nominee are a history of integrity and a history, even a shorter one, of being involved in iXcoin, helping out any way you could (in that order).  Cause all the degrees, skills and talent in the world don't make up for a dishonest character and with these cryptos, with so many ScamCoins, a honest dev team and Foundation will truly prove to be a big competitive advantage [in the long run].

I guess that the best spokesman that can exist is one which has dedicate a large sum of his assets into the coin.

If that isn't walk the walk, I don't know what else can be.

I am a very small IXC holder but Vlad has my vote as well for frontman.

Thanks for voicing your opinion and your support.

I did put everything I could scrape up in IXC and I also tirelessly tried to inform people as much as I could.

People are quickly growing tired of ScamCoins and soon I think many will look for coins which have been around for a long time and have not scammed anyone.

Someone should start CoinHell, it would be jam-packed with ScamCoins.

Come to think of it, that would be a great idea.  Haha!

Edit:  CoinHell .com was taken but I got CryptoHell .com.  lol.

It looks interesting:
http://www.wikihow.com/Start-a-Private-Foundation
Now I get why there is an attorney in Bitcoin's board members.

Do you know a bored attorney interested in investing his money on ixc now and get onboard?

Yikes, I didn't know it was that complicated.  Man, we've got tons of programmers here but no lawyers.  Ha!

The Ixcoin Foundation...this is just fantastic. Cultivates further legitimacy.

.com or .org small details but I would go with .org if you ask me. And as many others have chimed in, Vlad for a leadership position. cheers...

all of this today sure spruced up my Sunday work day. what a show it has been. Gave me a good excuse too blow up my twitter account. Hashtag#Ixcoin

Yeah, made my day as well.  Too bad it wasn't the start of the huge run I'm expecting.

Question: Don't whales travel in pairs?  Cause I was just thinking, what happens when you get one whale in a tiny pond and it makes all kinds of noise?

It could get interesting very soon.
I think this is only the beginning. As stated many times before, the community is tired of weak scam coins. IXC is aged & secured with a 23 Petahash network. Thats where Ill put my monies...

Chairman Vlad,
Can you update us on:
- remaining bounties;
- news from Nasakioto;
- news from FrictionlessCoin;
- news from Luke.
- timetable of future developments;
- costs linked to these coming features;
- list of active developers.
How far are we from having an operative board?

Thanks

Excellent questions. I've sent out emails to the parties above and I'm awaiting responses.

I'll try to get it all compiled and give you guys a response.  Hopefully Thomas will respond soon, I'd really like to know how much we have left for bounty payouts.  That could really help get this thing moving.

Can I do the human thing by being extremely lazy and deferring to the possibly expertise of those that might know better than myself the answer to this question:

What's the best way for someone to get involved in programming for IXC? I know I can find out on my own, but if anyone here with greater insights or experience than I could shoot me a link then I'd be most grateful.

So you're a programmer?  How good are you with C++?

The best way would be to PM frictionless.  He's our main programmer.  Thomas is as well but he is much more difficult to reach.  I'm sure he'll love to get some help coding.

Let me ask, what's your goal or expectation with/from iXcoin?

Do you currently own any iXcoins?

Thomas, we've had debates for months now as to what the meaning, if anything, was behind choosing iX for the coin name.  Cause besides the number 9, it doesn't really stand for anything.  And also, there were a lot of ways to mix up Satoshi's name to get an anagram; why did you choose Thomas, which is not Japanese, when you probably could have jumbled the letters together and gotten some Japanese sounding name.

Brilliant move BTW - in choosing a Japanese name and having it be an anagram of Satoshi - a twin for a coin designed to be a twin with a hidden meaning of twin - blew me away when I saw that the first time.  Not sure if that was planned or a mere accident but that's Brilliant.

I preferred Thomas as it is more recognized as a first name.

There's a bunch of reasons and compromises why I choose Ixcoin. I'll write it up sometime.

Hey Thomas,

You said 6 weeks ago you'd add more color to this, wondering if you've had a chance.

Thanks.

Hmmmm, well, I thank you for the advice.

As for my goals/expectations. Why not aim for the top? I'm not interested in small returns. The power and potential of the crypto-currency data network is too powerful to dream small.

I believe we're just sitting on the shores of a newly discovered continent - full of wondrous potential.

And yes, I own IXcoins.

I would like to nominate deadsea33 to the foundation board.

The biggest reason is that he has been a consistent and constant voice and shareholder for iXcoin since day one.  Back them you had to be crazy to be buying iXcoin as it was seen as dead or a scam.  It took visionary types and self thinkers to see through the BS and these are rhe kinds of people we need in leadership positions.

And I would also like to remind MARKM (and a few others) that you have been nominated by other people, and myself, to also have a seat on the foundation board.

DeadSea, Frictionless, Luke, Thomas and Mark, please respond and let us know if you want the position you have been nominated for so we know how many seats we have left to vote for.

Thank you!

PS. - if anyone has issues with any of the above nominees please don't be afraid to make your case.  Do it now and not after these people have been given their seats.

Thank you for all your participation.
