For all those overclocking their D3s: The increase in profits with overclocking vs electricity usage is generally mutually exclusive!
There is an important caveat with this that should be mentioned: Do you believe in crypto? What I mean is, a few years ago a friend of mine was obsessed with tuning his GPU rigs for energy efficiency over performance, his mantra was that if it makes $5 less a day but costs $9 less then that's like a bonus $4, I didn't bother with that as I believed in the coins I was mining/hoarding. I won in the end because his $9 a day saved is still $9 a day saved, but his $5 a day lost is now $200 a day lost because that lost crypto has risen in value.

Safes you some time when experimenting with settings. - adds the reboot on low hashrate option (checks every 2 minutes and kicks in when the hashrate is measured below 88% of the expected hashrate) - ~ 1% improvement on effective average hashrate *jeeej* - fixed flash upgrade speed to new versions - added AUTO FAN profiles. The default profile is the one that's in since the start, the performance is more like the stock bitmain auto fan profile and the silent profile keeps things nice and quiet. Manual mode is for setting a static fan speed. know issues:[/b] - switching pools can sometimes cause the miner to wait for work for 10 seconds. happy mining!

You can still mine a good/promising coin with a loss which might turn into gains in the future, no doubt! It all depends how much you are able to shell out for your electricity bill without getting problems with your bank! Not everybody has cheap or free electricity. In my case, my day rate is too high for a profitable D3 mining (28 cent/kWh!) but my night rate is ok (17.5 cent/kWh). I also have solar, so during sunny days, I mine for free! If I mine with all my 5 miners 24 hours a day (without solar), I would have to pay for over 42000 kWh per year @ a daily rate of 23.6 cent/kWh, which means over $10,300 in electricity costs alone, and this is a lot of money for many people!

What the Fck is that Anyway I am trying your latest update, and so far so good. Just tried default fan setting and it is back to decent temp. I checked reboot on low hashrate as well, but can't say anything yet. Thanks for the quick update. Any thought on my second question ? Could you switch to your devfee pool at the end of the period, instead of before ?

I can not put it at the end of the period as people can make a simple restart script, but I will make the devpool period a lot shorter as soon as I got the last known issue fixed Do I have to use this version instead of the earlier you posted few post above?

I second that with regards to the reduce auto fan speed. I have tested it on a batch 1 17Gh D3 and I have rolled back to stock for the time being.
Problem I have:
1) Following your instruction and setting speed at 400 and fan at 25% is risky. The moment I upgraded the firmware my temp went up to 80. I will suggest setting the fan to at least 59% (if ambient temp is around 20 degrees) or higher if your ambient temp is much higher.
2) I tested with lowest, 1,2 voltage at 487 and I am not getting and HW errors but it keeps stopping with no hashrate.
3) You dev fee pool keeps kicking in when I'm trying to test with different settings and it is better if you set it so that it kicks in at the end of the hour or so.
4) Maybe a way to manually tweak the auto fan speed will be useful.
5) A temp protection like the L3 can also help.
I will probably also have that problem, in a moderate climate with 70-80F temp highs even in winter. Maybe a way to "proportion" the auto setting... some % value. Can be below or above?

whats your watts? Sorry my watt meter is in warehouse. I have this one D3 here in my house because there was some boot problems with bitmain firmware. I hope this Blissz firmware would solve that problem. I have 2400W PSU and it shows solid 12,7V to D3.
